- I did want to talk about this because it impacted me so deeply and I wanted to keep the conversation around her alive. I also want to remind people that she was senselessly taken from our world and the dynamics of a man not being able to handle the rejection of her having a boyfriend is something that needs to be addressed. What happened to her shouldn’t happen to anybody. It was unfair.
She would had turned 29 last month, compassion was a trait of hers something I'm a believer of. This incident did put me in tears honestly. A great night prior to ruined in chaos.
She’s my age & I feel like the answer is cancelling all live shows & artist with fan’s interactions…but maybe that can make it worst.
I just feel like fandom & accessibility is the demise for most ppl. Everything about this is not mentally healthy but I hope everyone in this situation finds peace & happiness.
I lost a lot of friends & family in my life & I was Christina’s age. I lost my sister last month, it’s a long story that I can explain. But I see everyone & realize how sick this world is, like the matrix

i was 12 when i heard about her passing, i think it was my first actual heartbreak, i still remember crying night and day. Now after Naya Rivera died i feel exactly the same. Its horrible.

I just remember being shocked. It was shocking above everything else for me because she had such a bright future ahead of her and I also hadn't followed her for quite a while at that point and had assumed that she was just doing well for herself. Horrible, horrible feeling to relive.
Grimmie's passing literally is the biggest thing in my life. Even though I don't think about her 24/7 and don't cry over her all the time, actually rarely since I got 'used' to the thought, it always comes back to my mind. Nothing broke me down like this. And it will always bring me down I some ways. Hope it makes at least a little sense. Sorry. Thank you for sharing

@@xdandychiggins I have lost both parents, had many other tragedies, and know of many more throughout history. Humanity lost a great person and role model when she was taken from us, and yes, I count this loss right up there with the loss of my own parents. Their being gone affects our family, but Christina's loss affects humanity.

This really hit home. My wife and I are in our 60s but we feel the same connection with another Christina -- Perri. Her music, her mental health advocacy, the tragedies she has overcome in recent years. Because she puts so much of herself out there and has such a close relationship with her fans, I worry about that 1 person in the crowd who takes her openness the wrong way. We finally got to see her for the first time last summer and I was concerned about the lack of security.
Anyway, we truly appreciate the way you opened up about your experience here. We felt it. Hope you have found some peace in the years since.
I'm deeply sorry you had to witness something like that. Lately I've been thinking about what happened and I still can't wrap my head around such a thing years later.

This is a lovely dedication of yours to Christina. I loved Princess Diana the same way that you loved Christina and cried my heart out for about three hours when it was reported that she had been killed in a car accident. However, I must say that I was very sad and shed a tear when I found out that Christina had been murdered. I didn't love her as much as you did, but I did love her beautiful voice.
Hey, I’ve been a fan of Christina since 2012 and I was so heartbroken when she died. I used to watch her funny RUclips videos all the time in middle school. I cried a lot that week. I’m so sorry that you had to witness that, that must have been absolutely traumatizing. But I’m glad that Christina has such a dedicated fanbase. It reflects on how talented and what a great person she was.

Christina Grimmie was the first online personality I saw on the internet back in 2009 before she became famous. She was the most genuine person ever, as they say - the whole package, all in one. I remember thinking that she's the type of girl I want to have in my life, I never been a fan of anybody I've never met in life, but she was the first persona like that in my life, I did not even noticed that, only years later I understood.
It hit so hard when I saw the news that she was shot and that she is dead, I've never experienced so much attachment and pain of losing, I did not even was obsessed with her, I just loved her, the fact that she exists and I wanted her dreams to become true!
One thing I still remember and carry in my heart is the words of Christina - “let your feet follow your heart”❤

I've never really been affected by an artist dying until I heard about Christina passing...she was the first artist I ever found via RUclips back in like....2011? maybe 2012...and i remember crying when I woke up and saw the news...and i was just empty and sad feeling the rest of the week and would silently cry seeing the news talk about it the night after as well while I was at a social event....I still can't listen to her voice without tearing up because she was so amazing and had such a gift....thank you for sharing.

