Here at Sun Distributing, we believe that the supplier of the window film should know every aspect of the business. It makes it hard when a tinter or tint shop needs support but their supplier does not know the business from one end to the other. I started as a tinter helper in 1989 and worked my way up to the point of distribution. Along the way I have put together a successful retail tint shop and know every hurdle that a tinter and/or shop owner could face. I believe that there is an extreme value to having a company with our experience in the industry having your back.

Very very good video ,thank you so much brother. I'm from Cambodia 🇰🇭
@autofilm1165 I loved visiting Cambodia! Many times. The people are so generous and amazing. ❤
Totally awesome channel! Thanks for your efforts to make it publicly available
Thanks for all your tips and tricks.
Your the Goat! great content!
By cleaning the bottom first arent you sending dirt from the top down to the bottom and leaving contaminants down under the bottom seal?
my thought process as well, have you found any info on if its ok or not to clean the top first or bottom first and why? thanks to anyone that chimes in. Beginner tinter here!!
My tint dude just sprayed some soap water and started tinting he definitely didn't clean the windows thoroughly
You are the freaking best at it 🎉
Great video, always learning 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. Thanks
What do you do if they have a sticker, like a anti theft sticker?
Where do you get the sticky plastic from?
Hello Matt hopping you are doing great . Do you know of any product that would remove armor all or any other type of greasy dressing from door panels it is almost impossible to tape anything on door panels or any other plastic trim when that stuff has being applied.
best regards. thanks
Question, what about the tempered glass letters on the glass, if theres any problem with that? Mine are some thick. Thanks
Is the soapy water just dawn and water? Or what soap is best
Hey man. Love these type of in depth videos . Just one question. Can the razor blade damage seals when cleaning the side seals? You said it butts up against seal. Also more videos like this please 🙏🏻.
Possible but really unlikely if you use it safely. The edge is against the glass so the blunt side of the razor might bump against the seal but that’s all. Glad you like the video!
What kind of tape do you using on sidings
Quick question! I have a 2022 Subaru Ascent Onyx Edition and I would love to window tint my front window but the modern Subaru’s use a 2 front camera system and those cameras don’t reach anywhere near the front windshield to kinda have an idea in where to cut the tint.. thought it would be a good idea if you please made a quick video on that or if not a comment would be fine! Thank you and thank you for your DIY videos
Officially from Subaru, don’t do anything to the windshield. From what I hear from other tinters, a light film like 50% and up won’t effect the system. no one could guarantee that tho. I wouldn’t ever do a windshield strip or try to guess where the cutout area is and rely on the system working. Too much guessing without trying a bunch of things
We tend to leave some dust specs even after cleaning just as instructed. Any tips to eliminate those remaining contaminants?
Thanks
Yeah do it in the garage
Great job
hello sir. can you tell me which type material of glass sides windows we ovoid clean it by blade to avoid scratches glass. and how we van know thats glass material affect by nlade.
please answer my question 🙏.
thank uou
You can use a blade on all glass. Toyota has a newer yellow glass coating but it’s not something ur gonna run into unless you do a lot of new Toyotas
Am I doing too much by scraping and scrubby padding the whole window? Sometimes I end up with little smudges on my glass in the light and I have no Idea how they got there. Can't tell if it's a spot I missed or excess soap suds??
Probably not the cleaning, either the glue stuck a little while sliding it into place (might hear some sticking or popping sounds). Or it’s air gets stuck in the glue when squeegeeing air pockets over an area you already tacked down. These films have a pressure sensitive adhesive so once it’s pushed onto the glass, it’s made to stick to it.
nice tips..
So you tape any window regardless of felt gasket or not? because Ive only been taping when the felt is present
Yea, it’s way less helpful on a new car with a rubber seal. But on an older vehicle with rubber seals, they build up a lot of dirt. I’ve been tinting for years without tape and since I’ve been using it, it helps with the random specs here or there on the sides. If you haven’t been tinting long, it’s going to be waaayy more helpful that that.
steel wool grade # 0000 to scrub the windows. Is what i use have you ever heard of that
Steal wool leaves a lot of metal "lint" behind. Sure it's scrubs the glass clean but it leaves more of a mess than what you started with.
