I love star wars so much it's so cool this universe is magnificent l will forever be a star wars fan it means so much to me star wars is important it's everywhere it's in our culture
I feel the same way; it is incredibly important to me. I’ve had a lot of trauma in my life, and I feel so much empathy with Anakin and Maul. Out of curiosity, how old are you? One of my favorite things about SW is how the fans cross so many generations, so will ask folks their age sometimes.
Me too, I grew up with the original trilogy since I was born in 1981. It seems to me that both the prequel Jedi and the Sith were too narrow in their views about the force and about destiny. They both believed that destiny couldn’t be altered, but of course Luke proved them both wrong. I guess even Yoda and Obi Wan weren’t as all seeing, as Gandalf once said “Even the very wise cannot see all ends” if you get my meaning? I’m sure that Qui Gon also believed that Anakin wasn’t truly gone, that he could be redeemed.
@@ahsokaventriss3268I really love how much it crosses generational boundaries too! The tones and character arcs are still relevant 46 years of the franchise started. The period between the release of Return of The Jedi and the release of The Phantom Menace was arguably when Star Wars was at its lowest level of visibility. Yet even then there were video games, comics, short stories, novels, tabletop games and physical merchandise that all added to the lore. At this point it has become such a foundational piece of modern culture that so many of the characters, phrases and locations are universally known far beyond those who've even consumed any of the content. I was born 5 years after Return of The Jedi was released so I rewatched it countless times as a kid and when I was a preteen I was at the front of the line to see the Phantom Menace when it was released. Now I'm seeing the elementary schoolers in my apartment building wearing Star Wars gear and dressing up as Star Wars characters for Halloween. It's one of our greatest modern mythologies.
Star Wars showed how importance of vision and the art of editing is. You need a person with a clear vision and you need editors to bring that vision to reality. If you don't have those editors to clarify your vision, make sure you have an amazing TV showrunner to clarify those thoughts in 7 seasons of TV gold. Or let a turntable of creative teams with disjointed ideas without supervising any of them and retcon things as they move along.
I remember George speech about joy vs pleasure in a video on ‘why Luke skywalker is important’ really describe what the jedi and Sith are and differents between Luke and Anakin journey together.
The ending especially reminds me of Jedi Master Orgus Din's final words, when asked if he's ready to die. "There is no death; there is only the Force." Yes, it's just a line from the code, but the delivery is what sells it. He's absolutely, 100% ready to die, but he doesn't see it as death. To him, and to true Jedi, death is just the next step toward becoming one with the Cosmic Force. Orgus, if he'd brought the Hero of Tython with him, very likely could have surpassed Darth Angral, and if he thought it was the right thing to do, he'd have done it. But he didn't. He saw that there was so much more at stake, and chose to give himself to the will of the Force. If it had willed it, he'd have been victorious. If not, he'd still have that little victory.
Agree plus when lord scourge and Kira return to the hero of Tython Scourge talk about being free from immortality have a sense of clarity “Broken his chains” shows despite the Sith code selfish there merits to it because any Sith would kill to be immortal like scourge butto him immortality is just another chain.

Greetings Geetsly! I do not know others but, to me, this is your VERY BEST episode, for it explained Star Wars in a way no other could do. Kind regards! 😉👍🐻❄🐾
I guess both Anakin and Luke can really be the mirrors to Eren Yeager here. Now that I mentioned it, maybe we will see the comparison between Attack on Titan and Star Wars one day in the unforeseeable future.
Specifically Star Wars as it was when Lucas still owned it at least imo, I feel like generally speaking Disney lacks understanding of how to tell compelling stories set in this universe in part because they treat everything (Star Wast, Marvel, live action reboots, etc) the same and it’s part of why they’ve been failing a lot lately.
Here's a question for you how did Darth Vitiate empire gain such a large population of humans? The refugees who fled with him after the hyperspace war were all pureblood Sith so were did a population of humans come from to the point that the humans outnumbered the purebloods several times over, it couldn't have been from groups of explorers or pirates as they would have too small a population to viable breed. So, was there a human planet among the worlds they conquered when they were forming their new empire or is their no explanation.
Man, i really like that angle you pursued for the end of the video. Never really heard it expressed that way from the point that Luke seeing himself in the helmet was an expression of his own destiny that the rest of that film and the next were in defiance of. Well said
Redemption is always a chipper thing, but I'll always admire the occasional fact when otherwise good men stay truly resolved to fight on even for the wrong side of history; a memorable case in point being ace Imperial pilot (and covert Force sensitive) Tan Maarek Stele. The likes of Inferno Squad will still stay cowards in my eyes.
