Steven Adler I think what’s sad is there are countless examples of this going on that we never hear about. I put a good deal of effort into seeking out positive stories.
We saw it on the news here in Australia last night - BRILLIANT !! Congratulations to both teams... while the game was important, it was heartening to see that it was humanity that one that game. To Jonathon Montanez, (22 Franklin), by passing him the shot you did your mother proud and inspired thousands - well done son.
Coronado and franklin are huge rivals, at games usually people go there to fight and on the last game, people were throwing water bottles and flour everywhere. I could not believe it when I heard from my sister (who happened to be cheering at the game) that this happened. Just amazing people with amazing hearts.
its an honor of mine knowing i go to.school with these kids. i play ball with these kids. im friends with them and that mitchell and jon both are such a huge part of my life. its too amazing for words & im glad his story was able to be shared.
Stories like this are what life is all about. These are all good people, especially Jonathan Montanez, who anyone would be proud to have for their son, and all of his teammates and coaches, who didn't object to what he did. His parents raised a great kid, and his gesture gave another person a lifelong good memory. Kudos to Mitchell's coach and teammates as well!
This was absolutely beautiful and my eyes are full of tears while I'm typing this! God Bless that team and all the players and the coach for having so much heart!!!!
It is stunning to me that there are people in this world that give a thumbs down to story like this (23 at the time I post this). What a beautiful story of love and compassion. Well done, Jonathan. That was all class.
that was a great move by the boy that passed him the ball. Even though it was there ball he still gave it to him to make the buzzer beater. This story really touches my heart. great job to both teams!
I have been in the house the whole weekend trying to take it easy. I have a carotid artery that is 99 percent blocked and waiting on test results. I have watched every on the road segment that is on RUclips. CBS should do a show a few times a year just showing these. With all the chaos and turmoil we have to live in and deal with, I think all of us could use an uplifting story such as these. Hats off to Steve Hartman!!
To the kid who turned it over; he won’t remember the score of one game he played in high school 30 years from now, but he’ll remember calling out Mitchell’s name and passing him the ball.
Alot of college basketball teams should look at this when some of there players act stupid. Those kids are so much more mature then most college basketball players
This was a very good thing to do - do you understand that, George F. Will? (He once wrote a column fuming against a coach in a women’s game who had told his players to make this sort of deliberate turnover of kindness so a player could score.)
"Treat others how you want to be treated" BIG TRUE Why, yes, I WOULD like the opposing team to hand me the ball and have no defense so I can get a free shot.
I've watched this several times and still get choked up. Helps me restore faith in mankind.

Me too, Steven. Don't give up. Keep looking for and seeing the good in people. I hope this brightened your day.
I think I've seen this video 10 times or so and teared up each time. Sheesh.

things like this belong on the news, not murderers or rapists being exposed all over the world on every stupid news channel for weeks and months.
I mean people need to know about rapes and murders as well
Positive reinforcement
Montanas gets it. Such a young man to already have compassion and the understanding that it isn’t just about yourself. Good on you fellow

Good on you young man. You’ve done your family proud.
That's what I like to see young people treating other peers with respect for others regardless if they disabilities

What a caring bunch of students. Kudos to #22 opposition team.

Tears of joy..
Awsome. And why all the strife in our world when we're all capable of this type of kindness?

That is so awesome :) I love both of those teams now!

1) Lie down.

3) Cry a lot.
Jonathan from the other team gets it! Good in him!
if the ref called traveling on that last play there will really be a "kill the ref" outcry. haha
Blessed you all

True sportsmen! Well done.
When Jonathan is old enough, I'd like to buy him a beer. Great kid.
I'm so sorry that Trump criticized this lovely community...he has blood on his hands.
Faith in humanity restored
"Treat others how you want to be treated"
BIG TRUE
Why, yes, I WOULD like the opposing team to hand me the ball and have no defense so I can get a free shot.
