I wasted hours trying to figure this one out... Thank you so much T_T
Really don't understand why is so difficult to find documentation on a problem that seems so easy to make.
You're very welcome!
This is great! Even as an experienced rigger working in the Toronto animation industry, I learn so much from your videos!
Glad to help! Share them to more people so they can learn !

Dial back the editing. It makes it difficult to see what you're doing.
Using a matte resize (because sometimes there's still a tiny line present), can also help! Great video!
Cool
thaaaaaanks
Even if I do the correct method, I still get a tiny anti aliasing line running through the masked object 😭 My perfectionism is sobbing in a corner.
I got to the end and!!!!! WHATTTTTT bless you Ze, ive been looking for a fix for this for a while. I saw the comp method a few times around but it always felt like more work than it was worth. thank you!
I'm glad i could helppppppp
Okay but the arm is now cutting itself so it doesnt show on render... what am I missing😢
Invert ur cutter probly
2:25 I was actually taught this method by another long time rigger friend of mine. Me knowing nothing I just thought it kinda worked. Must be a legacy method. 😅

Guys, have a question about rigging: why autopatch cutting does not work if i connect it through composite. I try to do absolutely the same, but without composite node, and it work! What is it doing so special that nothing works?
because when you use composite especially in as bitmap mode, basically you flatten the drawing into a single bitmap or layer. So we don't have the art layers anymore, which is basically needed for autopatch to be fully functional (where autopatch is basically cutting the colour art layer drawing by line art layer drawing)
Yes. You need to change the properties of the composite node to: Pass Through
i don'T know, chack my autopatch tutorial?
could be this
thank youuu
Np
Super Trick 😍
Glad to hear
Where has this video been my whole life! The composite trick always felt like slapping a bandage on an open fracture... Thank you Zee!

Oh my goodness I wish I saw this one sooner! I remember I ran into this issue not long ago and almost lost my mind trying to figure out what and why it was happening!
I foundd that using a matte-resize node instead of a increase opacity helped for my issue but knowing that theres a way to avoid the problem entirely, I am very glad that I stumbled across this vid!
share it share it !!! Mor epeople need to learn!
@@ZeBirdBrain for sure! I came across mulitple peole with this exact issue on the official forums who could really use this vid right here!
Hello! I just want to ask about this anti-aliasing issue, I heard that it can be fixed using increase opacity node? What do you think about that? Is that a correct way to fix this issue, besides using your method in this video? Thanks in advance
As I said, increase op should be the LAST resort. Rigging it good in the first place should be more important.
Ha, I remember that composite hack being used on Wild Kratts years ago when I worked on that show.
OOOOOOOOH boy
no way XD this was so mind-blowing damn!!!! it made me historical I can't thank you enough
