We are currently under siege by far-right thugs who are invading our communities and even attacking our masjids. These are alarming and unprecedented times. While we saw EDL protests in 2011, there were never demonstrations outside masjids. This surge of hatred is fuelled by misinformation and ignorance. However, as a Ummah, we must confront some harsh realities. We are supposed to be paragons of conduct, ethics, and integrity, yet we are failing miserably. Many of our young people mimic gangsters, selling drugs, committing fraud, harassing women, and displaying a complete lack of manners and social skills. They are, quite frankly, uncouth. Alarmingly, Muslims are disproportionately represented in English prisons. Our elders, too, set poor examples for our youth. They litter, park illegally, obstruct traffic to chat with friends, lack basic courtesies, and do not know how to queue. If our Ummah were composed of true practising Muslims, people would welcome us warmly. We must stop blaming others and address our own community's shortcomings. The Ulama must stop ignoring these issues and take decisive action to reform our youth. We need to understand why people have grievances with us instead of lazily labelling them as racists. Many of the Sahabah were initially Islamophobic but converted to Islam after witnessing its true beauty. Can we say that the British Muslim community is displaying such beauty today? Absolutely not. We must stop being hypocrites and start practising what we preach. Reflect on this message and share it. May Allah protect us from the dhalimeen, and unite us as one Ummah, and make us steadfast Ameen.

@@Lubna.Candid Thank you for your kind message but I’m nothing but a layman. There are plenty of Muslims, who are more qualified than I am to speak about such matters. I can provide you with a couple of suggestion if you like.

    • @lmp9256
      @lmp9256 2 месяца назад

Criticism 1) Islamophobia is a deeply hypocritical word immediately. The word disqualifies itself by implying there isn't anything to be phobic about Islam from a non muslim point of view which is obviously ridiculous. Your msg is mostly nice and helpful, but this is ridiculous: You start by saying, "fuelled by misinformation and ignorance. However, [...] we must confront some harsh realities." QUITE YOU NEED TO CONFRONT A LOT! You don't need misinformation and ignorance SO WHY MISLEAD BY SAYING IT? All the things you said are true AND ADD TO THAT the ongoing gang rape of 10s of 1000s of young white girls by Muslims over decades. All Muslims need to come out in the open about that and bloody well own it and start to bloody well do something about it. I'd say please let your elders block the roads and the pavements and be impolite and ignorant if the Muslims who do gang rape our young girls JUST STOP! But what we all really want is both of those things otherwise we are living in a society where the WORST crimes imaginable are carried out against our children by Muslims and as far as we can see, the media, the authorities, the police and the Muslim community all collude to further insult us, adding insult to injury by lying to us, gaslighting us and not only pretending it doesn't happen, but also try to criminalise us if we tell the truth and say it does. You just gaslighted us right there by not mentioning it. YOU ALL MUST DO BETTER, but despite there being many decent Muslims who only follow the positive msgs of kindness in Islam, I have no reason to have any confidence your whole community is capable of really tackling this and if you don't we are going to hell. I guarantee you the British people will crack at some point. You are seeing the cracks appear. KIND ADVICE: which seems to have been ignored by all those gaslighting us, the authorities and the Muslim community: It is very unwise to push the British people to breaking point. I'd start fixing yourselves quick if I were your community.

LUBNA, I am Hindu and I can confirm that two things you said are correct. There is no compulsion in Hinduism and there is no reward to convert others. It’s is a big tent and everyone is accommodated with full freedom. There is no single book like in Islam and there is not one prophet as the last one. And all the practices like Bindi are optional, including visit to Temple. You pray at home, if that suits you. This freedom of thoughts and continued evolution makes it relevant even after thousands of years. Single thoughts, rigid way of life, and stopping evolutions makes religion outdated! Christians, Buddhists, Jews have evolved because of this flexibility and keep them relevant today, as in Hinduism!

Hi Lubna, middle aged white male Brit here (honest) living in Scotland having grown up in northern Lancashire.
I think you're very brave to have embarked on this mission, but it's an important one. You've got your work cut out that's for sure!
As your guest suggested there are many topics to cover and from different perspectives which require time and contemplation. I don't know whether having perhaps more of a long form style of maybe an hour might be better sometimes, focusing one or two particular topics at a time? It's a tough one especially when you are not familiar with the guests.
There is and has been for decades now a clear plan of menticide to create division, confusion and chaos at home and abroad very evidently driven by a particular tribe and country in the Middle East. For those who have eyes to see.
The depravity of the French Olympics, attacks on and mocking of Christianity and demonizing of Islam clearly demonstrate this.
The Pakistani community in the UK have not helped themselves in this regard from what I can see by certain behaviours (gang culture etc) and by embracing a more extreme version of Islam no doubt pushed by certain Imams and funded by Saudi, UAE and that other unmentionable country close by.
First and second generation Pakistani women in the UK never wore a burka but now it seems all the rage. It causes suspicion amongst us native Brits and smacks of a kind of superiority and loathing.
It therefore gives the likes of little coke head Tommy Robinstein a platform to work from and earn his shekels.
I've only scratched the surface here, but we better get a move on as the war drums are banging for a conflict with Lebanon then Iran.
    Cheers and good luck.

