    Thank you doctor! I had a Deep Plane facelift done nearly 20 years ago and only in the last year or so have I noticed my face sagging at the jowl. Am currently searching for a plastic surgeon.

      You can have repeat facelift. Probably would pot for a different technique second time around

      Greeting Doctor, I’m confused by your reply to the question about a second face lift after having a deep plane lift the first time around. Should they get the same type of lift or some other type of lift. If they should not get a deep plane the second time, can you advise why not

    Please may I respectfully ask some questions: Seems like you are correct. Deep plane face lift (DPFL) is not particularly necessary for most younger patients (pts). Based on the knowledge you presented in this video... It seems like many patients are offered DPFL when the patient needs a fat transfer. Therefore would it be more advantageous for pts (with tight foreheads and minor laxity) to receive an eyebrow lift with fat transfer?

    • @drkopelman
      @drkopelman  2 года назад +4

      Fat transfer solves volume loss. While a facelift helps to lift the soft tissue upwards. One is not a substitute for the other.

    Excellent presentation Doc. I am on blood thinners for a long time due to my cholesterol, also taking Vytorin for my cholesterol. I am almost 60 years old. When do I stop the blood thinners (Cartia) before the facelift procedure? Thank you.

    • @drkopelman
      @drkopelman  Год назад

      You have to check with your cardiologist to determine when it is safe for you to discontinue your blood thinner then discuss with your surgeon so they don't operate on you with thin blood.

    how do we know if the surgeon has released the retained ligaments? Is it common to experience nerve pains on the temple, behind the eyes, and running down the back of the ears? Is that a sign of real deep plane facelift?

    • @drkopelman
      @drkopelman  6 месяцев назад

      To know if the plastic surgeon has released the retained ligaments, you would notice significant repositioning and natural contouring of the midface and jawline. Experiencing nerve pains on the temple, behind the eyes, and down the back of the ears can be common post-surgery and isn't necessarily a definitive sign of a deep plane facelift, but it indicates extensive work done in the deeper facial structures. Hope this clarifies your question.

    • @drkopelman

      You probably have some scarring in your neck which can lead to more intra-opertive and postoperative bleeding but you can still have a deep neck lift provided your calcium levels are normal

    Is a deep plane facelift referred to as a lower facelift? I talked to a plastic surgeon who said he does deep plane facelifts, but he calls it a “lower facelift.”. I find this misleading. Is this accurate?

    • @drkopelman
      @drkopelman  Год назад +1

      A "lower facelift" is a vague term. A deep plane facelift is performed on the upper face and involves release and repositioning of facial ligaments and soft tissue.A deep neck lift involves removal of sub-muscular fat and sometimes modification of salivary glands.
