    The first car I drove as a 16 year old was my moms 65 Corvair Monza with the automatic shifter on the dash.I got it up to 99 miles per hour once but it was so light in the front end that it was kind of scary. I'm not sure what air pressure I was running in the front tires. might have been the issue. We had a 63 when i was younger and my mom plowed into a women who had run a stop sign and I broke my nose on the dashboard. I wish I had another Corvair. They are quite unique.

    Truly incredible machine. No stone left unturned. Quite certain all my former Porsche race car team members would approve. You must have a military and/or aerospace background. Would love to take this for a few laps around Sebring.

      Thanks Jake. That car now lives in the UK. A guy over there wanted it bad enough to pay the price. I kinda miss it. I hope to take a few laps around Sebring in my current Corvair race car in the future.

      As a Corvair person I would be insulted by your reply that your porsche race team ( former ) would approve ! really all the stuff porsche copied off the Corvair engine design ,what a insult ! but You being a porsche person I guess you think it is a compliment . The only thing they have in common is 7 letters in the name scrip!

    • @ACF6180T
      @ACF6180T 3 года назад

      @@The_DC_Kid I don't doubt that! My reply would have been it took Porsche 10 years later to offer one after the 1966 Corsa was the last year with one & if they can't do the math , That would be 1976.😆

    Itching to put that Roger Parent linkage to the test - I just need a working car/engine to test it on, but have been plagued w/ physical issues/limitations thwarting progress on my build. Would love to know what mods were made to the carbs for the cornering cut-out issue and the engine mods, if any. Have you replaced your Race Vair, yet? Be well and happy motoring.

    • @ricknorris6943corvair
      @ricknorris6943corvair  4 года назад +1

      V.E., The Parent linkage can't be beat. All the engine etc. has been modified. Get a copy of the How To Hot Roc Corvair Engines and read it. The Sunoco Corvair is long gone to the UK. In 2015 I bought another old Corvair race car and made a road racer out of it. I haven't done a video tour of it but maybe later. Check out my You Tube channel for videos of my racing.

    Now I'm confused, everyone seems to tell me no hoses in the engine bay and now you say no hard line due to vibration?
    Where I live the roads are garbage so vibration isn't exactly avoidable.

    • @ricknorris6943corvair
      @ricknorris6943corvair  10 месяцев назад

      Delt, racing setups and street are not the same. No rubber hoses in the engine bay of a street car. Steel fuel lines in a race car will split and leak from the vibrations because the engine and drivetrain are solid mounted.
