    That town you are calling Serhiivka is actually called Sergeyevka. Also named after the Russian Revolutionary Fyodor Sergeyev (Revolutionary name of Comrade Artyom or Artem), along with Artyomovsk (a.k.a Bakhmut), Artemove (a.k.a Zalizne), and Artemovske (a.k.a Kromove).
    This town is uncorporated (ie, just a hamlet), probably why the Ukrops did not force them to change the name of the town in 2017. Kind of like Kalinina. A couple houses doesn't really count as a town.
    Fyodor Sergeyev, Comrade Artyom, was pretty much the greatest Russian Revolutionary of the Donbass, he was their George Washington. Probably why he had like 20 towns, hamlets and even apartment Commie blocks named after him.

    • @Lin-pr8sh
      @Lin-pr8sh Месяц назад +1

      Why short oil companies heading into a possible war? You do realize in shorting your risk is infinite. I would rather buy oil companies that don't use that strait than short .... but that's just me. Companies like ENB for example are just Canada, North America and France. EOG is Just North America with 1 south American project near the port of spain in Trinidad

      @MadeleineTakam Месяц назад +1

      @@Lin-pr8sh No idea, husband is in bed. Shorted Friday afternoon. But from my understanding he makes lots of money if the share price goes down. I presume if the Strait of Hormuz is shut the share price will drop like a stone. He seems to know what he is doing. He bought into DJI shell company holdings (You can’t buy direct) when Ukraine civil war started, so he seems to know what he is doing. No idea why he does it we don’t need the money.

    • @Lin-pr8sh
      @Lin-pr8sh Месяц назад +1

      @@MadeleineTakam Very good, I assume he knows what he is doing then, I typically don't short, just play the long side. Short side can make a lot quickly when things go their way, but can also get squeezed horribly when things don't work as foreseen. My risk management is to avoid shorting - there are better things to do with ones money - but again each to their own, I just don't sleep well shorting anything overnight. As long as your husband has good stops in place and is experienced in swing trading he is probably fine. Its just not my cup of tea - no criticism, just respect and my opinion nothing more.

    • @Rob-gg4sd
      @Rob-gg4sd Месяц назад +2

      @@MichaelHolloway I think you hit the nail on the head with “Timing” Their doesn’t need to be a war. Saudi Arabia are just itching for an excuse to restrict oil flow without diplomatic ramifications. They certainly don’t have a cash flow problem, so are happy to take a short-term hit, for long term gains. Markets open in a few hours after the weekend, a lot of nervous people are going to be moving out and the share price will have taken a dive by 11am GMT. Shorting on Friday will have already made a nice windfall.

    Встань за Веру, Русская Земля!
    Много песен мы в сердце сложили,
    Воспевая родные края.
    Беззаветно тебя мы любили,
    Святорусская наша земля.
    Высоко ты главу поднимала -
    Словно солнце твой лик воссиял.
    Но ты жертвою подлости стала -
    Тех, кто предал тебя и продал!
    И снова в поход!
    Труба нас зовет!
    Мы все встанем в строй
    И все пойдем в священный бой.
    И снова в поход!
    Труба нас зовет!
    Мы все встанем в строй
    И все пойдем в священный бой.
    Встань за Веру, Русская Земля!
    Ждут победы России святые.
    Отзовись, православная рать!
    Где Илья твой и где твой Добрыня?
    Сыновей кличет Родина-мать.
    Под хоругвии встанем мы смело
    Крестным ходом с молитвой пойдём,
    За российское правое дело
    Кровь мы русскую честно прольем.
    И снова в поход!
    Труба нас зовет!
    Мы все встанем в строй
    И все пойдем в священный бой.
    И снова в поход!
    Труба нас зовет!
    Мы все встанем в строй,
    И все пойдем в священный бой.
    Встань за Веру, Русская Земля!
    Все мы - дети великой Державы,
    Все мы помним заветы отцов.
    Ради Родины, Чести и Славы
    Не жалей ни себя, ни врагов.
    Встань, Россия, из рабского плена,
    Дух победы зовет: в бой, пора!
    Подними боевые знамена
    Ради Веры, Любви и Добра!
    И снова в поход!
    Труба нас зовет, нас зовет!
    Мы встанем в строй, в строй,
    Мы встанем в строй, в строй,
    И все пойдем в священный бой.
    Мы встанем в строй, в строй,

    "not confirmed yet"
    No, but with THAT geolocation?
    It's almost impossible for UA to be anywhere behind that if Russia is clearing those trenches. If the trenches were shorter and more separate from each other then maaaybe, but like that, no. The terrain just doesn't support it.
    I would even say that it's more likely your update may be a little too conservative.
    Not that the likely difference would be large, so totally doesn't matter either way.
    And of course, there might be some holdout somewhere along that line as well to invalidate part of it.
    But overall, again, your mapping update is likely closer to reality.

    Putin is a tyrant and a certain parallel can be drawn with Hitler regarding foreign policy. Hitler occupied Austria in 1938, Europe's reaction was lukewarm. Putin seized Abkhazia and South Ossetia from Georgia in 2008, the reaction was weak. Hitler won the Sudetenland in 1938 and later marched into the Czech Republic. In 2014, Putin occupied Crimea and helped the rebels in Donbass. And then in the end, after so many concessions, Hitler attacked Poland in 1939 and Putin attacked Ukraine in 2022. Both had complexes of national defeat and resentment. Hitler because of the Treaty of Versailles, Putin because of the collapse of the USSR.
