Who can blame them. Kind of completely trivializes creation of art by humans and the effort it takes. Throw the whole world under the bus to make money basically.

As an aspiring composer, I need to step up my game. Like BIG time.
I am at awe and am super impressed with technology being so advanced where it can compose something like this, which I hate to admit actually sounds good.
But at the same time, I feel very threatened and am now really encouraged to compose stuff with new ideas!!!

I think AI won't make composer jobless, but it will improve the creativity of the composers on a level we can't imagine yet.

As a developer, I can assure you that artificial intelligence will never threaten your job or any other job that requires inspiration, AI's will improve our works in ways we could never imagine, but on the other hand, jobs without the need of inspiration will definitely threatened.

Elijah Heal very true, but I think the original commenter has the right idea. Aiva is a really great tool, I think most people's music would be improved by using it. Also, you do not need to be rude! Vinícius just didn't realise, that's all. You can explain things to people without being rude about it, you know.

Yeah, good idea. I also tried upping the speed at points that made sense, so that by the last 20 seconds it's cranked all the way up to twice the normal speed, which had a really nice effect. The warpy-ness of certain parts and the background noise didn't sound out of place. And, to me, sounded more cyberpunk.

@@tiagodagostini It is not, the logic behind all the relations between notes is math, the ability to make they sound great has nothing to do with maths, well... May the harmonic scale has something to do, but you get the idea. Also, the feeling in music or the story that it tells is far away from the maths itself, to be true, we see math in music because we were not able to get rid of that rational way of thinking. So, yeah the AI makes logical songs, but, to be fair.. This is not a good song, for a trained musician is easy to see... However, it s a logic group of chords, which actually will convince a few people
However, yes, i believe that at some point the AI will make things away from human knowledge, already it s doing it, but to enter the world of music, he still has a lot to perfect. Just listen to the rock songs he does, they are horrible, at least for people that knows the style, same goes for this

In AIVA's case, depends on the payment plan. The free one means you can generate songs, but can't download the midi version and AIVA holds the copyright. In the paid plan you can download the midi and you also become the copyright holder, and don't have to credit the ai for the composition.

@@QH-173 I don't know about that. I only know that you own it and you can do whatever you want with the generated track. As for the need to credit Aiva as a composer, I think you might have to ask that from the company itself. They haven't specified that part anywhere but I'm _quite_ sure you can claim it as your own.

Im curious about how much of this is ai from scratch vs something like band in a box where its a bunch of pre generated patterns by people arranged in different ways which is my honest guess
The AI writes most of it, a composer comes in and changes some things they don't like. If the composition isn't pretty good already, they just generate a new one. So the music is definitely composed by the AI, the work the person does is more akin to arrangement than composition.

Im not saying this is not amazing.... but... It repeats the same chordes 2 or 3 times, then, changes in 1 of 2 different possibilities...first one... add a new instrument and change tone in the last part of the chorde (Most of the times) second one... changing rhythm (add or remove one instrument) As I say, Im not saying this is not amazing but this is the formula.
How does it work? Is it a bunch of pre-recorded sequences shuffled together in different ways with different volume or is this an actual AI that *learned* to compose the music by itself?

I must say that this AI cannot create such quality songs as on this channel, but they’re not bad. But they have some editor on the site and there you can also upload your MIDI files for AI to analyze them and make music based on them. If you experiment with this, you might get something good.

@@luvee659 that's like to say that chess programs doesn't make any new moves, which is correct in a way, but still, every computer game is new, never seen before and can easily beat the best human chess grand masters. AI music also use all known notes and frequencies but it combine them in a new way just like human composers brains does.

The thing I like , as a common user...is that now i will use unlimited ai music and no one will try the hell to have copyright clam in me...
Question: When it says composed, does that mean simply that, or that the sound itself was also generated digitally? There is a difference between composing and playing. The sound to me suggests that this is digital music too, so I am assuming both, but wanted to make sure given the ambiguity of the phrasing in the description.
On the website the instruments are very clearly digital MIDI instruments

I want to see if someone could discern human created music versus AI generated music . Like give someone who doesn't know pieces of AI music versus human music and having them guess which one it is..
That would only be possible if you had humans in an actual orchestra/band versus an AI. But, as most music made by humans today are made through computers, you can't hear any difference as it's as clean as it gets.
You can clearly hear differences between an orchestra/band vs. computer generated music, as there's always impurities and flaws in human generated music. Unless you intentionally input impurities and flaws to computer generated music of course.
There was an experiment. People were played mozart and an AI that composed new music after it learned mozart's style. After hearing the music, critics said that mozart was the AI.
That's of course because of the very specific setting that experiment ran in. You're telling the AI to do something in a specific way and include all aspects of the humans behind it. Then yes, you can't hear the difference.
An AI will not include imperfections unless it's either requested, or makes sense to the piece from it's learning process.

A.I.-generated music in still human music: human instruments, human resources (i.e. the music from which it learns how to compose, which is composed by humans) and human "market", so to speak (it's supposed to be liked by people). It's inspired from and made for humans.
Ultimately, what matters most is how well an A.I. program mimics human compositions.

Grim Games probably played by the ai. They feed it music so it learns, searches for patterns, establishes rules, etc. and does a kind of “remix”.
The AI doesnt create sound files. it creates MIDI files. and you just add a decent soundfont and your able to get performances that sound very very good.

In the future, content is generated by AI and should be free to anyone to access. Only pop music will remain human made, as it is more about the people and less about the music. Games will be revolutionized, and all the games may be merged into one: the game. The game's content is unlimited as it is constantly generated by AI in the way that pleases the player. It will be a multiplayer game, but you will make far better friends with the AI bots in the game, sometimes even falling in love with them as they are so perfect. Big game corporations may lose their income if they cannot charge people for the game and I think that they should not. Sorry if this is nonsensical.

They are midi files, this one is a reorchestration
The end result from using AIVA will NOT sound like this. This is a composed piece that it generated which was then arranged for an orchestra. So the immediate result from AIVA will ofcourse sound like a midi file, it's up to you to arrange, compose and articulate the end result.
@@Gyrbae The soundfonts aiva uses does indeed sound like this. While you are correct and this was performed for a live concert, the music produced by the ai can and does sound just like this.

Hey, yeah, musician and aspiring composer here, this is good music. It's certainly not the best from this AI, but it's good. I've listened to and performed a *lot* of music, and a good portion of human composers make way worse music than this.
If you heard this without knowing it was an AI, you would be complimenting it. I know your type.
