Kalyn, first of all, I'm not your usual young twenty-something watching your channel. I don't remember how I discovered it, but I'm in midlife (57) and was really feeling low about having "lost my youth" during the summer, both my parents are gone now, my nest is empty :-( and then I saw your video of when you went camping with Bentley, I don't know what it was about that but it just cheered me up so much, there was something so poetic and beautiful about it, and he's such a precious little dude. Just reminded me of what really matters. I got alone with my little aussie shepherd and told my husband I needed some "me time" with my pooch. You've been a real inspiration. I think you remind me of me when I was young and also a little bit of my daughter, but your youth and energy and honesty are a real gift to the youtube community. Wow... I've been watching you for a while and don't necessarily engage usually... but , but lately, I honestly think your content is getting to a new level. :) So I want to contradict the critical voices: Because to me it actually feels like you matured in front of our eyes - so much more relaxed, open, kind and effortlessly friendly and real that for me, it kind of goes beyond the stereotypical youtuber standard. You promote actual values, stories and ideas and maybe some people expect you to vlog every second of the day without any thought behind it, but please don't! Because what you're doing is so much better. The latest videos, and generally across the last year, I suddenly feel like you're not just this pretty girl... but your content is often very clever, inspiring, sometimes casual and sometimes artistic.... and I feel like there is such a thought-through balance in it. And perhaps those videos don't cater o much to this celebrity culture of wanting to know every personal detail... but remember there are some of us who love exactly what you're doing as it is :) I personally don't come so much for information about your life, but for inspiration and sense fo calm and a bit of girlboss motivation for the day! And with every video that is a bit different or serious, I gain so much respect and click on the notification that much faster :)

I was the one who commented about the personal "stuff". & before you think my comment was anything but written with good intentions I've been subbing to Kalyn since she started - and if you go back to her old vlogs you will see the difference how they are now. & I agree, she is changing - maturing as well; but I would hate to lose the vlogs of how they once were and never have them uploaded again. My comment wasn't written to be rude. Just want a little bit of variety. I don't need to know personal things like if she's a virgin or not - that's certainly not what I meant, if you've been a long time subber like me since the very beginning you'd know what I meant by my comment. And since Kalyn said my comment inspired this video, I assume she gets it :)
@@kaylacouture0 I see where you're coming from now :) And it doesn't seem like it's a hate comment at all, more of constructive criticism which I think is always good! Just stressful at times to take, but it helps us in the long run. It's nice to express what we like and what we don't... make suggestions, I think that the actual hateful comments are ones just being negative and not having any thought to them. But I wanted to say some support here mostly because I'm amazed at how Kalyn is handling it... admitting it touched her, knowing it might be because of being sensitive and not blaming anyone, but trying to improve still and do her best :)

I don't get why people make comments that aren't constructive. It's totally okay to not like a video, and if I don't like a video I usually just don't watch it. Simple as that haha. Some people take it as an opportunity to let their insecurities shine through and make nasty comments. I always try my best not to let negative comments affect me, but we are human and sometimes we can't help it! I think all of your videos are amazing though Kalyn, keep being lovely! xo