I don't think anyone really understands how deep and complex George Lucas' universe really is. I believe he is a movie-making equivalent to JRR Tolkien, doing for outer space what Tolkien did for English mythology. As the universe is almost limitless, so is the Star Wars universe. Thank you so much for sharing this video. I believe love and redemption are the most powerful forces, and this franchise was one of the first in modern culture to not show evil (Darth Vader) as pure evil. Sometimes trauma, fear, and lack of guidance can make people make bad choices. Ultimately, love conquers all. Many blessings and shalom! 🕊
You are forgotten about the idea of the philosopher king, that Anakin speak with Padme briefly in their picnic, it basically a dictator, and absolute monarch, wise and strong, but completely shut down debate or dissidence, and that idea ha existed during centuries, hell, after Napoleon created his Empire, that idea evolve in the extraordinary men philosophy, men capable of taking power and doing horrible things with it, and getting away because they were in the pinnacle of power.
I love this video, but Lucas was not writing any of this and he's openly stated in interviews It that he wasn't actually trying to be an analog to the war on terror. Principal photography for Revenge of The Sith was done by 2003 and filming for Attack of The Clones was in spring of 2001. He did consider the Gulf War but that was essentially a reflection of the historical American imperialistic geopolitics which have repeated throughout our history. Lucas actually was saying how the timing of the war on terror just perfectly reflects the message of Star Wars about how warfare and tyranny and war just repeat again and again. It just so happened that the next 20 years would prove exactly what his message was communicating.
Perhaps that speaks to the timelessness of what GL presented in StarWars. He understands a great many things to the point they appear simple, and helps us cut away all the 'noise' with his stories.
A very long video, which means my comment will be just as long, sorry. Star Wars is very important to many people for many various reasons. We may not always agree on aspects of it, for example there are a few things you all said in this video that I don't agree with, one of which I'll be talking about later in this comment, which will make this comment even longer(lol), but we can all agree that despite all our differences and opinions we all love Star Wars and it means a great deal to many of use for many reasons. Everyone's experience with it is different. I watched the original trilogy and Episode 1 in VHS form when I was just a little kid, then I went to see Attack of the Clones in theaters with my mom and while the movie theater was too loud for my personal liking I still greatly enjoyed it. Following this I watched the 2003 Clone Wars micro-series as it aired on Cartoon Network and played Lego Star Wars and the OG Battlefront 1 game. Then Episode 3 came out and while I didn't watch it in theaters because as mentioned I hated how loud they were, I eventually got it on DVD and watched it with my mom. Even after all the movies were done my love for the franchise continued, as I then played Battlefront 2 and Lego Star Wars 2, and watched Star Wars the Clone Wars on Cartoon Network, even after the end of the great CN City era, shows like Clone Wars and Pokemon kept my love for Cartoon Network alive, I grew up alongside Ahsoka in the show, and the Clone Wars itself is my all-time favorite show ever. Even after Disney bought Star Wars I kept up with my love, playing Lego Star Wars the Complete Saga and 3 The Clone Wars, watching Rebels and even getting Disney+ exclusive just to watch Clone Wars season 7 when it came out, one of the best decisions ever as it has allowed me to watch other great Dinsey shows and classic like Winnie the Pooh, American Dragon, Kim Possible, Lilo and Stitch, the Owl House, Amphibia, and many others, but most importantly it has allowed me to watch and love many of the new Star Wars shows that have been coming out, Mandalorian, Book of Boba Fett, Bad Batch, Kenobi, and Ahsoka, and now I eagerly await for the returns of Mandalorian, Bad Batch, and Ahsoka. But even without a show to watch my love for the franchise continued, by watching great videos like this, commenting and being a part of the discussion, and making my own stories with fanfictions. And that's not even getting into the fun parodies like Robot Chicken, fanworks like A Clone Apart, or games that I haven't played personally but have watched playthroughs online that I found fun, like Republic Commando, Jedi Fallen Order, and Jedi Survivors. Star Wars is a big part of my life, like a few other franchises, and has brought me many great memories, and it will continue to for the foreseeable future. While it may not be my all-time favorite franchise out there, given my love for other stuff too, it's at least in the top 5 and Clone Wars is still the best show I've ever seen. Now for that thing I mentioned I disagree with you. This being what Yoda told Anakin in Episode 3. Now I get what he was saying, but my problem is with his word choice which was not good, telling someone not to mourn or miss someone they love is bad advice, similar to what Ki-Aid-Mundi basically told Anakin in the Republic comics when he mentioned how much he missed Obi-Wan and Mundi just told him to get over it. Obi-Wan actually explains what Yoda and Mundi were trying to say a lot better with some of his lines and if Anakin went to him for advice maybe he could have used the right words to keep Anakin calm and prevent him from doing something stupid. For example, in Chapter 21 of the Clone Wars micro-series, he talks to Anakin about ui-Gon: "I know. I miss him too. Not a day goes by that I don't look to his teachings for guidance." He still misses Qui-Gon, he isn't doing what Yoda said about not missing and not mourning, but he's not letting it consume him he's still trying to live his life and do good by Qui-Gon by using everything he taught him for the good of the galaxy and for himself instead of letting the sadness and anger consume him. We see this again when he loses Satine. He pulled an Anakin by disobeying the Council and the Republic by going to Mandalore to try and save the woman he loves, but despite doing everything in his power to help her he fails and Maul kills her. However, unlike Anakin who also failed to save the woman he loved, he didn't let the sadness and anger consume him, because if he did, it would destroy him and turn him into someone he's not, and thus is would dishonor Santine's memory by allowing this to happen. But that doesn't mean he doesn't still miss and mourn her like with Qui-Gon, as seen when Bo-Katan asks if she even meant anything to him since he's not trying to help her planet and people, and you see the pain on his face, he still greatly cares about Satine, but if he wants to do right by her and help her people the right way, he can't jump the gun and let his emotions completely control him, he has to be patient and find the right solution to this problem. Obi-Wan right here is a true Jedi, and much like Luke, and many Jedi and Clones from the Clone Wars, he is someone to look up to and try to be like.