Thank you so much for sharing. The impact of Christina Grimmie in my life was huge. She inspired me so much, I started playing guitar and singing because of her. The day I heard she passed away was a shock that is still difficult to accept today. Unfortunately I never had the chance to meet her, but I am so grateful that she touched so many lives with her music.
I’m so happy that you were able to meet her and have that moment. This loss will never sit right with me. I picture having a Time Machine and going back in time to prevent it from happening. So much was lost but she gave us so much in a short time. It’s a gift that I can go back and watch her videos. She was such a special person. We are all here to endure this loss together. I wanna hug you so bad. :( I remember just HEARING the news that she passed, and crying so much because I had been following her since 2011 and downloaded her first EP, saw her on the Voice, etc. ... I can't IMAGINE being there when it happened. I'm so sorry that you had be there for that, but also happy that you got to meet her!! Always focus on the positive and cherish that moment that you spoke to her. I know she's looking down on you and smiling now.

I'm crying listening to your story. Christina was/is awesome. I went to rehab 2 weeks later. Her death was part of my bottom, along with the pulse shooting. I've been sober ever since and listen to Christina daily. Rip Christina...forever in our hearts. Consolation is she's in Heaven now because of her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. I hope to meet her one day in our Lord's presence...
I hear you so much! My first time out of rehab, the FIRST thing I did was go on her youtube. I had to use my brother’s phone in the car to watch the videos because my phone had like 200+ text messages PRIMARILY her tweets that I missed while she was gone bc I had them all sent directly to my phone. I wish you the best & remember you’re not alone. I’m so grateful she even existed.

That is what allows me to deal with it the most. Her song cover of Titanium saved me from suicide after I heard of what happened to her. It was almost my time that night if it wasn't for that song playing and listening to the lyrics.
Thank you for sharing this, I cannot even imagine how traumatic this was in your life. Christina was one of the first RUclips channels I subscribed to and she got me through two toxic relationships and so much more. She was just such a genuine soul and her voice!! 😩 So much talent and so many songs and covers we will never get to hear 😭 Her memory living on has made it a little easier to bear, but still makes me cry whenever I go to her channel some days. I remember when I met her in March 2016 when she came to New Haven, CT. I can't imagine how you felt knowing you were there last night. I was devastated when I woke up that day to the news and to this day it still hurts me. Ya know I just hugged her a few months before like you did that night and it rips your heart out. I don’t know who you are, but I’ve been watching a few of your videos tonight. Girl... I am so sorry about the things you’ve gone through, especially with the night of Christina’s death. You are so strong! I couldn’t imagine being there the night of her leaving the world...I just couldn’t. I was actually supposed to go see Christina in Orlando that same night, but no matter how much I begged and asked my mom to go, she said no. I hate to admit it, but looking back on it now, I’m really glad she said no because I honestly have no clue about how I would’ve handled the situation. I can tell it has deeply taken a toll and traumatized the people that went. I’ve looked up to Christina since I was a kid and still do to this day. Heck, the girl is the reason I started RUclips and to play piano. It’s a shame that the world is so cruel... Christina Grimmie deserved the entire world, but the world didn’t deserve her. This proves that no matter how good of a person you are, no matter how well you play your cards right, death can catch you at any moment. Christina was a true light, a pure and beautiful soul. I hope Heaven is giving her a more better time than she had down here.

Trying to think a shooting was going to happen that night felt so impossible but then on top of that Christina was going to get shot? 3 times??? And killed?? And then it’s like.. I was right there and saw everyone running out and I saw the gurneys and everything.. I loved her sooooo much too and she really helped keep me alive A LOT. I wouldn’t kill myself sometimes just to hear her sing one last time. Music may not ultimately save someone, but it can help so much.. *sigh*

I was in Orlando that weekend and didn’t know she was there otherwise I would’ve 100% gone, and I was a super fan like you. can’t even imagine being there. I’m so so sorry you had to go through this. Hey from recomendations! I became a fan of Christina's music very recently. You were lucky to come and see her that night, even though that was the last show in her life. Physically she's not here anymore, but spiritually she's alive. So I think she knows that the amount of her fans keeps growing, even though physically she's dead. She put all of her soul into the music

