    Very interesting salts. Would it be possible to use 50% Bio-actif and 50% Syn biotic? or would that create issues?

    Hi I'm useing instant ocean salt at the mint but ever time I mix up a new batch my calcium test is round about 380 so I'm thinking about changing salt? But not sure what to go with..🐠

      It depands on what you're looking for. Our reef salts (Pro-Reef, Bio-Actif and Syn-Biotic) have the same values in Ca and Mg. Alkalinity is a little higher at Bio-Actif and Syn-Biotic and they also contain some organic substances for the microbiology in the tank.

    Where can I get the small bucket at? In the beginning of the video when pouring dry salt into the big bucket.

      I assume you're meaning the 10 kg bucket. Please ask your Local Fish Store, he can order it for you. You can also find a list of our distributors on our website: www.tropic-marin.com/haendlersuche

    Hi can i use pro reef salt for fish only or would you recommend classic

    • @TropicMarinOfficial
      @TropicMarinOfficial 7 месяцев назад

      Hi. We rocommend our Classic salt because of the higher Alkalinity and lower concentrations in Calcium and Magnesium. But it's also possible to use Pro-Reef.

      @@TropicMarinOfficial perfect thankyou for the reply so i have a 240 litre tank im finding the dosing really hard to work out i based in the uk could you recommend in kilos what i would need to reach the right salinity or grams per uk litre as it says 37-40 grams roughly per litre of water or 1/2 cup to a us gallon not sure wether to do 37 grams for eg 38 grans or 40 grams thanks

    • @TropicMarinOfficial
      @TropicMarinOfficial 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@STREAMZZxDue to the fluctuating moisture in the salt, we recommend specifying the quantity in volume (ml). Please dissolve 35 ml (approx. 37-40 g) of salt per liter. At the end, you should measure the salinity and fine-tune it.

    Do I need to keep the Tropic Marin Pro heated after mixing if I'm going to use within 2 weeks?

  • @deanybmx

    Would there be any adverse effect on dosing kh to your pro salt to bring up the kh content?
    Im using Redsea coral pro salt at the moment, so your pro salt matches the cal and mg but is low in kh compared.
    Or would it be better to use your standard salt with the higher kh and dose the cal and mag up?
    Red seas salt doesn’t store well at all . And having to keep making it up before i need it just adds time to the job. Hence the questions as looking to change to a better storage salt .

      You can put Tropic Marin Original Balling B to Pro-Reef to raise the KH. 2,5g Original Balling B to 100l would raise the KH about 1°dH

    Thinking about switching over to this salt. I have a 25 gallon tank. Would it be best to switch over slowly doing 5 gallon wc bi-weekly or what would you suggest ?

    • @TropicMarinOfficial
      @TropicMarinOfficial 3 года назад +3

      You can do the water changes with the new salt in your normal rhythem. A change of 10-20 % weekly is no problem.

    Hi What is the best way to store Pro. Aerate or circulate, heat or no heat? Thanks in advance

    • @TropicMarinOfficial
      @TropicMarinOfficial 3 года назад +2

      You can store it circulated or not, the tempreture should not be over 25 °C. DON'T aerate it.

    Is this salt ok for a 15 g nano ? I a little worried about the low alk of this salt I am planning on a mixed reef

    • @TropicMarinOfficial
      @TropicMarinOfficial 3 года назад

      All of our salts can be used for nano tanks. If you like to have a higher alkalinity, we recommand to use Bio-Actif or Syn-Biotic (8-9 °dH) or even Classic (9-10 °dH) which has lower Ca and Mg.
      Pro-Reef has an alkalinty of 7-8 °dH.

      @@TropicMarinOfficial I’m so happy I jus bought three buckets of pro reef!! Is there a shelf life on your salt ? I bought more in case it’s sold out again. Also is the alk level in your salt efficient enough to grow sps and softies? Or do you recommend the dosing you suggested ?

    • @TropicMarinOfficial
      @TropicMarinOfficial 3 года назад

      @@Botzz28 The salts don't have a shelf life. Also the water of the disolved salts from Classic and Pro-Reef can be stored for some weeks. The water from Bio-Actif and Syn-Biotic should be used inbetween a few day because of the biological substances.
      It the alk level is enough depands on your consumtion in the tank. At the start of a new tank, it should be ok. As soon as you get more and more corals and they are crowing, you need to supply minerals. This can easily be done with All-For-Reef or the Balling Method.
