- Maiden voyage of our RL28 Neringa sailing from Melbourne to Portarlington across Port Phillip Bay. The conditions were very gentle for most of the trip until 90 minutes from Melbourne on the return trip the wind increased to 32 knots. With sails reefed I was very happy with how Neringa handled the conditions with the ride relatively stable and comfortable, heel of around 15 degrees and the cockpit remaining relatively dry. Had the tall ship Tenacious follow us back from Geelong catching up as we turned into Hobsons Bay. Met a local seal sleeping on one of the shipping channels. My mast raising system made easy work of raising and lowering the mast.
