This feels like a somber but sweet melody For childhood when your in school with your friends and having fun with them during break but the somber part is when you grow up and you and your friends drift apart Cause sometimes friends will drift apart and nobody knows why
I think the way people appreciate Yume 2kki is so, like, emotionally connected to each one of us that it's hard for any two fans of it to be able to look past how strongly they're bonded by that interest and be hateful to one another
it's a work of art similar to something like a painting but which you need to directly interact with. the gameplay is slow and the reward is mostly only seeing more of the world and that means almost all of the people playing are interested enough in that world to commit to being in it themselves the world itself is abstract, it doesn't tell its own grand story. it lets you fill in the blank for what it means, what it reminds you of, what it makes you feel for that reason, 2kki fans are just naturally bonded more closely together. they share a very similar appreciation for a very specific type of art
I saw that someone replied saying all 2kki fans are "connected" and "bonded" by the gameplay and the worlds, I had the complete opposite experience when I played 2kki online or particpated in the discord server. The community is toxic, very judgemental, full of trolls, full of mentally ill teenagers, and it's just not a very welcoming place if you don't fit in into those categories, so I ended up leaving. I just play 2kki and other fan games offline alone now.
@@nyadev2kki of course has its downers like every community but i do think the other comment sort of has a point seeing as 2kki/ynfgs aren’t really something you can just Consume and leave alone; 2kki especially is a continually-growing art project that carries a unique meaning on a case-by-case basis and i think a lot of people respect that. but idk, maybe i’m biased, i don’t engage a lot in communities anyway and i’m rather fond of YNO for the ability to venture into, say, the depths, and see another urotsuki waiting for me, knowing that there’s someone else loving the worlds with me on the other side of the screen hahaha
This gives me a strange feeling of nostalgia. I don't know exactly why, but I miss something that I don't even know what it is. well, hopefully in 5 years I can come back to this comment and answer my question about what I'm missing now.

(jk, people are too doomer and fatalistic about these things, but they genuinely don't matter)