I have the same experience - I mean to have somene who's such a huge inspiration to me. She's not a singer but youtuber and I was lucky enough to met her two times, I flew overseas to meet her and it was awesome and wonderful and best moments of my life - I can't wait to meet this girl again. And I cannot, I CANNOT imagine anything happen to her. I think by now, I actually can consider her as my friend and I can't even think of her getting hurt in any way and getting killed when I was meeting her - I cannot imagine that. this is one of the saddest things i've ever heard. i dont usually believe people when they claim a singer has helped them but in this case i certainly believe it. i was with her in 2011 when she was first on radio disney so i've been here since the start. i was never a major fan of her or followed her normally but i've always really loved her and continue to love her still to this day. i remember hearing about it so i was so upset all day. it really scared me and it really upset me to know someone i really loved died and i didnt know how to deal with that shit

I feel your love for Christina (I have someone else in my life I feel the same you do, but gosh, I love Christina so so much too) it warms my heart to see how genuine and kind she has been to all the people. I am so upset with myself, and that is the only thing I regret, that I became too late a fan. I knew her already since 2015 from the Just a dream cover and titanium cover. But I had no idea why I just didn’t focus myself more on her, when I found out she was dead, it was in November (I know late… my family went through a hard time because we had a death in our family, the first one I had to live through) and since on I started to listen to her music, watch some videos. In 2020 it started completely, all my love showed up for her then, and I just hate me literally for not loving her before already… she is one of those people I’d have loved to meet and to talk to. You were so lucky to have seen her and talked to her. It breaks my heart so much to read and listen what all the people felt when it happened, I tear up so much. But what I wanna say is, Christina loves you, so much and I bet she listened to this in any kind of way that is possible.

I first heard about her in 2011, had the biggest crush on her. Not to the point that I had to have her to myself, but like genuine caring love wishing her the best life forward. I remember hearing about her passing and I broke I couldn't believe it. I wish I could of met her and hugged her, we had a lot in common. It's very sad, may she rest in peace. Christina Grimmie was always a big inspiration for me wanting to start singing, I will never forget her I still hurt that she is gone even though I don't even know her.
I can't listen to her music without crying so hard she had such an amazing voice and she was so amazing and she will continue to be missed 💔
I also remember that day so well. I live in France so I learned about it in the afternoon. I was playing in a concert because I played the flute, and we had a final rehearsal before the concert.
I woke up on that day and I got ready, and then I remember going on youtube and watching some of Christina’s videos, which I did pretty much everyday at the time because I had discovered her channel just about a month before this, so I was still in the « honeymoon phase » where I was just watching her videos all the time and discovering all the things she did. And I remember thinking that she was just so incredible and so talented.
Then I went to rehearsal. We played for about 45 minutes and took a break.
During the break, I went on my phone and opened twitter. I scrolled down for a little while and saw a tweet from Zoella talking about « What happened to Christina Grimmie » saying that it was awful without going into detail. I started wondering what happened. So I opened google and looked up her name and I started seeing all of these articles saying that she was shot. I wasn’t expecting it because Zoella’s tweet was quite vague.
Then, I remember that my parents arrived to the place where the concert was, and I ran up to my dad and told him about it. I was obviously very sad and shocked, and I remember being even more shocked when I told him what happened and his answer was « Well, these people on the internet are always involved in weird stuff ».
I'm sorry you had to be there and experience that. Christina's life has been such an encouragement for me to be the light that I can. I hope that you can continue to heal from this, and thank you for sharing. Out of curiosity, what are some of your favorite Christina Grimmie songs/covers? I'll mention just two for now: "In Christ Alone" and "I Dreamed a Dream". :)

