I've had the exact same CQC-8 flipper for about 5 months now. Zero lock rock and zero lock stick. Perfect out of the box and still perfect today. It's possible yours may just be a peccadillo unique to yours. I will tell you that my 6 month old flipper CQC7, however, was a lock stick mess with 100% lock up, that had to go back to Emerson for warranty work, so it's still hit or miss with them. In the end, though, the CQC-7 now is perfect also.
flip it while watching Mandalorian and see if you still feel that after that session hehe I really like how the flipper hides in the guard... super cool!
I had a full size sheep dog. It wasnt what i expected a $325 knife to be. It had an incredible amount of lock stick, there wasnt enough tension on the detent causing it to be to easy to open accidentally.
I live Emerson but I hate them so much at the same time. Every knife I’ve ever got has either had lock stick, blade play, off centered or rough milling throughout. Still buy them though. I love my Hattin
The lock bar isn’t making contact on the outside edge. If you take it apart and look at the wear on the ti you’ll probably see the wear spot is in the middle. When this happens it can rock on that spot. It should really only make contact on the outer most edge. Removing the material until it only touches there will fix it but the lockup will obviously get deeper.
I'd rather have it on washers, the more milling and steel washers for the bearings to ride on = a less solid feel and ad in a bunch of loose balls rolling around and what about tolerance issues with all those extra parts? It all ads up to a looser fit knife.

Excellent tac-folder: very cool Emerson knife!!! Perfect!!!
I recently bought the CQC-8 and it is like yours. I like the filpper and it does slowly drop shut. I didn't know they had changed anything, though.
👊

Tighten up your blade retension pin screw.

Maybe the larger silver standoffs are contributing to the less weight as well.
could be
Just flip it a bunch till it gets lockstick, then your good. Just joking , hope everything works out for you !
lockbar flex?
maybe
