68 North | Making the Best of Bad Snow

Last February, a ski trip turned sightseeing trip after unseasonably warm arctic weather melted most of the snow along the Lofoten Peninsula. After intense blizzards hindered our travel plans, we arrived to barren peaks and overcast skies. Our two main objectives for the trip were to ski aesthetic lines to the ocean and to photograph the Northern Lights but after a few days of steady rain and 100% cloud cover, our spirits were in serious need of a pick-me-up. In the end, we got everything we came for and more and in true arctic fashion, we actually got pretty good at skiing arctic crust.