Yoda and Obi Wan didn't think Luke was destined to replace Vader. They warned him over and over not to underestimate the Emperor or the temptations. If they thought he would replace Vader it would be pointless to send him to defeat Vader. Not sure where that part of the video comes from.
Hmm. With Anakin they judged the risk of training him to be too high, and there was no great threat as far as they could see that would ever convince them to take such a risk. With Luke they had to risk of Luke falling contrasted with the certainty of Sith galactic-domination. There was always a risk Luke would become another twisted servant of Sidious, so all they could do was harp on about the danger in the hopes he would be sufficiently on-guard against manipulation.
You seem to ignore that the Jedi order at the start of the prequel trilogy isn’t the order that it used to be. The Jedi had become too dogmatic, arrogant, and too detached from the people of the galaxy. They claimed that they served the force but instead they had become nothing more than lapdogs for corrupt politicians, how is that serving the light side? They had allowed themselves to become too political and too stifled by traditions. In the ROTS novel Yoda later realized that Qui Gon Jinn had been right about the Jedi order all along, that they had lost their way a long time ago. He finally understood that he was partially at fault because he didn’t allow the order to change, to adapt to the times. Whereas the Sith had changed, they had remade themselves, and the Jedi only prepared to re-fight the last war. Obi Wan, Yoda, and the Jedi had failed Anakin, and the people of the galaxy by allowing themselves to become soldiers instead of peace keepers. They had become so detached that many of them weren’t as compassionate as they used to be. Just look at how cold the council was towards Anakin a 9 year old boy, they didn’t show him any empathy or make any effort to make him feel welcome the way that Qui Gon did. Aside from Anakin’s worries for his mother it’s only natural that he would be scared being surrounded by all those strange adults on the council. They overlooked the fact that he had been conceived in the force and that he had the highest midichlorian count of anyone and instead focused too much on their narrow set of Jedi qualifications. They were so focused on adhering too much to the letter of the law (the code) instead of the spirit of the law, that being the living force.
So you think the Jedi should have never fought the clone wars? You do realize that a win for the separatists is STILL a win for Palpation right?? ALSO why would so called “peacekeepers” carry a sword??? imagine “fighting” a evil space wizard with “words” and not “force” or violence or something. 🤦♂️
It makes no sense that Vestara Khai would not remain a Jedi in the Fate Of The Jedi Series stupidest decision ever. Redemption is a major part of Star Wars.
1:10:37 Folks that complain about Luke instinctively drawing his lightsaber on Ben Skywalker, need to remember Luke's failure at The Cave. That was very specificly Luke's Dark Side pull: Destroying evil and becoming evil.
@user-yq9im9dk9z Hot Take: Character flaws do not just vanish in a plot beat. They are constant battles that must be fought and overcome again and again and again. That Dark Side pull to reflexively try to kill evil, then become evil stays, lingering. You can succeed, and then fail again, then succeed again, and grow along each step.
@@ReaperOfStories your telling ME that the guy who thought his father Darth Vader the guy who blew up a entire planet to prove a point could be “redeemable” was the same exact “character” who thought his own SON was somehow NOT???

@@АлексейМомот-щ7оYeah it was literally right there in the return of the Jedi when Luke look at his robot hand and Vader cut off hand realizing destroying Vader is the same as becoming him.
