    I think they are afraid to disclose price and location because they know deep down inside that someone might steal their "guard dogs"😅

      Exactly. The price and location thing doesn't mean anything. I breed dogs for my enjoyment. You can look at what happened to west Penn as to why you don't advertise the location of your dogs. People tend to steal pits. I make private arrangements for price based on many things. If the dog is a pet or working dog how well I know the person. What kind of life they will give the dog.

    Lastly I got infatuated with the APBT IN 2000 and you’re absolutely correct on the characters you come across that have kennels. I talked to Bert Sorrel, Dan Norrod and Gary Hammond about acquiring some knowledge and dogs. Bert was the oddest one, he was a good guy though.😂 There was always a feeling that certain guys weren’t telling the truth or at least not being as accommodating as one would think. Many others when trying to ask questions were short and seemed like if you didn’t know about certain aspects they didn’t want to help at all. Like we are supposed to already know or have a crystal ball somehow.
    I’m glad to see you have Sorrels blood. Thought it was almost gone until I saw you when you first started with your channel. Sometime soon I will get one or a pair from you. Thanks again.

      People don't want to give away their recipe especially if their livelyhood depends on it. If they learned it the hard way why give it to you the easy way

    I’m a concreter by trade and that made me angry and it’s not my job. The polyurethane membrane underlay😂 is absolutely crucial with a slab,ok to not have in a driveway or footpath but that much Crete with no plastic to slow the curing is cracks waiting to happen. Battle bred k9 podcast got me onto you 👍

    I feel like anyone trying to breed protection/man-dogs especially needs to know what they are doing, and probably no one except lee REALLY gives me that impression.
    But, a lot of good breeders of hunting dogs have no idea what they are doing and it doesn't seem to matter. They effortlessly are good breeders anyway because the work sorts the wheat from the chaff like natural selection. Maybe if dogs regularly died working PP it would be the same, but they don't, so they need extra good breeders.

    I have no clue how you popped up on my feed because I don't search anything about dogs. The weird thing is I did mess around with pitbulls for about 15 years in the '90s. So I watched your video. Real dog men have been gone for a long time I'm sorry to say. You're right with a statement you made at the end of this video. 95% of dogmen were dishonest in a lot of ways. What they were mostly dishonest about was how their dogs were bred. If you line breed or inbread for a few years you could figure it out yourself if your paperwork was true or false. Unfortunately the true pitbull was close to Extinction around 2000 because really nobody cared to selectively breed and it just became a money grab. I was lucky enough to be around a handful of old timers that had dogs straight from the source in a few different lines. One of my dogs still had dibo in the 7th generation chart. The pitbull was a special animal. Good luck.

      You can make your own version of a bandog, but the American Sentinel has a working based breed standard that all American Sentinel breeders should conform to. Here is a link to it…

    After watching these videos, I went down the rabbit hole of chicken breeding as there so much more information out there on the birds
    Is there any major differences in breeding birds in comparison to dogs/mammals

    • @APBT-Bandog
      @APBT-Bandog  9 месяцев назад

      Birds reproduce MUCH FASTER. As a result one can get away with more inbreeding because one can cull at a higher rate. For example, if a bird produces a 200 chicks in a year, and the chicks can reproduce at 120 days of age...you can cull 90% and still have 20 birds left. Cull dogs at 90% and you get 1 or 2 pups a year...and you gotta wait about 18 months before you can assess and breed that pup unless you breed it on its first heat, which is not wise.

      Also, birds are opposite on the chromosomal sex differentiation than are mammals. For dogs, males are XY and females are XX. For birds, males are ZZ and females are ZW.
