Thank you for not doing what every other reactor does and put qualifiers on Misa’s bass play. One of the best. Period. Full stop. Not “female”. Not “Japanese”. One of the best.
She's not better than Geddy Lee at what he does, or better than Flea at what he does, or better than Chris Squire at what he did... but she can match all of them in many ways, and does some of what ALL three of these legends did. I can't think of a single other bass player that has the range of skills at the level she does. And maybe more importantly, she has Kanami's composition work to play off of, and plays with one of the tightest units ever. They're like Alice in Chains level tight, and that, combined with her skills, is what makes Misa's playing amazing.
@@mikeholmes5308 Well put. I just hate when reactors feel the need to compartmentalize Misa’s play in a specific category of bass player. These guys do not, and that deserves mention and recognition.
When it comes to the music everything is dedicated to the song. I’ve listened to most of their music and I haven’t found a bad song yet. Some songs may not appeal to me as much as others but it’s still well written.
Thanks for advocating for people to see them when they come. I hope their rising popularity means they get to play some larger venues. While the small venue performances are sometimes fun to watch, after seeing the Yokohama show, one realizes that they are an amazing arena-level act, and that they deserve to play bigger venues. Dying to hear when their next North American tour dates will be.
Helloooooo Fayette-Nam! I was luke-warm when this song first came out but after about a dozen listens, as usual, Band-Maid song just keeps getting better. This is just another killer theme for Anime "Grendizer U".
Reminds me an old 'Lady Ga-Ga' song at the start, & the end. Not a bad thing. Kanami playing lead & backing harmonies in the background on her PRS, for most of the song. she is so good at that, in a lot of their songs.

MISA, with her bass, like Kanami with her PRS let's their instruments do their talking.

Love this song
By the way, "Ou lala, Ou lala" is Maid-speak for "We're gonna kick your ass!"
How about when the Ladies release their new album later this summer, you get it and do a song by song reaction to the whole album?
*BAND MAID!*
New album coming out *soon-ish* 😃😃
