Just returned from our trip to Costa Rica and spent 5 days in Samara. Just fell in love with this town. The people were all so amazing! Live music every night by ridiculously talented artists. Already miss it terribly!
LMAO, you got me good when you said "yeah so come invest in Samara in a mini golf place instead of sitting in your cubicle", as I'm actually at work sitting in my cubicle. lol
Excellent information. You mention some opportunities that Samara has, and that can actually work. It is very interesting to hear the experience they have had.
I’m pretty sure we sat next to your table around mid-June at 2 Gringos. You were having chili guaro shots with friends. Good insight on Samara. We really loved the beach and vibe but definitely noticed the lack of activities for long term life. Like I’d miss good roads and trails for cycling. We’ll probably be back there but going to explore elsewhere too.
Cool! there are a lot of people that live here full time and there are aot of activities you can do. A lot of locals bike both road and trails, especially in thr hills. Definitely come back and stay with us at Sea Casa! www.seacasasamara.com
So good to see you after our stay with you last week!! Thanks for the tour of the other coast side towns, glad we came to Samara. Hope to see you again.
Thanks for watching Nancy and we hope the rest of you're retirement celebration trip was amazing. Definitely come back and see us, with your husband as well. He'll love it here!
Hello, thanks for the down to earth info...My wife is from the Philippines and i am from the USA...we want to move to the USA but my wife is having a hard time with her Visa and here on this island there are issues with violence that we want to avoid. Costa Rica is our choice as Filipinos are welcome there with a 90 day visa and me from the USA it is visa friendly too, so we plan to come visit and spend a few months soon ( May) to see if we fit in...right now we are waiting on our baby boy to be born then we will come check out the area....it would be great to connect. Your videos have helped us relax a bit about visiting there....we are aware it is more expensive to live there but it will be worth it to be safe.
You're welcome! Yes Costa Rica is a safe place, more expensive then other areas but you get what you pay for. We do have our rentals so if you want to come check out the samara area you should book a stay and we can sit and chat while you are here at Sea Casa. We have no problem sitting with our guests while they are here. You can find the links below to book. Have a great day
Thank you guys! Awesome overview of so many places. I have been on the fence I guess due to the "issues" going on worldwide right now but I have decided, thanks to you. As a retiree I am leaning towards Playas Del Coco but you have done all the legwork for me. Great job!
Our friends stayed at the Riu the first time they came, fell in love with Coco. Bought 2 condos and now want to move to samara because Coco has no community feel. Coco is a party town. Definitely check out Samara before you decide. You can book with us at Sea Casa www.seacasasamara.com and if you live it we could even build you a container home which is less expensive then a normal house
Thank you for your video's very helpful. My husband and I are from Canada as well. We will be in Playa Del Coco Beach in a few months taking our first steps to decide on moving there. :)
I'm coming May 1st. English teacher with Intercultura. Thank you so much for the videos. Was debating between Sabana Oeste and Sámara. Mostly for accessibility to things but your videos kind of swayed me toward Sámara...lol.
Recently discovered your videos. Love ‘em! We’re looking to retire in CR and your videos are very helpful. Agree about Manuel Antonio- loved the park, but the area is way too touristy and expensive! Very disappointed in the beach because of the people trying to sell us stuff. The park beach was very nice though. Anyway, looks like we’ll be heading to Samara a few days based on your video, come mid December, 2021! Community, family friendly, nice beach.
We have our tickets for ten days mid December, 2021. Haven’t nailed down the itinerary yet. I do love your container apartments though- nicest I’ve seen!

Thank you for such a great video. Exactly what I was looking for! I was reading that Samara has about 6 months of rain, as opposed to Coco or Tamarindo where they have a lot less. Can you please shed some light on weather/rainy season in Samara? If you posted a video addressing this already, I didn't find it. Can you please post the link? Thanks!
Hehe... 🙃 You have beautiful places there. I also live in Samara. Only on the other side of the planet. in Russia. Here, in Samara, there are also great places where you can swim and sunbathe on the beaches in summer... Only there are no crocodiles and other dangerous animals here... But there is delicious beer and ice cream on sunny beaches🍦🍺⛱️🌞