It's always fun to look at the deeper meanings behind Star Wars even if I find myself disagreeing with some core elements of George Lucas' philosophy. For example Lucas is very much wrong about how Vietnam and the American Revolution actually went down, the Revolution was won due to the *heavy* backing of the French and the US military actually kicked the crap out of the Vietcong, Vietnam was only lost due to waning public support since the war was dragging, and I don't know what the hell George is talking about with Palpatine being Nixon. Also Lucas seems to be a fan of collectivism which I'm not (individualism isn't inherently evil). Also, I still find the Jedi way of dealing with emotional turmoil counterproductive, Anakin was pretty much told to forget about it which is dismissive and isn't healthy in the slightest. I like George and what he created and think Star Wars does have a lot of good messages but George's philosophy is not without it's flaws.
I our incertain and globalized world, Star Wars is the perfect exemple on how Democracy are fragile and can be taken away, very, very fast. Yes it's easy to listen to a policitian who say "I can fix everything!" But it's not always the right thing to do. And that's why I absolutely love Star Wars and especially the prequels.
The rebels weren’t terrorists because outside of saw gerrera, they’d didn’t use terrorist tactics. I understand that Cameron like meant terrorism in the way the media use it.
Star wars is the best, but one reference is wrong: the American revolution. In those times, America was the small player in a war between giants, the French just used the revolution as a way to mess with the British, and as a side effect the Americans were born... the idea behind it is quite romanticized, whereas what happened really is a bit less nice to think about😅
Star Wars is important to me because it resonates with me in real life or should I say historically resonate with me in real life because so much of his not only Based on events in a real earth history but also in my own personal spiritual history as well. Since I believe in reincarnation like a lot of people do in this world after researching some of my past lifetimes I found several lifetimes that have a lot very similar parallels to Anakin Skywalker’s journey in both the prequel episodes and later on but mostly the prequel episodes. Especially revenge of the Sith. Unfortunately I fell to the Darkside of the force exactly the same way Aniken did in the novelization of revenge of the Sith except in my case the Darkside what is the newly formed French government after the French revolution instead of the galactic empire in Star Wars. Some of my parallels to Star Wars throughout history included the fear of loss leading to the Darkside, betrayal, False manipulation caused by powerful political establishments, Redemption at the end, suffering a partial death or death of an identity ( like Aniken did on Mustafar while transitioning to his alter ego as Vader), and many more. Like Aniken story my fear of loss during the French revolution was rooted In earlier events, But instead of earlier childhood events involving loss of loved ones, In this case it was earlier life times where. Previous incarnations of people close to me had been killed several times over Or else I died and left them behind either way losing the other but in my case it wasn’t always the same person that I lost or left behind when reincarnated in each lifetime. In my lifetime from the French revolution I was A military general and Freemason During “the reign of terror”, in France (which I equate To order 66 during the Galactic Civil War in Star Wars) Again like Anakin Skywalker I shared a forbidden love affair With this young French girl from the upper class Whose parents trading fo bid her From being with me because I wasn’t of the same social status being in the middle class instead, Unlike Aniken’s forbidden restriction by the Jedi for having attachment to Pademe, After her and She lied to her parents and pretended like we weren’t together and then they later found out she was and exiled her from their family she ended up getting pregnant with our kid but I don’t think we had twins necessarily like Aniken and Pademe did.. Her exile from her family came after the pregnancy though, When her parents treat you like a process for having a kid out of wedlock, then we married in secrecy like Pademe and Aniken did.. During this time. I met these evil political extremists That led the revolution and over through the upper class and then tried. To create and evil dictatorship the file that was similar to communism or socialism in the Soviet union after the Russian revolution. Through political brainwashing they manipulated me and sold me on the idea that their government was supposed to bring peace and prosperity to the new republic similar to Palpetines speech lies and manipulations that he sold to the galaxy and most importantly Aniken convincing him that anybody who oppose the new government was “evil and had to be destroyed “ In this case the rebel Alliance and Jedi, Instead of supporters of the old French upperclass or the rebel civilians are rebelling against the new radical government they are trying to enforce, Ultimately leading to the reign of terror similar to order 66. Through lies deceit and manipulation these evil men might have poisoned. Me against some of my own people Iike Aniken was poisoned against the Jedi by Darth Sidious. To make matters even worse they ended up killing my new wife and then covering it up either trying to frame the rebels for the murder or convincing me that somehow it was my fault she died. ( To this day I haven’t done enough research to know which theory is accurate but I’ve always felt like they blame me for her death somehow Possibly by claiming “she died of a heart attack from being heartbroken” like they hinted in Revenge of the Sith. As one of the ways that Pademe died, Without ever really clarifying how she died specifically. In any case the kid was given up for adoption after she died ( like Luke and Leia were) since I went a insane with anger and rage in this past life like Aniken in revenge