UTB I have to agree with most of the other comments, the stairs would be better in the middle room, but it will be the bosses decision at the end of the day. 😁

Tony, you look 10 years younger without your hair! I agree with the majority; the stairs would be better suited in the room next to the kitchen. A tall pantry with multiple shelves accessed by a ladder attached to a metal rod at the top would look nice and appealing to the eye in that kitchen corner. Thank you for saving this chateau.
hi again, i would personally put the staircase in the other room. if, heaven forbid, there was a fire in the kitchen, it would travel quickly upstairs. having it the other room looks better too. love watching your progress
Definitely put the stairs in the other part ,it looks like it's made for the stairs and nobody wants kitchen smells lingering upstairs if they can avoid it x
Just finished watching and just wanted to let you all know how much I enjoyed! Hadn't even thought of the stairs being the "missing piece"! Whoever was the architect of the Chateau sure was good as even the Cottage has such good classic proportions! Now that you cleared away the overgrowth you can really see that!
I agree with others that the stairs would be great installed in the vestibule, and keep the large kitchen open. No smells, clean design lines. And great options for additional kitchen features!
I love everything about this vlog , tell Tony he looks younger without the scruff !! The Chateau looks amazing from the main road and it will look even better when you guys get it to where you want it to look . Nice intro with the dogs , just love them....
What a great Monday morning I had a large coffee and I got to go on a journey thru the french county side, pick up a staircase and take the scenic route back thanks guys. You certainly got a lot of work done on the cottage and I love the cupboards. Thanks Ash and Tony for another great vlog.
Amazing time capsule to remember ❤️ what it looked like when your family started the restoration process. Three years later and the cottage and rest are almost unrecognizable from what they used to look like.
Always happy when anyone scores a great find/bargain. Very handsome staircase. Happy to see the progress/team work. The staircase would look wonderful in the vestibule.
Great buy with the staircase and I think out of the kitchen is the best place for them based on what the video shows. Kitchens can be noisy at times so the sound going up the stairs is best avoided when possible. The grounds are going to look great once summer comes around now you have cleared so much of the weeds etc. Great job all of you.
Hello from the state of New Hampshire! Big change for you all to move to France, as it was for me to spend three years in Bradford UK ! Our New Hampshire country side resembles that of France. There is more available open land. The dense population of the UK was another world for me. We are a working farm family on 350 acres in Central NH. Grass-fed beef. What a good decision to take on this project! I will admit that I enjoyed Yorkshire Pud and a Bacon Buddy, but French food is one of my favortes! At least you are accustomed to driving on their side the road. Took me two tries to get my British drivers license! Nothing wrong with using restoration substitutes. Sometimes those older buildings were not built with the best materials. You must be bowled over with all that SPACE ! Looking forward to following your channel. ~ Cheers! Diane
Hello, thank you very much. Yes the space and land we have is a world away from what we had in the UK, I bet your family farm is just beautiful 🥰 thank you so much for following our family journey ❤️🏰
Sandra Ford- Thank you for the correction. Are you British? I am American and worked in West Yorkshire from 1992 to 1995. My memory is not as good as it was over 25 years go. On that note, one day I needed the corporate secretaries to text Mick. He was headed to Farnell Electronics. He sought me out later to show me what the secretary had texted. It said, " Go to FINE OWL!"
Bonjour, j'ai decouvert votre chaine ce week-end et j'adore votre projet. J'ai commencé à visionner vos vidéos, et en même temps je révise mon anglais 😊😊😊. J'ai hâte de voir la suite des travaux. 👏🏼👏🏼😉🤩
Thanks for a lovely trip. Thinking of the warmer weather coming for all you chateau owners. Stairs will look great in the hallway. The Chateau looked stunning coming in from the road, Wow, just wow. Just enjoy the time you have together and we can't wait, as yourselves to see the coming transformations x ❤
Love your update guys and the introduction was superb - as well as seeing the pet shop. It was great touring France with you all and then Seeing the staircase in the house. I am with the many others that it is far better in the other room rather than the kitchen but we have to remember we won’t be living there. It is going to be really special and seeing how hard you are working towards this huge family home with three generations is amazing. Tony you look a different person - bet you got some stick for having the long hair 🤣. Looking forward to your next update and thank you👏👏
This is another vote for the stairs going in place in the lobby area between the kitchen and salon. It is always nice to have extra storage or an eating space in the kitchen.
Wonderful video as always. Keep up the great work and the old lady will shine again. My husband and I are raising our nephew as our own son. I love seeing you two being in your nephews life like that. We all enjoy your videos so much.
If the staircase fits in the vestibule, I think that's the best use of the space. Only if it really messes up the layout above would I put it in the corner of the room.
The Chateau is coming to life!! 🪴 I’m sorry to tell all the hard working adults in the family.....that Jonathan is the star of the show🏆 And where did that kitchen come from?🧚🏼 Loved the time-laps!!!!

