I have a badsweede lift kit on my XC70 I also have the largest size tires that fit without modifying body or cutting the fender flares ... I have around 12” ground clearance... I contacted I P D and they are in the works for a lift for XC70 unsure when it’s going to be available. My car tires are all terrain Hankook atm a very nice suv or truck tire .. my speedometer is off about 7 mph since I did this to my car and I notice no difference in acceleration with these big tires either ... around where I live my car is a one of a kind and as soon as I replace the skid plate from the plastic one to metal you bet your ass we are going wheelin ... this car in the snow is flat out amazing traction so I want to see what she’s capable of off road ... there are some crazy videos from Europe on Volvo XC70 off roaring and I was impressed with what I saw ... bottom line XC70 lifted is unique...
I'm pretty sure the AWD system is a package feature for the Xc70. It's such a comfortable car to sit in, and with the lifted interior it should be very comfortable to get in and out of. Plus it makes the front-end look a little more aggressive.
Hi at first i thought finally a good lift for a xc70, but watching your explanation made me think-oh no! I'm looking for a lift kit too, for my xc70 D4 MY2014, but my target is not just to lift the body, but to gain about 2" of extra ground clearance. I'm not going overlanding but have to drive regularly to my bees in the woods. keep posting stefan
That is a interesting tire choice if your going to go through all the work of raising it, you would think you would want big knobby tires to accent its sudo off-road mode now. Great video
The wheels are wrong and the tires are too low profile, but that tire is the same one that Toyota puts on the 4Runner TRD Pro. I don't know how good it is, but it is technically an all terrain tire.
@@trailrunnah8886 The Nitro Terra Grappler is one of the best all around AT tire on the market hands down. They have great grip in all conditions and terrain (Even does ok in mud. Not great but ok.) If rotated at the normal intervals both sets of mine hit 50k miles. And they're super quiet on the freeway! If you want slightly more aggressive tread, go with the Bottom Ridge Grappler. They look great and they're the perfect combination of the Terra Grappler and Trail Grappler. Anything from Nitto always kicks ass. Lol
@@stonemcdaniel2041 yeah, I've never run them. I've heard people say the wet weather performance isn't great, but I don't have any experience. I have a 4Runner, and I recently put a set of General Grabber ATX on it. I really like them so far. If I were to do a build geared more toward off-roading more, I would definitely want to go with Trail Grapplers, I think those look like a great tire. I really like the look of the Ridge Grappler that you mentioned, however I live in New England, and I wanted something that had the 3 Peak snow rating. I've heard from a few people that the Ridge Graps aren't great on packed snow and ice. I had my Generals in those types of conditions a few times this year, I had to say I was very impressed with their performance.
YES! I love building vehicles that shouldn't be lifted too! I got a small life on my 04 xc70 too. I lifted a 2010 kia sorento 3" a few years ago, should be pictures on the web somewhere. Wanted to do more but got rid of it before I did. LIFT EVERYTHING!!!
I have a 2002 XC70 with BFG AT. They look better with the 16" wheels and bigger tires. Problem with lifted XC Volvos is the CV axles ultimately don't like it, but don't be fooled these cars can actually go off road pretty well especially for what it is. Turbos definitely make them fun and you can get 300ft tq pretty easy with them way more than you need to tow an 18ft boat.
I have a xc70 with a 2in bad swede lift the it. I get the same clearance. I plan on putting on bigger wheels to get another inch or so. Im in Northern California. If I ever come up to Seattle I'll let you know.
Don't think I understand I thought the whole point of lifting a car was to get more clearance from the ground but if you move the sub frame away from the body the clearance from the ground to the sub frame remains the same The older I get the stranger people seem to be
Needs custom suspension arms and axles for longer travel and the lift without the subframe drop then it’s the perfect daily adventure rig. Still cool though.