No religion can be reformed, in can only be watered down in practice by exercising wisdom. When many people especially politicians say islamism is to blame, I say Muslims are to blame. Most religions have many bad and impractical things, it is for the practitioners to move forward. For example take slaves was also in Judaic texts and Old Testament is a book of torture.

Its not Islam - its the wrong, un-authentic and totally incorrect interpretation of Islam which led to two major sects in the subcontinent region, that is the problem. People who did not study Islam for themselves and relied on the mosques, the Imams and preachers of the faith, ended up dogmatized by that interpretation which is prevalent in Indo-Pak subcontinent. There are wrong practices combined with that school of thought which led to certain mindset. Thats what you see across the world coming from that background. Alot of rough edges need to be trimmed for Muslims of Indo-Pak, wherever they go. Hopefully I can talk about that in details in some other session.

Very intriguing interview from a different perspective … I’m so glad you covered this …. I’m not part of the Pakistani community but have lived amongst many nations especially south Asians … I agree with the interviewee but not on the thought that British Pakistanis were racist towards him… that’s not racism because they are of the same race … that is prejudice …. Racism is between people of different races eg Europeans and Asians or Africans and Europeans or Asians dna Africans or vice versa … i have also noticed over the years that British Pakistanis have a very different mindset from Pakistanis born in Pakistan …. Eg in terms of being genuine and honesty … my Pakistanis friends since childhood are the ones born in Pakistan … there is a different mindset and integrity…. There is also a high level of jealousy and bullying and a vindictive nature amongst …. Not all but too many Pakistanis born in the UK… I watched a recent documentary of a Pakistani boy who came to the Uk to
Live with his mother after living with his grandmother until he was 10 and the Pakistani community in the UK treated him really badly into his adult hood … he was never accepted, mocked and had not friends at all growing up in a predominantly Pakistani community and they had evil names for those Pakistanis born in Pakistan … now that’s not all British Pakistanis but too many it’s like a superiority complex over those born in Pakistan and this is very common of a lot of people of colour who’s families came from other parts of the world to settle in the Uk and raise children in the Uk there is a divide….

Hello Lubna ,nice informative video, I am a Hindu, lived in the UK from 2004 to 2007,
Now in India, I want to say that in Hinduism we have no strict rules to do puja or fasts, it’s all very flexible depending upon the parents/families beliefs, (we all do puja at home) our focus is more on becoming a good human being with a good career(in the process we are taught that all religions are to be respected,be with truth, always abide by the rules wherever you are, certainly not like the strictness in Islam .
When I was in UK I read a study paper “Why Indian Chinese kids are good academically than Pakistani and Bangladeshi kids “the answer to this was these Muslim kids had to pray 5 times a day and they had to do Islamic studies with a moulvi, whereas Hindu kids would devote all time to studies, extra curriculars and personality development (in a positive way) And Hindus are inherently nonviolent, we don’t kill any living being, hum log river, fire, trees, cow, snake sabki pooja karte hain……
Since the very beginning Indians have given a lot of importance to studies which is not the case with Pakistanis
    👆these are my thoughts 🙂🙏

Hi All! Thanks very much for the comments and surprisingly amazing response. Thanks to @lubna.candid for inviting me to have the discussion. It was my first ever video session so you can see me taking it very casual and not so well planned. But overall, I am ok with my first performance 😉. I would like to clarify when I referred to British Indians vs Pakistanis and the religious point came. I would emphasize again that I can only speak about my personal observations. There is a huge British Indian community living in the UK and surely if I had observed them closely, perhaps I would find more practicing Hindus. So I hope my comments did not hurt anyone's and if it did then I apologize sincerely for that. The topics Lubna has touched upon in many of her videos really demand more time and elaboration, with personal examples and that was not possible in 40 mins. I really hope that we could meet up again for lengthier session to talk about each point, in a well-organized planned session.

You seem like a really pleasant man and its a shame you left the UK. I'm sure you watched 'It Aint Half Hot Mum' and despite the BBC dropping it as 'offensive' to Indians the comments below episodes now on YT are very often from British Indians who found no offence growing up watching the program, and much hilarity. As is common with British comedies of that period, the white English were the fools and the smart characters were the Indians. Self-deprecating humour they used to call it, but the nuance isnt appreciated by today's uber-liberal self-hating white intellectuals.