You are a nice, intelligent and a concious living person. Negative comments can get to anyone not just you but just learn to not pay attention to them. The topics that you talk about in your channel: positivity, spirituality, organisation, balance ecc in other words most valuable topics, people should only be grateful to you for this.
KALYN this video was so incredible and I don’t mean to say that I don’t love your videos anymore but this took me back to what I lost most about you and your channel. I like hearing about yoga and tarot and stuff occasionally but it was refreshing to have this have none of that and also so many personal and deep things about yourself. I hope you don’t take this the wrong way because I watch EVERY SINGLE VIDEO and it’s always the BEST part of my day no matter how I feel. I just really appreciate the effort you put into this and how much you care about your relationship with us. It’s really nice to see the variety of dynamics in videos this Youtober. Like you can tell the rises & falls you’ve gone through this month. Yet with these last 2 amazing videos, it’s obvious you’re heading back to the upswing side of things , since everything is full circle. Lol kind of like life really; we start off strong, face some shit, realize what’s wrong, admit it, and then push harder. I love watching your videos because (yes it’s a great study break) it’s refreshing to see hard work pay off & just constant growth in every aspect (plus you just resonate will my soul sometimes lol). OMG, on the one hand I want to caution you against being so affected by the thoughts and the musings of others that might be negative. But on the other hand if it inspires you to do a vlog this amazing, then you know what you're using that negative energy for good! Kalyn I have been watching you for over a year now and let me tell you the last year of my life has been trying as can be and it's just now becoming pretty darn awesome! But anyway I've been watching you for over a year and this without a doubt was one of my favorite videos. Watching you and your dad Jam together to some of my favorite music no less, was pure gold. Hey Kalyn. So just wanted to say a few things I’ve been thinking abt for a while. I’m a huge fan of yours and always watch your content to feel inspired & motivated. You’re amazing!! Such creative and spiritual vibes all around. One thing I def have been finding that is missing on your channel, however, is the more personal content. I, too, have felt like you often say you want to dig deeper and then it comes up short for some reason. I’m sure a lot of it is like you said- you don’t know where to start or you aren’t that comfortable with it. I think this vid is a good start, but I’d encourage you to keep going w it. I had asked you what your biggest insecurity was for this q&a.. you may have had too many qs but part of me wonders if you avoided that one bc it was too personal. But we WANT to see that. Even in your tea talk, you said you wanted to get personal and raw and now just put a positive spin on everything but then you did.. and I think that might be just because you are so used to doing that. Which is great sometimes. I’m sure that has gotten you through a lot of things. But on the other hand, your subscribers are really invested in you and your story as some of us have been watching you for forever. And the youtube space is changing.. more people are showing deeply personal sides. Not that you need to do the same thing, but that’s in my opinion what your channel is missing. Other than that, your content is phenomenal. I was on a podcast recenty and they asked me for my fave youtuber that is inspirational and I said you. So, this is all coming from love! But I just want you to not have to feel like everything needs to be said in a certain way. Or the outlook always has to be a certain way. It will make you even more relatable to your viewers. What is your biggest insecurity? What is something really shitty you had to go through w a guy? (And i dont mean in 2nd grade!) Have you ever experienced any body shaming or had issues with food? How have you dealt w falling outs with friends? These are all things we want to know! Again, love you and your content so much. I watch your vlogs / videos for 2 years now but I never left a comment. But what you were saying about the negative comments kinda made me angry a little bit. Therefore I decided to write my first comment here... And I must say you are just amazing. You're down to earth, you're funny, you give the best tips and advice which I can always include in my life (I'm 1 year older than you and live on the other side of the planet), I even watch you're make-up videos even though I don't use make-up! The moment of singing with your dad got me crying like a child. My dad died when I was 8 and he used to sing and play guitar. I remember dreaming of him teaching me to do that. I’m really glad that you opened up about your family situation because divorce is tough and weird, and hearing other experiences with it are so enlightening! It is something many of us (me included) have gone through/are going through and it totally is a part of shaping who we are, our future relationships, etc.! I also loved what you said about feeling like you’ll never get the closure you need from it, and I definitely relate. That closure for the kids is definitely something often overlooked.
My parents split up when I was 15, so I know EXACTLY what you mean. Holidays are more stressful for me now, but it definitely was the best for my family. At first it was awful though

I honestly think you share enough. It's hard to close that door once you open it because people feel entitled. Of course you can share as much as you're comfortable sharing, but I would just advise to be sure you've considered all the ramifications.
Reminder to everyone that in the right relationship, you can and should work on yourself, discover yourself ( we are always changing ) and making your bucket list happen. Your partner should support that, and you should support that for them too. A partner should never hold back your growth and self discovery, nor should you hold them back. There is so much room to grow in a relationship with discussion and honesty.

I seriously love these Vlog Style videos. I feel like they would be less stressful for you in the sense that you don't really have to plan out too much, and you just really get to be authentically you. Versus a video where you have to write down all the stuff that you need to do and talk about etcetera. To me as long as you are having a genuine good time making your videos, those are my favorite. I also find it slightly humorous with some of the questions that people are asking you. Like your old relationships and such like there has to be some deep dark bad thing that happened, when in reality sometimes it's just the simple fact that "Shit happens" or "right person, wrong timing" situations.