Yea, I use to use it for removing glue. I don’t like that it flakes apart and rusts so I moved to using scrub pads instead of need be.
@@DetroitTintStudio Yeah it's single use and has to be stored properly. I saw the aftermath of someone trying one of the "ball of lathe spiral offcuts" scrubbers, looked like the glass had been hit with a orbital sander! 😂 😂 😂 😂
Dude you not doing all that cleaning to every customers windows lol that would literally take two days to tint
If you take care of your customers, your customers take care of you! -Business minded people! He's been recording himself cleaning, and tinting vehicles for years! Nothing has changed, and he's added ways to clean more efficiently for him! If your to lazy to clean each vehicle, that's on you!
I'm always getting dirt in the corners I work at a dealership and tint about 8 to 10 cars a day some as last minute sales.i wash the cars first as we have a drive thru car wash then I roll windows downs blow air in the seals to looseen all the transportation dirt .then wipe the window seals and door panel inside.get my tint ready clean glass with razor and squeegee then peel my film and apply to glass yet still have dirt find its way into the corners.yet after I peel the tint off and start over I come out with flawless film ..what am I missing it's very frustrating.it doesn't happen all the time as since the car crisis we had lots of cars sitting for extended time in railcars gathering dirt for months now that we're getting cars again those cars are making it to us with massive amounts of dirt on them
Have you tried tape? Use something like this and see if it helps. I use to not tape anything. Most of the dirt is just the install but tape helped clean up the random specs on the sides.
313tint.com/products/seal-guard-for-covering-side-seals
@@DetroitTintStudio haven't tried it due to time constraints most dirt isn't anything the customer sees..it's just what I see that bothers me.ill try it tomorrow see how it goes
This is pretty much the way I was taught and is very effective. Appreciate your videos! Keep the tips and tricks coming!!
Hey, good tips. It's amazing how we keep learning.
Hi, I recently started tinting and have been using a blue scotch bright to quickly scrub over the window, is that overkill( can I not do it and get the same results) or is it a good practice to keep using
Place another piece of tape to sandwich the door "carpet" plastic with a bit of overlap on the tape.
Thank you Tint Dude. I'm learning a lot!
Is it okay to use Optimum No-Rinse car/window wash solution as window slip for tinting? You're very diligent and I can tell you're good at what you do. Thanks for the tips.
baby shampoo is cheap and works perfect
Use Johnsons baby soap in a zep bottle...usually 7 pumps
Is the tape supposed to help you slide the tint easier? I am new at this and want to start my tint business. So I am trying to soak all the info I can. Did my first two front side windows on a hummer H3 and they were a PAIN.
I think the tape is so the tint doesn't stick to the panel and to keep debris from getting between the film and the glass
The tape is like having a brand new seal. It covers and holds any dirt from it getting into your tint. So especially when ur new, it keeps the sides much cleaner
Thanks fellas. Much appreciated.
I found the razor blade creates micro scratches if you hold a bright led light to the glass.
u can use clay if you're worried about a customer holding a light up to your install
He not doing this with every tint job or he charges too much
I don’t have OCD but if I start cleaning like this I’ll OCD lol
Nice video! Thanks for that🤙🏽
Good job bro love u from Bangladesh 🇧🇩
Good skills. Thanks for sharing.
thank you boss
what do you do with the tape after the tint is completed? just peel off right away, and with the window up or down?
doesn't matter, the window can be up or down and the tape wont interfere with the film.
좋아요~~
What tape is that . Can I get it at Home Depot or lowes???
House wrap tape or sheathing tape. You can find at any hardware store. I just came out with a cheaper alternative that works just as good

It seems little bit time consuming. I respect your efforts to tint better quality and saftey.
it is time consuming for sure but this is what puts you apart from the other guys who don’t clean as good
*safety
Preparation is key
€440 to pay to tint my two cars with 3m carbon tint (Ireland)
Or
Less then €200 for
30 meters of Suntek Carbon 2 ply range and all tools to do it myself.....was convenient doing it myself and after watching you content(witch is very good by the way ,well done) I'll do it myself👍🏼
howd it turn out?
I know this sounds crazy… BUT what if I put down 70% ceramic all around a car. And then put regular tint after so I don’t have to buy another expensive roll