I legitimately never heard of Christina until today and I listened to her music and just started sobbing because her future was so bright and Idk why but I feel like I lost a best friend who I never knew I had. I feel so bad for you…I’m so sorry you had to see this happen to Christina. My heart hurts and breaks every year. No celebrity death (besides Alan Rickman RIP) has hit me as bad as hers. Her death is just before my birthday…in 2016 it was my 18th birthday. I followed her since the very beginning of her career…I watched her grow and be on the Voice. She started to become the star she wanted. She was a pure Angel…I wanted to meet her someday but now I’ll never ever get that chance. The day she died…I cried all day…it was my birthday soon and I was graduating high school that weekend…it was supposed to be exciting. I did have a friend take me out because the news was so devastating for me that I was almost hyperventilating the last time I cried that day. Overall, I hope she’s in peace now and watching over all of us fans. Because her fan base is huge. We will always love her and support her forever. I’ll never forget her. I’ll continue to talk about her, support her music and foundation, and love her.😢💚🙏🏼
Gosh I hope you are fine. I wouldn't be alive eventually if I have seen this in person. It was so tragically that I even did a cover song back a few years ago. It's absolutely sad.. I can't imagine how hard or crazy this must have been for those to see live or anything similar.

This was so tragic, not only for her obviously, but for her legion of young fans who obviously felt a strong connection who are forever scarred by the selfish act of a madman. So sorry you had to experience that.
I remember going to see her perform on the voice, the top 12 or something had a concert in universal studio city walk, for free and I showed up and I took 3 trains just because I was finally gonna get to see her live after adoring her voice for years in RUclips. Seeing her thrive on the voice was incredible, I was so glad I got to see her live I screamed her name and tried to get her attention SO bad but she was having the time of her life on stage, she was so busy on stage having fun , at the end especially with her friends from the show. This tragic incident stole my heart, it was right before the pulse shooting , so all around it was such a rough time. I think about her all of the time, she will never leave my heart. God bless her mom as well, her and her mom are in heaven together again. Rest both of their souls and I hope her brother and father are doing okay . Such a hard tragic thing to live with, I still can’t believe she was taken away from us.

My best friend and I used to do covers to her covers pretty much in 2011-14 . And I remember always playing her music in my first car and being so excited when I saw her starting to make her way up the ladder. When this happened I remember being shocked and I just cried for her family and I was sooo hurt for her. She was showing compassion as she was taken away from the world.. rip Christina 💔

Since the time I was little,I've always wanted to meet Christina Grimmie,I was her huge fan and I love her and I really wanted to go to one of her concerts,and the night she passed away,well,my mother told me that she passed away,I was heartbroken and I cried all night and I was devastated for days😓😓 and her music always cheered me up and I still love her now and forever, she'll always be alive in our hearts ♥️and it's hard to accept the fact that she's dead even now,she was a genuine,loving, benevolent young soul and I still miss her even now💔💔

Her death is one of those things that never sit easy with me. Idk how I can find peace with that. I witnessed my parents or other older people freak out about a celebrety death that I barely knew or "felt". Even Micheal Jackson. I really liked his music and it was kind of a big deal. But with Christina I freaked out myself. It took over a year for me to realize that she isn't there anymore. I can't really express what she gave me. I think I was 14 or 15 when I discovered her and it was like a click. Her voice, the songs she covered.. I listened to her like you would listen to "established music". I believe that it somehow has to be this way. But it really feels like something that is just wrong.
I mean the best thing I can do is to let her inspire me still.. But then the Ego chimes in and is like "Man she would be 28 right now... How would a world with her look like. She was so down to earth."
Her memory will live with us..💙 I'm happy to know that there is some people who won't forget about her

That has to have been so traumatic to have witnessed. I witnessed my uncle's suicide and then my friend 4 years later, which happens to be 4 years ago, committed a murder-suicide and even after my own experiences, it's just so hard to comprehend a murder like this being something that could even happen. I also marched in the Washington DC Pride Parade in 2019 when everyone started running because they were super terrified of gunshots and was caught up in what felt like the stampede too... I unfortunately really can imagine what this might've been like for you. I feel so awful for Christina Grimmie.
It's gotta be so surreal to have given her a letter to read later and then know she was murdered and just was all of a sudden dead before she got the chance to read it. :(