of the Sith, so I never raised our kid either. I almost died too like Aniken did on Mustafar, Except instead of getting in a sword fight with somebody like Obi One Kanobi, I attempted to commit suicide by shooting myself In the head after going to my wife’s grave and probably crying for an hour or two Thinking that it was somehow my fault she died, And then somebody from the same group that killed her, came to stop me by getting medical help for me like Sidious did revenge of the Sith on Mustafar, In that moment part of me died just like Aniken died on Mustafar Then was reborn as Darth Vader in a completely different persona except I didn’t live in a black suit hyperventilating the rest of my life but I was seriously scarred after that experience which lasted. The rest of my life afterwards. In a similar manner After Becoming corrupted with anger and rage that’s falling to the Darkside of the force I also became very greedy and powerful As a revolutionary general eventually leading to me leading an attack on the French civilian rebels Who were protesting the new government possibly causing civil unrest in the process so I lead a troop of men into their towns and attack them with cannons and weapons blowing up buildings in one scene I remember blowing up the school house full Of teenage high school age students similar to Aniken’s attack on the Jedi temple in order 66 killing masses of “padawon younglings” Ironically this 18th century stone brick school house look like an old church and the students were wearing black and blue Catholic school styled uniforms which would’ve been similar to the Jedi Temple being a place of religious practice as their education and wearing Jedi uniforms as well. As for the ones who weren’t killed in the blast, the rest were sent to giotines and beheaded in the name of “ treason and betrayal to the state. I’m sure that I had some serious remorse for having to perform such Horrible acts of murder, But I was so much rage from my wife’s death And being brainwashed with all this political propaganda not to mention Being seduced by greed. And anger the succumbing to the Darkside of the force And it wasn’t until 140 years later In World War II and a future and time when I became an American spy and spied on the Nazis who again were terrorizing the French only this time instead of wrecking havoc on the French people I actually help strengthen the alliance in France but unfortunately died in the process once again like Darth Vader redeeming himself at the end of return of the Jedi by killing Palpetine and saving a loop of dying in the process. Despite this redemption I still struggle with the post traumatic stress disorder that I inherited into my current lifetime Both from the French revolution in World War II .This is partly due to the fact it in my current life time I met the reincarnation of my ex-wife who had died in that earlier lifetime in 1985 when I was in high school and she try to reach out to me by trying to get back together with me and I thought she was crazy so I ignored her not realizing who she really was until it’s too late after she had gone up your way consequently I never ended up making up for her loss in the French revolution I having a relationship with her in My current lifetime . I think a lot of the post traumatic stress disorder cause me to become very introverted in my current lifetime compared to these other life times when I was much more extroverted. If my lashing out in world war 2 And the conditions of my current lifetime are My penance from the earlier lifetime in the French Revolution, Similar to a Prison sentence of somebody being charged and convicted of a felony pleading guilty Then agreeing to testify against other criminals involved in a much more serious crime in exchange for a lighter prison sentence, With this analogy I still wonder if my next lifetime is going to get a lot better than this one Similar to somebody this in a minimum security prison wondering if they’re going to be paroled for the next hearing are they going to stay there longer even with the plea deal with the excepted it would be like being eligible for parole after two years and still serving a 20 year prison sentence for example.
I do believe that one can be considered at least a party to murder in such a case. Anakin was not of sound-mind in that moment, but he knew conflict was ahead as soon as he left the Temple. He provided Windu with information he knew would be acted on. Like-wise as soon as he disarmed Windu he delivered the perfect opportunity for a Sith to kill a Jedi, and should have known that a Sith would take such an opportunity. Anakin's inability to remain calm and think rationally is a skill-issue.
I was once a true a Star Wars fan, before the dark times, before the disney times. Now there are all but as few true fans left. I would return to the fandom, but, why? All roads lead to the disney era. Why live in the past when now is what matters most?
Star Wars is as much an argument for determinism as it is about free will. Anakin was a product of his upbringing and so was Luke. Darth Sidious was perhaps the only character you could argue demonstrated free will, imo.
Anakin and Luke might've been influenced and changed by their upbringings and environments, but they made their own choices so many times throughout the saga that I feel like claiming Star Wars is deterministic is just kinda funny I get the idea, and I truly don't intend to insult or make fun of it, but in practice, I feel the interpretation just doesn't hold up (unless Lucas himself stated otherwise, obviously).
@@Slipstream317 I mean Lucas stated that the original trilogy was a modern adaption of the hero's journey, an ancient archetypical plot structure wherein the hero is thrust out of their average life and into the hero's journey by an outside force, usually a god. Luke was thrust into the fight against the empire by his home being destroyed and his family murdered because of Leia's message to Kenobi. He did not actively choose to be a Jedi, and were it not for Leia's message he would have died a moisture farmer on the Lars Homestead. Every cause has an effect; free will is an illusion.
