    You can pitch the sample in sound mode using the xy knobs. Then pitch the group relatively to that I think. I’ve read the manual. Mine is still in transit

    Despite its limitations it’s an amazing device. The new firmware update with the filter range stuff is very welcome. My first device had a broken fader. Now I have a healthy one ( till now ) and I love it. It works very well with the Roland compact series s1 or t8. You can pitch up and down with black x/y knob. You can change you effects with +/-

    I think the new step seq mode is like the Endless on OP1, which in my oppinion is better. You can input more than one pad per step ;)

    thanks and great video Son Wu, just got mine today and it helped for some features I don't need to dig into the manual... Ep-1333 is cool but needs more features and an overhaul of the workflow. And why not an arpeggiator and a sequence mode; something bigger to boost creativity :D

      Thanks for watching!
      I understand the want for more in the device (I'd love resampling), but I think some features may be difficult to implement, without making it convoluted. The strength of this unit in my opinion is the immediacy and simplicity.

    Any chance you know how to get to the place where you can see the fader values as numbers on the display? I had to repair my fader and I was hoping to see if I’m getting the whole range after the fix. For the life of me I can’t get the fader to show numerical values as in your video at 6:30.

      Update : got my unit, aaaaaand…fader is DOA. Packaging was all effed up. Also, power switch is hard af, pads responsiveness is a hit or miss…
      Defective unit. And, for once, TE seems to have dropped the ball more than I thought : they offer RMAs but can’t even tell when new units will be sent and if the new units will be functional.
      What a mess.
      I love TE. But this…this feels like a bad joke!

    Question. Never owned a sampler before so I’m curious if the only reason to own one is because you plan on sampling vinyl records to splice them into beats? Or is there another purpose for sampling? Sorry for such a dumb question but I’ve only used drum machines with drum sounds.

    • @SONWU
      @SONWU  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hi!
      Not a dumb question at all. As opposed to drum machines, a sampler allows you to use sounds of real drums in your music for example. So let's say you take a drumloop of a 70's record, you get exactly that vibe and sound for your song. You can also record your keys jingeling or shaking a bag of rice, or whatever is around you and incorporate it into your music. It just allows for a lot wider variety of sounds and will lead you down different paths than a drum machine.
      +you could also take samples from any drum machine out there and load them into a sampler. this means a sampler could replace a 808,909,707 and so on, all at the same time!
      Hope this helps!

    With regards to the re-sampling issue, can you not simply not connect the output (with a Y signal splitter) to the input and record as if it was a new sample ? Not quite instant, but maybe a possible workround until TE update ? Excellent video BTW. Have a play and read the manual when you get stuck ! That’s my approach too !! Looking forward to getting mine.🤞no sticky keys and faulty slider !!

    • @SONWU
      @SONWU  9 месяцев назад +1

      You mean via midi? At some point my OP-1 triggered all samples in a group…so if that’s what you mean, yes, you can play multiple samples from another midi controller…it doesn’t have to be a single sample in keys mode

    1. can you monitor or hear live the audio input from the op1f somehow? eg can you hear your op1f output live through the ep133 output?
    2. for the various limitations you mentioned like pitch etc do you think it would be simple to exchange audio between op1 and ep133 quickly and easily?
    3. lastly you made some comment about “sticky keys being a thing” can you explain what you meant?

    The biggest disappointment with the new step sequencer for me is that you don't get any visual feedback when editing the duration of a step - not even a numerical value. On the PO-33, it showed you on the step sequencer exactly how long a note would be held, but on this it requires so much trial and error. I may have a solution though - keeping a blank or muted pad on the same mute group, and then putting in a step for the blank pad to choke the sound I'm trying to cut short. This might save some time in the long run.