Volvo probably has more droop travel in the front than that Toyota! I actually own two vehicles like this, have a stock silver XC70, and a silver 4Runner of that generation that's mildly modified. I'd love to do this to my Volvo, just to drive it around and see what kind of looks I get. Would definitely be fun to bring to Cars and Coffee when those event start up again. Edit, just finished watching the whole video, no way would I set mine up like this. All those welds and spacers underneath look sketchy. Maybe if this thing was only to be beaten off road a few times, but I wouldn't want to daily drive this on the highway.
This Volvo xc70 should never have been raise that way. The sub frame is now the biggest problem that car owners going to have is if he takes it Off Road. I own an XC70 2004 model and I would never ever is that car the way it was raised. Why anybody would do that I don't know. Personally if you going to raise it do it by tire size and then maybe also by lifting the rest of the body the way it should be done correctly.
I'm looking to the same for my P2 XC\70 ". I'm just trying to figure out it ot is better to go with the 3 in spaces at each corner, or just supliment xc90 parts when they'd make more sense. Awesome so far. Can't wait to see more!
The wheel wells could be made a tiny bit wider with some flares to cover it, I’m considering buying one of these from a friend just for winter driving. I was thinking 2 inch lift with hefty snow tires and a brush guard, as I live in deer country. I’m told these cars eat snow as well as Subaru, is that true or just some BS to sell a car?
have here a non XC model V70 awd, and it chugs along without issues, note that some awd systems haldex had a bad habit of being a bit to fwd happy unless one tweaked its setting, not sure if same issue is on XC or if it was corrected.
I am planning a lift on an Audi Q5 ... not so aggressive just a 30 mm lift and some bigger tires. What size of tires do you think would be a good idea? I am thinking of going R17 + larger side walls.
I have a 2004 XC70. I’m the original owner. This whole lift kit looks like it was done by a rank amateur! What a joke! This “soft roader” rides like a truck when it’s stock. I can’t imagine just how shitty this XC70 rides.
What's going on man,i am about to get me a 06 volvo xc70 and would like to lift it 2.5 inch with 17 inch rims,is that something you can do,i live in Wilmington,De
Looks absolutely ridiculous. What is the point of that, loses drivability, reliability, and is crap off-road. XC70 are great for light off-roading, though they miss low gear range.
I've spent countless hours daydreaming about this exact build
😂😂😂Me tooo!!

Thanks in the name of all daydreamers, the source, the links of parts used at the lift work. Very useful 👍👍👍👍

I have a soccer-mom grade stock XC70 that was going on a 4x4 Ram chassis but now.. I’m reconsidering just a lift. Pretty cool for minimal fabrication.
First video I’m watching because I just got a Volvo for cheap and awesome surprise you live local haha 🤘🏽

Nice lifted volvo would definitely consider doing that for mine
Id Love to get this done to mine ... I'm in Seattle too
Looks great that high :)
Wow, I sure hope if they did all that work they are actually taking the thing off-road
Volvo rule screw the Toyota

I got same car that's what I'm looking for to lift it .... That was awesome looks
i really want to lift my renault megane 2 station wagon, (2005) but no mechanic dare to make it :D so i make it on photoshop
Dear. This is Korea. I have an Xc70 2011. I'm looking for a lift-up kit. If yes, can you tell me where to buy it? plz.
Enjoy your videos
How much cost for do that in this same car

Not all xc90 parts fit on the xc70, rear suspension it totally different.

seen 1 like that here in upstate ny….wasn't a fan but interesting on how it was done.
Yer look great with a lift done right, but yip those wheels a not good.
You dont lose ground clearance with a body lift you just dont gain any
I'd like to lift my 2000 V70 bro!
Me two😀

Did you ever end up doing this? I heard the transmissions couldn't handle the larger wheels. Or is it ok?
what year is this Vo?
You cant get an xc70 without a turbo so why do you put it on the title like its something cool or new lol
I put it in the title just so Hunni Attila would comment about it. SUCCESS!
Yer looks good but not workin bro, pricey do it right ive heard.
Zombies? Gay guys destroying each other since 1981. On purpose. RIP
Looks absolutely ridiculous. What is the point of that, loses drivability, reliability, and is crap off-road. XC70 are great for light off-roading, though they miss low gear range.
Those wheel are fucly... not matching the car at all
So why lift it, if you lose ground clearance? Bit stupid
Its to high
