I WILL NOT continue this project because: "Unreadable code (for some people), disorganized, repetitive, not optimized and almost no use of object orientation." HOWEVER, I started a more organized and Open Source project, you can see in my GitHub link. The new project is already available for download, but it still doesn't have everything needed to make a complete fan game.

What does telegraphed mean?
@@megakoni1 To telegraph something is to show someone your intent. An attack is telegraphed by the wind-up animation that plays before it. For example, one would telegraph a punch by pulling their arm back and balling their hand into a fist. For an example from Megaman X1, Chill Penguin telegraphs his windstorm attack by jumping up to the hook in the ceiling, hanging on it, and facing the direction the windstorm blows in. Storm Eagle telegraphs that he's going to dive at you by flying up off the top of the screen. Flame Mammoth telegraphs the conveyor belt changing directions by blowing his trumpet snout. The Dragon Tank telegraphs that it's going to shoot its giant electric balls at you by moving to the right side of the arena, and lifting its top half a set distance above its bottom half. Rangda Bangda (wall face) telegraphs how many projectiles its eyes will fire at you, and whether it will move its eyes toward you, by changing the color of its eyes. Hell, Megaman himself telegraphs his Charge Shots with the color-changing energy particles that he absorbs, and telegraphs which special weapon he has equipped by the color of his armor.
I watch this episode almost every day because it's so fascinating to see Bass.Exe especially in a X scenario. Bass.Exe himself just screams the ultimate enemy in megaman games and he is personally my most favorite megaman boss cause I actually have to use strategy and constantly be on my toes and not break focus. Someday I hope for a Battle Network Collection so I can battle Bass.Exe like old times!

You obviously forgot the tank cannon, now you have 0.5 sec to react and avoid the shot when you thought he was going for the darkness attack

Not gonna lie, when I saw that this version is discontinued, i was a bit heartbroken, but your current version is looking great. It looks very SNES accurate and controls well. Improving on previous versions is a very good idea! I should know.
However, since I don't have GM:S 2, I was wondering if I could make an open-source MMX engine for GM:S 1.4 users similar to this discontinued version. Obviously it wouldn't have Bass or any of that, but the menus, screen resolution, Zero using a saber and X's upwards dashing by default serve as good standards for non super-console-accurate Mega Man X fan games, at least to me (I would really like to a fan-game like this). Would I be able to?
Of course you can! I don't want to share the discontinued engine because the project is very disorganized. I started the new engine using GameMaker Studio 1.4 too but I decided to switch to GameMaker Studio 2 to improve the animation system, tilesets, language optimizations, etc.

I didn't make much progress on the new engine recently because I was quite unmotivated, I still haven't added basic things like the X weapon system, or ladders.

@@MMXEngine - Thanks, that's very kind of you. Whilst I'll probably code my engine from the ground up (it's not bad, it's actually very neat and well written. I'm just unfamiliar with it), the new engine is definitely a good example of where I'd like to aim for in terms of quality and accuracy, it may even help in understanding some of the mechanics.

Bass seriously is like the Vergil from Devil May Cry series version of MegaMan universe! Imagine him using the Yamato Saber aka B-Saber. That would be so freaking badass!

Lightning attack is impossible, but the rest looks good and excellent sprite work and backgrounds, it’s so smooth
In the Zero series, I think it was 3. Zero could go into cyberspace? It could be possible for X or Zero to meet Megaman exe universe.

Just found this and its was cool seeing BassEXE as a actual boss again. I hit replay with the "Occupied Wily Fortress Boss Battle 3" theme playing for thats the last Bass battle song I remembered over it haha.

Megaman & Bassand Megaman 10 and Mega Maker exist, there also the metroidvania fan game Bass AbbyssBy IRAgination, but it was made in flash and most modern browsers do not want anything to do with it nowdays (and adobe will drop it entirely soon too)

Bass with Beast Cross (Bass BX) mod:
- Gregar Buster or Falzar Buster: similar to Shooting Buster. If Gregar, Bass is grounded and send bullets, while Falzar, Bass is midair and send feathers.
- Gregar Fire or Falzar Sonic: the positioning and range are similar to Gospel Breath.
- Gregar Thunder: use your Bass' electric attack but color it yellow.
- Falzar Firebird: use your Bass's rising fire attack, but color it red and shape it like birds.
- Gregar or Falzar claw can use similar feat like dark arm blade, but use claws and combo it like wild animal.
makes sense since Bass is called the Dark Messiah by some.

For Emerl, it was Bass.Exe from Megaman Battle Network series.
As for the song, it's the remastered version of Canonball (the final fight against Omega in Zero 3).

WHAT SORCERY IS THIS!
Giga plot armor
Ultimate atracks (aura vanishes when Bass is doing these attacks, but he cannot be flinched):
- Earth Breaker: green energy slam attack that approach his target location. The slam produces horizontal shockwave.
- Gospel Breath: sends black flame into the ground when he is midair.
- Vanishing World: charges up at the one far side of the screen and moves up down to enemy location. Sends a blast that covers the whole screen, except a tiny location in front of Bass just beside Gospel maw.
- Darkness Overload: charges up darkness then suddenly moves to in front of target to create a black sphere that covers a lot of area. Dodge by moving behind Bass.
- Chaos Nightmare: summons a large dark sphere above him, then throw that into target location. The ground is on fire a while and damages enemies.
That's so cool!!
Oh god, X using the X3 footpart upgrade without the footpart is so weird.
If only a version of Bass was in the X series...