I recently just started becoming Christina Grimmie fan like a week ago. I feel depressed about how she died but somehow that makes my faith stronger even though she and I have different religion. I'm started getting obsessed (NOT IN WEIRD WAY) with her even though she already gone but the legacy remain and i can still watch her past life. For some reason i found that she is super attractive for a person, reason for that is she playing games, watching anime/read manga, movies/ sing, basically almost perfect for an idol. Juana Villegas, thank you for having dedicated a video to Christina. She is my absolute favorite singer. He had a natural and breathtaking talent and a sweet and melodious voice. I am very sorry for what happened to her. She deserved to live and had her whole life ahead of her with a successful future and a brilliant singing career. Christina was beautiful. We will treasure what she left us and she will continue to live forever in our hearts and thoughts. I would do anything to bring her back to life if it were possible. I hope his soul is now in Heaven on God's right hand, illuminated by the Holy Spirit and surrounded by a choir of angels. I miss her very much and without her I feel sad. I loved her more than my own life and I will never stop loving her. I will always carry her in my heart and I will listen to her songs every day. I will dedicate a collection of poems to her that will be released in about a year. I share the pain of this sad loss with all of you. I hope this comment will console Christina fans. I also hope that Kevin, that bastard, is in Hell where he deserves to be for killing the girl of my dreams. I hope God punished him. I found Christina on RUclips when I was 14 (I’m going to be 27 this year). I remember that being the first time feeling genuine shock by how amazing her voice was, so shocked that I binged through the videos she had uploaded at the time and emailed Ellen about her in hopes she’d be on the show. When she passed, it was so traumatic because Christina was the purest human ever. You didn’t need to know her personally to recognize that. Her faith was heavy, and I feel that that is partially why her time came so soon. Her soul was fulfilled. And maybe not, idk. But God bless her

I had always been a fan of Christina before RUclips was such a popular thing , Christina was one of the only people on RUclips I followed . Every song i’d search up, her covers would come up, and I’d always watch her videos and when she got on the voice I was like so excited and at universal city walk, they were having a free concert with all the top 14 contestants and I took a bus and 3 trains by myself without a cell phone at the time, just because I wanted to see Christina . I didn’t care about the other contestants, I only went for Christina and I remember thinking like am I really going to go all that way just to see a quick performance? & now I’m so glad I did and it makes sense why I traveled that far , I feel so blessed to have seen her live . In hindsight it was pretty crazy for me to travel that far , but it’s absolutely a blessing that I was able to see her perform and I have that memory because she was such a light in the world and I still think about her all the time. Christina is still so inspiring to me and I still can’t make sense of her passing, it still hurts my heart . God bless Christina, and I hope you’ve found healing from this traumatic experience . Christina had so much love for us fans, and she knew how much we adored her , I wish I could’ve met her. Her and her mom are reunited on the other side and that brings me peace , I pray for her brother and father all of the time . Christina’s murderer took so much away from that poor family , it makes me so mad.

Im the same age as Christina wouldve been and Ive watched her since her zeldaxlove days.. The morning she passed I knew something was wrong. I couldnt sleep before work and checked twitter (which I never do) and saw all the hashtags of prayers for Christina and I didnt know what happened then before work I found out and bawled my eyes out. After work I had a date as well and I had a hard time doing both after hearing about it. It still hurts my soul to this day. 💚 I hope her and her mama are in heaven right now.
I never listened to her music or met her; hell, I didn’t even know about her until today. I don’t listen to the media, because I had other things on my mind. But it really hurts me that such a kind human being is taken away like that by a creep. At 22 years old!! Her career was about to skyrocket into the stratosphere, but all that was taken from her. Your obsession is more healthy; like a friend looking out for another friend. But the man’s obsession of her was toxic and psychotic.
I remember how I found out . It was the day after and I went to check check her FB for something . Idk if it was a benefit she was doing or what but all I saw on her page was RIP Christina and couldn't believe it . It really broke my heart . I can't imagine how worse it was for you . I'm sorry u had to experience that .
