After ending their four year hiatus from the label with the fantastic "Beat Organ EP" earlier this summer, 16 Bit Lolitas aka Ariaan Olieroock and Peter Kriek are back with another huge three track EP.
Title track "Deep In My Soul", was an instant office favourite, and picked up it's first play live on BBC Radio 1 from none other than Pete Tong during his Essential Mix with Sasha at Privilege in Ibiza. Fusing their trademark melodic grooves with an infectious vocal loop, Ariaan and Peter deliver a real anthem - one as equally potent poolside as it is in the main room, as Tong and Sasha can testify.
Equally memorable second track "Premium Emo" takes a more leftfield approach, built around gliding guitars and soaring vocals over a breakbeat groove. First heard in their ABGT guest mix earlier this year, "Premium Emo" is yet another 16BL classic.
"Higher State" rounds off the EP in style, showcasing the deeper end of Ariaan and Peter's musical spectrum. Soulful, jazzy melodies make way for rolling low end grooves and energetic synths in an another complex gem.

It is not a coincidence that all those who listen to have the same sensations. This rarely happens with a song that others can just pass unaware, but not to us. This piece is absolutely sublime... By the way, somebody else in 2022.

Chus + Ceballos played this near the end of their set at Stereo the night of Anjunadeep Open Air in Montreal and it brought the tears pouring out after I and everyone else in that temple had already sweat all the liquids out of our bodies from their house burning set. The thoughtfulness of including this track for all of us who had been in attendance at Open Air earlier, blew me away!

Found this on Pandora last night. As an 90's version house kid it was the awesome influence of culture that was transparent in music then. Because it's simple to adjust to at 128bpm's soul house dub, ambient and jungle all have a very big ace in my heart! It set us free from the captive world that abuses and argues who you really are. Hip hop and rap have always been all I could do but up until I was 18 I realized that it was growing bland... Hence the collectives and art entrepreneurs of today's decades are laterally influence by native culture and tribes from all sounds. It's great and techy!!! Love this wave patterns subs and all the magic in the music!!! Thank you 16 bit! Awesome tracks!!! Party monster
Corría el año 2015, viajábamos con mi hermano 450km para ir a escuchar a Sir John Digweed a "La estación", un predio ubicado en ese entonces al lado de un monte/montaña, en medio de la nada.
El gran Digweed nos deleito con unos tracks misticos, amorosos, turbios, potentes y llenos de sonidos extraños y melodias fantasticas asi como la palabra FANTASTICA significa.
Ya se acercaba el cierre, ya había salido el sol, no recuerdo si eran las 7 o las 8am..... no encontraba a mi hermano y a la otra parte del grupo con los que fuimos, decido ir adelante de la pista, bien frente a la cabina, y empieza a sonar este HIMNO, con esos bajos deliciosos indescriptibles, y me lo encuentro a él, a mi hermano, mi compañero, mi mejor amigo, y el resto es historia........
En conclusión, hablando de sentimientos y recuerdos, este HIMNO fue el track que mas me marcó en una fiesta, por vivirlo junto a un familiar que tanto amo y con el cual compartimos esta pasión, cada vez que lo escucho se me pianta una lagrima recordando ese hermoso momento.
Todavía siento el pecho vibrar, y mis labios se mueven cantando " DEE DEE DEE DEE DEE DEEP IN MY SOUL"....ahí es donde guardo ese momento magico, profundo en mi alma. :D