Defensively:
- Dream Aura: yellow aura that allows only max buster shot to damage him. Just like in MMBN, weaker (non charged) attacks are nullified.
- Dark Aura: aura with its own Health bar and prevents Bass from flinching. Needs to be destroyed first. It can be destroyed in one hit with Wind based weapons.

You know what would have been cool in the x series. If dr light put some of megamans memory into x and he started to remember thru x1 and in x2 sigma finds bass and since hes not in physical form no longer at the end of x1 he infects bass with the sigma virus and makes him stronger and x finds out who made bass and more about his past etc.!

Wouldn't it been interesting to see bass and treble in x and they adapt to the times despite being considered 'outdated'? I know this is bass.exe but always like ide aof bass and treble being in x or z somehow and actaully fairs well depsite being considered obselete.
I've already seen a fangame with this idea. Search Mega Man X Future Break.
This is good, but not accurate enough. We need:
- Air Burst: a fast green buster shot.
- Shooting Buster: raids down yellow buster shots that stuns on every hit.
- Hell's Rolling: should be done when Bass is on air and roll down the rings, not when he is on ground.
- Dark Arm Blade: this is a sword combo. Bass at least should try at least three times to hit, not just once. Once hit, you might make him do 3-combo like original or 7-combo like Shun Goku Satsu.

Really cool, but maybe you could add some telltale sign to when his teleport will be towards your locationfor an attack, while cool i don't feel you should be punishex for not constantly moving, most opponent who hide/teleport give a tell for you to move at the right time.... Then again Wheel gator, jet stringray Colonel also exists, but at least those have consistent timming or the arena itself helps you with the evasion

Of course Bass.exe would not stand a chance against X, X is literally many many times more powerful than Megaman(.exe as well) ever was, the title of "strongest" no longer applies when fighting X.

I always thought of X ( armorless ) being equivalent to Mega.EXE
Without armor? Not so sure about that. X's strength comes from his ability to gain power through armor and gaining weapons from enemies. Without armor, X is a B rank Hunter. Bass.exe has all the power he absorbed through the years at his beck and call at all times.
No actually, armorless X always was very powerful even compared to Megaman, even from the very first X game Reploids were very powerful compared to a standard robot, in fact armorless X's power and potential continue to grow since it was proven in X2 that X can gain armor abillities without even having to equip it.
@@razi_man Hm. I suppose that is true. I never considered that he gained powers from his former armors. Just thought the dash was given because it became such a basic part of the gameplay in the first game.
That being said, Bass.exe is far beyond the normal Bass. In a world were all Net Navis require partners to use anymore more than their basic abilities, Bass.exe alone can acquire chip data from his foes and install them directly, seemingly with no limit. I guess it would depend on just how Bass.exe (who is just a program) can fight X. Like, if he acted like a virus (he's absorbed his fair share of those) and infected X? Or is this an avatar body like the ones in...what was it, Battle Network 5? If it's the latter, it would depend on the quality of the body, I guess.

@@venade9997 Yes he still keeps them all. Even though he wants peace and would prefer not to use weapons and armors. He would still keep them to protect humans and reploids from any harm. And its also shown he keeps the armors in the X Challenge and the story. And its most likely for gameplay reasons, imagine starting X2 with all the weapons from X1 and armor. And imagine starting X3 with all the weapons and armors from X1 and X2. The point here is that you'd be very OP and the game would be hella easy if you did keep everything from previous games

Also, update his electric move, so that when he does the 3rd thunder beam, he does the earth crusher (his 2nd best move, that he hit the ground with a super strong hit)

Ouvir o Bass com a voz do Ômega é tão constrangedor. O X dando dash pra cima sem Third Armor também não é legal, inutiliza uma ótima peça de uma armadura muito legal. Devia ficar padronizado os poderes por parte de armadura igual o original, e as técnicas pras armaduras completas: hadouken só pra first armor, shoryuken só pra segunda, e assim vai.
Esse projeto era uma versão antiga do MMXE. Bass.EXE não está na nova engine, pois esta ainda não tem sistema de chefes implementado. Além disso, X não tem dash no ar por padrão e só é possível usar hadouken com a First Armor, assim como só é possível usar shoryuken com a Second Armor. Eu apenas quis implementar essas habilidades antes de adicionar os sprites das armaduras a que elas pertencem.

I always have felt like lightning attacks should have a tiny window if telegraph. I think it's sort of cheap to just expect people to memorize safe spots. Dynamoman is an example of this done wrong, but Hivolt's lasers from megaman ZX is a much better way.

When a Boss cannot be beaten on your first try no matter your skill level then its probably not a good boss. Especially that Electricity attack. There is no way to know that its coming or from where without prior knowledge.

That thunder attack is terrible. No tell at all, you have to know the attack to dodge it. Otherwise the battle looks k.
