Thanks Ruth, for this super cool tutorial. I totally agree with you regarding documentation for ALLSELECTED... It's really tough to understand in one go. BTW, Chai is the Hindi word for Tea in India. 👍 😃😃
Thanks Ruth. This is quite interesting. How to make these big slicer boxes. Do you have a video about that? If so, please let me know. So I can watch it. Thanks.
Great trick just to filter what Is selected on the slicer. I knew about the ALL function but never saw allselected in action. Big fan of your channel.
Prefiero Power BI y DaX ;) /Ruth
Chai is tea in many Asian languages and countries. Thailand globally markets Chai tea products. Chang is elephant in Thai, and it's also Thailand's most popular beer. Northwind has the Chang product in the Beverage category, being sold in 12oz bottles. I think its the beer, and not elephants :) Thank you, Ruth!! :)
Oh you have to! Amazing countries ( not biased at all 😊) and thanks to you Bryant, for all the help and support! 2017 is not over yet and I can’t wait for 2018 to start 🎉🎉 /Ruth
I well check them out and let you know ;) I was using ALL, then to be able to filter I added a calculated column (copy) of "Products" to be able to filter accordingly. Not very efficient/clean.
@@CurbalEN And they should be technical and precise, it's the documentation. But thanks to people like you regular and newer DAX users can easily understand what a function does :)
Hello Ruth, First of all congratulations for your videos, they are really well explained and with trully useful examples. One question about this video: I noticed you use ALL() on the first measure "ALL Sales Product"; but as CALCULATE() function ignores any other filter would it be the same result if you don't use ALL() function? Thanks!
This is not even an explanation, is some random words. It explains nothing. After reading ANYTHING from Microsoft website I understand NOTHING! Documentation from Microsoft is pure garbage. It is written for people who developed Power Bi not for people who would like to learn it. I don't even comment the translation for other languages...drama. Who understands such language? Is in Microsoft a person who thinks "how to write definition in a way that no one understands it? Learning DAX is pure pain.
You're a hero, thank you for agreeing on how inaccessible that microsoft definition was. Love your videos.
Thanks!! :)

Thanks and thanks 😊
Thanks Ruth, informative video and like the way you use slicer(Horizontally)!
Not sure what the “Chang” is intended to mean for this dataset, but Chang is actually one of the brands for beer in Thailand. Great video by the way!
It is a dataset of drinks and foods in the world , so i think it is your beer in there :)
Thanks Ruth. This is quite interesting. How to make these big slicer boxes. Do you have a video about that? If so, please let me know. So I can watch it. Thanks.
thank you for the video. I'm literally watching every video. it's very helpful.
Excellent!! And happy new year :)

Holy cow thanks for this video, why can't Microsoft put such a simple idea into words?
Hi Trevor, You welcome! 😂
Their definitions are technical and precise, I just simplify them to make them understandable.

I hear your frustration loud and clear!
Not sure it will help, but we all have to go to that stage to begin to understand DAX, it gets better.
@@CurbalEN I am sry. This is so counterintuitive. Thank You for making it understandable.