I would say Han Solo also demonstrated free will: All his practical conditions pressured him to just take off and pay off his debt to Jabba but instead he returned against his own self-preservation instinct and in spite of his prior predicaments to help the rebellion. Han had zero practical reason to help the rebellion, he hardly gave a shit about the cause and all his concerns were with Jabba, he only went back because of a personal decision he made to do so. You could argue the Jedi don't have much free will as the Jedi are essentially vessels for the Will of The Force, but non-force sensitives (like Han) seem to have far more agency than force-sensitives (especially the ones who follow the Jedi way).
Using this logic, Palpatine was also a product of his upbringing. His ability to pretend to be someone he wasn't, his belief that his position of privilege put him above the law, and his lack of empathy for other ppl all played a part in how he lived as a Sith.
@@decepticonxhunter4850 all good points, it's just his ability to skirt literal mortality which kinda puts him outside of the normal bounds of determinism, but he wasn't the first sith to do that and without his mentor teaching it to him (ultimately a cause and an effect) he wouldn't be outside those boundaries so even then he is arguably at the whims of fate/determinism.
not gonna lie, if there is always jedi, then there will always be sith. The solution to this I guess is to just disband and maybe even destroy both orders.
@@1qplayer626 I think the illusion was broken so they recalculated, but they had not reached anything I can call enlightenment so their new visions were flawed. In a way they began to walk the path to enlightenment, even if they settled somewhere along it instead of continuing on. Deciding that 'these don't work, get rid of them' is a viable solution doesn't strike me as particularly wise. We need to fully re-evaluate and sort useful from waste and from harmful, not throw the baby out with the bath-water.

look, I have no issue with Luke being flawed and more realistic in the sequels. The problem is that he was not written right. Him being easily defeated by an untrained girl is a bad writing of you ask me.

He Knows VERY WELL what he is talking about in real world politics. I thinks you don't know the American Revolution (at least in an Idealist sense) and Vietnam wars (I'm a local, my family fought for our country liberation against American colonialism) went downs, and the relationship between Palpatine dismantling of democracy is the same ways Nixon had did the same.
Lol, SW os good. Or can be, as in real SW not bullshit Disney. But it isn’t the most intricate, not by a long shot, and if you think it is, you haven’t even scratched the surface of real sci fi and old SW lore. Even old SW isn’t the most intricate, Ringo and Weber, jukes Verne Heinlein, all massively better world builders, but you saying SW is the most intricate shows you don’t even know about them, let alone many others, where there’s real characters, no plot armor, just regular people doing what they think they should and being amazing at it. As we do, cause people can be awesome. Especially descants of American military, and they are only trying to live up to the past. Centuries to millenia ago, and meet and exceed the epicness. So you clearly misguided. SW only has a handful of main characters, no masterful writing. The true greats, many of them the same page or far. Far older than Lucas, and wrote before he was born or even thought of, outperform him. And have true characters and development across the board, form the regular guy to the ‘hero’ who is just a regular person doing the right thing, like happens in reality, not some space magic, just good old fashioned people, doing people things. All loosely based on real events, of real people and heroes, or villains. Not incomplete, discordant bs, sadly. Like Lucas and beyond. Except actually good writers. You have lost your way in sci fi, thinking he’s the pinnacle, Lucas was definitely good. But super weird and a pervert from all accounts, including Carrie Fisher, and she didn’t need to say anything to be popular, she was poloular before anyone knew who she was. An amazing and yes gorgeous actress, od love to have her in a film, hideously popular and beautiful that film is gonna sell after episode 4 came out.
SW still has to lose momentum? R u releasing this late or r u really that ignorant to reality? There is hardly much more momentum left to b lost. It has drive fans so far into apathy that the actual quality of the content stopped to make any difference for succes. That's literally zero momentum.
you will never know the real truth behind star wars... most of you do not possess the free thinking intellect. if i tell you that would be too easy. lucas is a brother of the occult. there is your hint
It‘s a shame that not enough people took the time to enjoy this masterpiece of a video
Star wars taught me to cherish what you love and to defend it at all costs.
Then as an adult I saw my nieces and nephews and my friend's kids all fall in love with Star Wars.
Now I'm seeing the elementary schoolers in my apartment building wearing Star Wars gear and dressing up as Star Wars characters for Halloween.
It's one of our greatest modern mythologies.
I can’t imagine my childhood without the original six Star Wars movies because they entertained me and practically shaped who I am today.
"There is no death; there is only the Force."
Yes, it's just a line from the code, but the delivery is what sells it.
I really love how much the interest, enthusiasm and appeal of Star Wars crosses generational boundaries!

What is the main message of Star Wars
"Let Go"
Of your conscious self,
Of everything you fear to lose,
Your hate,
(Yoda, Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon, Luke)
This is the best video on Star wars I've ever seen. It made me totally rethink the way i see the Jedi and the force
George Lucas made art and told stories. Disney makes entertainment products aka soulless corporate shit
Disney don't care. They do whatever it takes to make money, regardless of whether it's in good taste or even sustainable
This video is amazing. Well done like always!!