Yes, totally agree...put the stairs in the vestibule. With stairs in the kitchen, all cooking smells rise...a real pain! Great vlog, its great to hear your plans and to see things beginning to take shape. We loved the fantastic cupboards and units in the soon to be kitchen, and the idea of an interior herb garden...mmm...an idea to copy maybe.
Just watched for a second time. So glad you did ended up putting the stairs in the hallway. They are a perfect match and you did a masterful job Tony. The kitchen cabinets are superb!! Please don’t paint them! They are high end cabinets and not meant to be painted as you probably know. That kitchen will look magnificent when finished. Well done both of you as usual. 😊👏😊👏😊
Great video! This episode was really well done. Ya'll are really advancing leaps and bounds in your video editing, and putting the cuts into a engaging episode. The stairs look quite nice. They seem almost made for the walk between. I have to say that the gardening and revealing of the grounds was my favorite bit. It just opens us the place so much, and shows so much more of the chateaus' character. The kitchen cabinetry look good can't what to see how it laid out and painted. So excited to see what Ya'll do next.
Sorry I missed the premiere, bet Ash thought it was his birthday when he could wear a T-Shirt for the first time after the long winter. Good bit of work has been done since the last time. And what a great find, finding the stairs !!! Tony I would agree with you, go for the hall as it is the normal position for stairs and large enough, also the kitchen smells will not go up into first floor bedroom area that way. A large kitchen is just luxury, so why not keep it that size and have a grand big table also acting as an island or peninsular ? Keep up the good work !!!

Great video, things are really coming along! That's a great idea using the feeding troughs for herb gardens. Thank you for the drive, beautiful countryside, the town is really pretty. Glad the stairs are going to work out for you! I really enjoyed watching! Take really good care of yourselves, stay well, be safe! Much love Kathy x
Love your kitchen cupboards, timber colour very stylish. After many years in business, you would be surprised how many people have not put much thought in stair placement, and never thought of how it would work getting furniture up them, glad to see you guys are thinking the placement through so carefully, getting it right can save a lot of frustration in the future. So glad you are keeping the eating troughs in the kitchen....they are to die for as indoor herb gardens as you said. The kitchen is going to look incredible. Looking forward to following your progress.🇦🇺

You guys are so hard working... The stairs where a fantastic find. The scenery on the way home was lovely. The French countryside is rather magical. It will be nice when the rest of the family arrive. It must be difficult being separated. Although I am watching this months behind.
Another terrific video - you guys are getting good at this lol. Totally agree with what most other people are saying about the stairs - put them in the little vestibule, which is otherwise "dead space ". That also frees up space in the kitchen and doesn't compromise the kitchen in any way when it isn't vital for the stairs to be in there. You are total grafters - really impressed with what you are doing.
UTB
I have to agree with most of the other comments, the stairs would be better in the middle room, but it will be the bosses decision at the end of the day. 😁

Thank you very much, definitely agree with your ideas 👍🥰
