    My own hair growth progress and success, I myself adhered to this daily regimen:
    Take morning sunlight every day for essential vitamin D. Eat vegetables of all colors. Applying paraben-free and fragrance free shampoo and massaging two times per week with hair oil by litttleextra's cocooonion oil. Important to keep in mind that hair growth is affected by overall health as well as circulation and diet.

    This is maybe why it can sometimes feel as though finasteride is not working. The problem areas that caused us to use the finasterade in the first place are already below the 50% mark. They dont get any better and may even continue to miniaturise. So it seems like its not working. But in reality, all your healthy hairs beyond those are now thriving and staying put!

    I'm torn when hearing well supported 'news' such as this. On one hand, I get it, it makes sense, and there are thousands of mostly bald people on finasteride supporting the information. On the other, we see the occasional person (like the wacky daily microneedling guy) who have managed to go from straight bald to nearly a full head of hair without surgery. There's that old 80's story of the bald old man who full thickness burned his head and came back for a checkup with a full head of hair. It certainly seems that it's *possible* to regrow hair, but we can't prescribe a pathway to make it happen for the average person at this point.

    What happens with a hair that was at 50% diameter before the use of minoxidil and has by now thickened up, when minoxidil is stopped? Is it still a viable choice to save that specific hair by starting up finasteride, even if you stop using minoxidil? Or would it be too far gone regardless?
    I'm curious about this process, because as far as I'm aware, minoxidil isn't preventative like finasteride, BUT the hair diameter is still increased. Would it return to the size it would've been without the use of minoxidil?

    • @dossta
      @dossta Год назад +7

      same thing happened to me years ago, stopped minoxidil for 8 months and all the hair I grew back shed again losing all of my progress then actually worsened to the point where my hair was better when I hadn't used any treatment. so if you have managed to thicken up your hair by minoxidil, its better to stay on it cuz it will eventually shed again or u could also use finasteride which prevents the hair thinning.

    I don't understand how finasteride repairs hair follicles when all it does is block DHT? Is it that hair follicles above 50% thickness will naturally heal themselves once DHT in the scalp falls beneath a certain threshold?
    Does that I mean that, as someone who isn't normally susceptible to MPB, if I take something that raises my DHT levels (like Tongkat Ali), to the point where it damages my hair follicles, taking a break from it will naturally allow the follicles to repair (because like a MPB sufferer who is taking finasteride, my scalp DHT levels will again have dropped into safe range)?

    Presenter here is very lucky (at his age) to not have the "balding gene" as such. There are many more caucasians than Indians and asians that have this gene. Not to say no asians or Indians go bald but its not as prevalent. Alot of Indian and Asian men keep their hair for life, they may lose a bit at the end due to circualation issues which happen as we age but a lot keep most of the thickness of their hair. I think the populatiosn that has the most balding is the people of UK, Irish, Scottish background - some beleive it may be due to Vitamin D ie balding makes people absorb the Vitamin D more readily......... The pure Australian Aboriginals do not have any balding at all - because there is so much burning sun that Vitamin D gets through and also if people were balding - even with dark skin their skin would burn so that makes sense.

    • @Billy.J

      @@Billy.J Its to do with sunlight. People from sunny countries don't as they get plenty of vitamin D and there head would burn. Damn, I wasn't aware of that, it might be good news for me! I'm 26 years old and still pretty much Norwood 1 but I've been loosing quite a bit of density since about the age of 19. Luckily, I started out with very thick hair so even now I probably still pass off as someone with a full of head of hair in most people's eyes, but my loss of density is starting to become more and more noticeable when my hair is wet or when there's a lot of light. My hairline is still basically straight across, though, so there might be hope that a lot of that hair I've lost is still above that 50% threshold. Finasteride kinda scares me given the potential side effects. Minoxidil, though, I'm open to trying. Do you think it could be effective in a case like mine?

    • @v.5442
      @v.5442 11 месяцев назад +1

      I was scared of taking finasteride too, so I didn't take it. 4 years down the line and my hair loss was progressing, despite doing everything (minoxidil, dermapen, topical and oral organic DHT regulators, etc.). So eventually I made my own topical finasteride (inexpensive) by crushing pills and putting that into minoxidil. Now I am exposing myself to 0,1-0,2mg of minoxidil a day by applying it topically. Perfect Hair Health has a long video on the exact dosage and the risks of side effects.

    i am 26 year old male. i was very stressed when i was 21 and therefore hair thinning started and hair became super super thin when i was 22 . then after that my stress level decreased significantly and therefore hair thickness improved little bit without doing any treatment. still i havent regained my original hair thickness . my family history is like my father is 57 and has full head of hair which are super thick ,my grandfather too is 90 and has thick hair, same is the case with my fathers brothers . my mother although lost hair when i was born because she took hormonal injections during pregnancy . my maternal uncles had good hairs till 35-40 and started loosing hair after 40s . can any one guide me

    And what about treatment for post-finasteride syndrome?

    • @justinscaffidi3570
      @justinscaffidi3570 Год назад

      Progesterone and pregnanalone. Basically just to recover the neurosteroids that regulate emotion and libido that finasteride lowers and can still be low after using it. PFS is a real thing but it is reversible if you understand what finasteride does to the brain. Definitely get a blood test too if you want to make sure.