What an incredible final message, you truly managed to make me have a revelation, well spent 5/4 hour.
Many of my best memories with my parents involve Star Wars. Or anything Star Wars related.

Solid question they should do a video
Man, i really like that angle you pursued for the end of the video. Never really heard it expressed that way from the point that Luke seeing himself in the helmet was an expression of his own destiny that the rest of that film and the next were in defiance of.
Well said
Redemption is always a chipper thing, but I'll always admire the occasional fact when otherwise good men stay truly resolved to fight on even for the wrong side of history; a memorable case in point being ace Imperial pilot (and covert Force sensitive) Tan Maarek Stele.
The likes of Inferno Squad will still stay cowards in my eyes.
"I will serve the Emperor, as I always have."
Star Wars is pretty much the odyssey of our generation
You are forgotten about the idea of the philosopher king, that Anakin speak with Padme briefly in their picnic, it basically a dictator, and absolute monarch, wise and strong, but completely shut down debate or dissidence, and that idea ha existed during centuries, hell, after Napoleon created his Empire, that idea evolve in the extraordinary men philosophy, men capable of taking power and doing horrible things with it, and getting away because they were in the pinnacle of power.
I needed to hear what this video says. Thanks, Geets. We all matter, guys. And we can all change for the better.
I think I comes from the idea that the emperor wanted to replace Vader with Luke as his successor. 🙄
@@benclark4823 read my comment again very slowly
@@TheMinskyTerrorist and you don’t think that the emperor would have replaced Vader with someone else if given the opportunity??? 🤨
@@benclark4823 I'm talking about what Yoda and Obi Wan thought about the situation and what they told Luke
The glory of the old days of SW.
Palpatine does serve as an unredeemable figure, as well as the devil. It's not that he couldn't be redeemed, just that he refuses to be.
I absolutely love the deep dive videos y'all have been making. ❤
1:10:37 Folks that complain about Luke instinctively drawing his lightsaber on Ben Skywalker, need to remember Luke's failure at The Cave.
That was very specificly Luke's Dark Side pull: Destroying evil and becoming evil.
That just means ignoring ROTJ where Luke overcomes his failure. Sequels feel like an alternate universe where Vader was never redeemed.
@@benclark4823 Nephew, but beside the point. I'm saying the pull of the Dark Side doesn't stop just because RotJ is over. Luke will always fight the impulse to kill evil and become evil, and he'll botch it sometimes. 🤷♂️
@@АлексейМомот-щ7оYeah it was literally right there in the return of the Jedi when Luke look at his robot hand and Vader cut off hand realizing destroying Vader is the same as becoming him.
Ladies and Gentlemen, and...that's why I LOVE star wars forever.
A perfect video. Thank you.
I learned about the hero’s journey structure in English and they used Star Wars as an example
The rebels weren’t terrorists because outside of saw gerrera, they’d didn’t use terrorist tactics. I understand that Cameron like meant terrorism in the way the media use it.
Star wars is the best, but one reference is wrong: the American revolution. In those times, America was the small player in a war between giants, the French just used the revolution as a way to mess with the British, and as a side effect the Americans were born... the idea behind it is quite romanticized, whereas what happened really is a bit less nice to think about😅
“The republic is ceasing to be a democracy.” And I am out 😂😂😂😂
It is indeed a glorious galaxy
In a way Luke does kill Vader, by showing his father the way and bringing Ani back to the surface.
It certainly seems that way, from a certain point of view. :D
🤗another comment💞this is a wonderful video💞and I love what you did here🤗
Wow👍Lots of things to take away from this.
A long one, I gotta get my popcorn and turn up the fireplace.
Well, one can say that the democracy was already over when Palpatine was elected. He just made that "Death" more public.
Well said analysis
Anakin didn’t kill Mace Windu, Sidious killed Mace Windu, Anakin just helped Sidious kill Mace Windu.
I mean, technically, any PC that has command prompt can watch a render of STAR WARS (1977)
And Great Horned Mickey has ruined so many things . . .
👍
star wars was dom torrettos mantra
Star Wars is as much an argument for determinism as it is about free will. Anakin was a product of his upbringing and so was Luke. Darth Sidious was perhaps the only character you could argue demonstrated free will, imo.
Anakin and Luke might've been influenced and changed by their upbringings and environments, but they made their own choices so many times throughout the saga that I feel like claiming Star Wars is deterministic is just kinda funny
I get the idea, and I truly don't intend to insult or make fun of it, but in practice, I feel the interpretation just doesn't hold up (unless Lucas himself stated otherwise, obviously).
