SEAKING MK 41 / 89+63 SAR helicopter air show at the Kieler Woche Open Ship in the Kiel naval base on June 22nd, 2024.
Here you can see one of the last Westland SeaKing MK 41 multi-purpose helicopters, the so-called naval aviator, at the Kiel naval base. In this video, the SEAKING 89-63 naval aircraft in special paint flies a few laps over the base and, among other things, soldiers were pulled out of the water into the helicopter using a winch/transport basket.
The German Navy purchased a total of 22 Westland Sea King MK 41 multi-purpose helicopters in the 1970s. The Sea King MK 41 has now been replaced by the NH90 Sea Lion multi-purpose naval transport helicopter. The remaining Seaking naval aircraft are/were handed over to Ukraine.
The air shows with the SEAKING MK 41 at the Open Ship 2024 in the Kiel naval base during Kiel Week were definitely one of the top highlights of this year's Kiel Week 2024 again this year.