I am a Hindu Indian British born Indian woman, (who now lives in the USA). Hindu's generally do not go to the temple regularly, but they do during special festivals and events. However, the first Hindu immigrants virtually all had temples in their own homes where they keep their prayer items, statues of Gods and Goddess's and they pray each and every morning. My parents still do this. They also held 'bhajan's in their homes and invited all the relatives to join in. You have to also note that their where no Hindu temples when my parents generation emigrated to the UK in the 60's. Many of the first generation- that would be myself, have small shrines or keep the odd small statues. Though we do not keep prominent shrines in our homes, our Hindu values are stil very much a part of our psyche. We try our best to be good to others, work hard, respect our elders, refrain for alcohol and meat or limit it at least. We just do not wear our religion 'on our sleeves' and do not impose our beliefs on others, nor try to convert anyone. Many of my family members are married to Christians, Catholics etc, but we do not force them to convert to our religion. I believe, Hinduism is a very tolerant religion.

They celebrate all the festivals but mostly within their community without causing much problems for others. They also want their Kids to come up in more traditional culture because they have realised that bring up kids that way keep them rooted and also imbibes descipline which helps in their education. Indian hindus seamlessly mis with white as well as black Americans and love to adopt the culture of their new country and that is how they grow and progress in any country they emigrate

I am Indian. When I went to the US around 20 years back on work, I interacted with a Pakistani guy who was very friendly and helpful. I was staying at one of those hotels with a small kitchenette, and he was the hotel delivery driver and on Sundays would offer to drop me to the grocery store without even my asking. He was very friendly and nice and it was good interacting with him. But that was 20y ago.
Now, I have heard horror stories about Pakistanis who have got radicalised.
My cousin in the Merchant Navy says he had a Pakistani colleague on ship who drinks and smokes, but says he feels afraid whenever he goes back home to Karachi because if his son back home in Karachi came to know, he would actually kill him. His son yells at him for missing his namaz, makes him wear a skullcap and shalwar-kameez when he's at home. He's scared for himself, his wife and rest of the family from his radicalised son.
Another Pakistani guy on ship once was caught trying to convert the non-Muslim crew (including my cousin a couple of times), and scolding the Muslim crew for not doing namaz. He was afraid that if someone inadvertently says something that he interprets as blasphemous, there would be chaos and potentially disastrous situation on ship. Finally, he got rid of the guy by reporting him for some work related issue and things normalised on the ship after that.
Disappointed by his "invite them to the mosque" statement. Why do Muslims invariably go into dawah mode? Why can't they just live and let live? "invite them to the mosque" is not integration.

Hi Lubna, this is a little off topic to your video but I came across the video of this Mufti on RUclips, his name is Mufti Abu Layth, you would definitely find his view points definitely interesting because I did, regarding rulings on specific prohibitions on Hijab, Music, a woman can say NO to her husband, she won't get cursed by Angels as claimed, discrimination and biases between certain sects of Islam, Niqab, the ruling on shaking hands between opposite genders, His views are very interesting and explained from the Arabic exigis regarding certain hadiths and the validity of them, prohibitions of women spraying perfume and the ruling on this and again the validity and authenticity of this rule explained and elaborated. This Brother May Allah S.W.T reward him, comes from a place of justice for both opposite genders and not from a place of bias or misogyny. I really recommend you to watch his content. This will Insha Allah clear any doubts or misconceptions you may have on the matters stated above and others if you find anymore. I knew Islam was fair and not bias towards men, its the men following a particular sect favouring men than women which is being promoted and preached. All the best sis.

Umair Mughal studied at a university in the UK but his conversational skill in English language is poor. Looks like he speaks Urdu or Punjabi at home.

You are one of the few people who are actually addressing these problems within the pakistani community and I commend you greatly for that... I was also wondering if you can also highlight the racism within the Pakistani community towards other ethnic groups, ie Bangladeshis who have always had racial stereotypea thrown their way by pakistanis?

Abrahamic religions are based on a book, but Hinduism is a library. It is highly flexible. Lord Krishna said, 'don't follow blindly what I said, take your own decision ......'. It is not necessary to go to temple every day. Your mind should be clean.

Hinduism is just Vulgarstories of their God
Brahma (God) lusting after his daughter Saraswati
Vishnu (God) having sexual by deception with Tulsi as he pretended to be her husband
Shiva( God) lusting after nude Mohini (female avatar), Vishnu, untill he ejaculated.
If you read these Hindu books, you will need therapy!

I think you both may be influenced by stereotypes, we all vary tremendously. I am an old Brit who doesn't drink and I'm no more a Christian than I am a Muslim or a Hindu. I too am a Yorkshireman and have worked in Saudi Arabia and we rarely lose our accents 🤣🤣🤣 One of my best friends was an Afghan, whom we lost in their war against Russia... a dear friend!