Thats what the enlightened sith like kreia, revan, malgus, valkorion and many others wanted to do but they never succeeded burning away both orders.
@@1qplayer626 Enlightened? Perhaps you mean disillusioned?
@@dhaburuk6494 yeah whatever you call.them.they are revolitionaries
@@1qplayer626 I think the illusion was broken so they recalculated, but they had not reached anything I can call enlightenment so their new visions were flawed. In a way they began to walk the path to enlightenment, even if they settled somewhere along it instead of continuing on.
Deciding that 'these don't work, get rid of them' is a viable solution doesn't strike me as particularly wise. We need to fully re-evaluate and sort useful from waste and from harmful, not throw the baby out with the bath-water.
@@dhaburuk6494 yeah in my opinion everyone was flawed but you need to make mistakes to shake people to become aware
the best of star wars is NOT what people can identify with but the exotic alien experimental
also the scale and complexity of the universe
star wars would have been way better with just aliens and no humans
Best fucking video you've made to date
And thank the force you left Disney abominations out here 🤘
Vietnam wasn't meant to be "Won", in the common way. It was to prolong and fuel all the systems of war.
Just like todays wars. Just like the separatist in Star Wars. The war is more of a vail.
I used to brag on a friend back in Elementary school about liking Star Wars, only for me to end up loving it.
The bots goodness
"Star Wars has yet to lose momentum. "
-Clearly this channel hasn't watched Kenobi or Ahsoka on Disney+. 😂
I know you're a Star Wars Lore channel, but try not to make such bold and grand statements that aren't true. I enjoy Star Wars, but right now the ratings are very bad, and the toy sales are also bad. It's not hot right now.
But I do enjoy your videos.
look, I have no issue with Luke being flawed and more realistic in the sequels. The problem is that he was not written right. Him being easily defeated by an untrained girl is a bad writing of you ask me.
Disney killed star wars
Sometimes I wonder if several years down the line, like the prequels, the sequels will gain a different round of appreciation. Maybe yes, maybe no
Star wars is dead, and disney killed it. At least disney is dying as well.
💯💯Real Star Wars is important🚧however the majority of Disney Star Wars is just a laughing stock 🤡🌈👩 an abomination💀‼
George Lucas got slams by Investors because he said Soviet filmmaker have more freedom in making their films. People should be aware of the limitation under a Liberal Democracy.
How much are you willing to bet that those Soviet “films” where willing to criticize their government or god forbid showing capitalism as just actual human beings and not cartoon fat pigs. 🙄
@@benclark4823 how much of American films willing to portrays and shows the Socialist aren't demon and devils, rapist and criminal and don't get caps in the USA?
Capitalist Elite are parasites, that is why they are portrays as cartoon pig. Imagines some small time petty Capitalist whom still majority depend on their labors to make end meet and have a small pizzaria thinks of comparing themselves to aristocrat and those whom owns entire regions of lands and everything on that land, really Hilarious how working class are taught to think of themselves as currently embarassing billionaire.
@@Huy-G-Le and yet the Soviet government is LITERALLY the exact opposite of YOUR so called workers “paradise” that they had to build walls just to keep their “workers” in. (Whale the capitalist system is so prosperous and wealthy it HAD to build walls just to keep foreign “workers” out.) Do you really want to defend that same system that put those “workers” in Gulags??? that has killed MORE people than nazism EVER did. A system that STILL kills more and more to this very day. 😠
It’s no wonder why the west has “portrayed” the Soviet government as “evil” when they have (and still are) committing crimes against humanity.
Also how many films, movies, TV shows, and videos games are SO much willing to “portray” the cliché “evil” greedy corporations the “baddie” in media? O RIGHT ALMOST EVERYONE. 🤦♂️ BUT YOU SOMEHOW THINK YOU CANNOT CRITICIZE THE SYSTEM??? 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
So much for your “evil” capitalism agenda (conspiracy theory)-(to “portray” capitalism to look bad???) argument. 😒
You live in a fantasy world if you think the media is biased towards capitalism. 🤡
Lucas says a lot of stupid shit. He's a smart man but that doesn't make everything he thinks or says smart, while he understands ideologies and philosophies he really doesn't know what the hell he's talking about when it comes to real world politics or topical events. For example how he thinks the American Revolution and Vietnam War went down are factually wrong, and Palpatine being Nixon is a loose stretch at best.
@@funnelvortex7722 Except what he said was a direct conversation with a former Soviet Filmmaker, did you ever watch it? You also have other interviews about Georgia Lucas Ideas in making star wars.
It kinda is dying noe
No it's about the Skywalkers. Lucas said so. Already this video has it wrong.
you will never know the real truth behind star wars... most of you do not possess the free thinking intellect. if i tell you that would be too easy. lucas is a brother of the occult. there is your hint