Joining the "usually don't comment but will for this" squad ;) Kalyn, I know the negative comments get to you - that's natural. Just keep in mind that for every negative comment, there are not only all the positive comments but many more "silent supporters" who adore you and your videos, but don't vocalise their support because they kind of take it as a given. It’s so beautiful to see your relationship and kind of see you as a “real, normal person” instead of this magical, otherworldly incredibly successful goddess of a youtuber. It’s hard for me to explain but it made me feel more of a connection to your videos, not just you portraying this incredibly abundant and perfect lifestyle, but seeing the family side of you, the girl who loves her dad and is down to earth. It was like watching a home video of a friend.

I love your videos so much, and I so look forward to October every year, but in every YouTober video you’ve said how stressful and emotionally taxing it is. It’s difficult to enjoy your content when you repeatedly say that it’s making you stressed and irritable to produce it. Just some feedback, still watching and liking every video.
I’ve loved all of the youtober videos so much but this one, this one got me. It was so authentic and pure. I loved seeing you with your family it reminds me of thanksgiving when all of us siblings get together and we’re just very much ourselves because we’ve all known each other forever. I realise that this couldn’t have been easy and I applaud you for having the courage to speak about it. I REALLY hope you weren’t referring to my comment on your last video when you were talking about people not liking your last video as being ‘jerks’ about it. In my comment I told you how much I loved pretty much ALL of your videos and although the last one wasn’t my cup of tea, I did say how much I loved the beautiful fall photography in it. I really didn’t mean to criticise, just state my opinion and personal preferences, so I hope that came across and didn’t offend you in any way. I’m truly sorry about the people who were jerks about it - that’s certainly not on, especially when they are receiving such amazing content for FREE! But you really shouldn’t listen to them, yesterday’s video certainly wasn’t a ‘bad’ video - just something which didn’t quite resonate with me, personally, as much as all your other videos have. But the vast majority seemed to love it so you shouldn’t listen to a minority of people (especially those who were rude or disrespectful) and stop making those kinds. It is just impossible for you to please everyone when you’re dealing with the general public, just as it’s impossible for me to please everyone with my books. But if the majority likes a certain video (or a certain book in my case) then that tells you to keep going with it, so in no way should you stop making a certain type of video just because I and a small minority didn’t love it! I will always keep watching your videos whatever you post because I like YOU and pretty much every video you make! Heck, I have watched all your makeup videos, GRWM and birth sign videos and I don’t ever wear makeup! I’ve watched all your tarot readings even though I don’t believe in such things myself! That’s how much I like you and love your videos! 😄 But I REALLY appreciate you listening to your viewers and responding to what they want to see. Not many RUclipsrs are so considerate and I think it’s a truly lovely thing to do. I can’t imagine how stressful this month must be for you and can only compare it to a book deadline as I’m an author - and you know about book deadlines too being an author now yourself (and I’ve already told you how much I loved Catcher). So, in short, I really hope I wasn’t one of the ‘jerks’ and hope you know quite how much your videos mean to me. All that wisdom in one so young is truly exceptional and the care and effort you clearly put into every single one of your videos is why I so love what you do and care so much about you and will never stop watching your videos for as long as you keep making them! I feel like you didn't full explain what happened to your parents, mostly your mom. Only because I feel like we mostly see your dad in videos but /rarely/ your mom.
I feel the same! I've always been curious of why she rarely/never mentions or sees her mother but I've been scared to ask her that question because of the effect it could have on her. I don't want her to see a question that could upset her because I love her and frankly it shouldn't be any of my concern, but I just can't help but wonder about her relationship with her mom whenever she mentions or vlogs her dad.
I'm going through a break-up at the moment and its honestly so helpful and lovely hearing you talk about your experiences - I'm a super coupley person as well so its really nice to have someone to relate to and to hear advice from, and my parents are split as well so I really know where you're coming from with a lot of what you're saying x I adore you and your videos and your podcast, and I'm just so glad I stumbled upon your channel!

I never comment, ever. But I feel like I have to today. I've watched your videos for about a year now, even have gone back and watched your old videos from before that. This video is gold. Seeing your family together celebrating your sister's birthday? That's the stuff we want to see- it's what makes you human and relatable, because your viewers are celebrating birthdays with our loved ones too, but we're not necessarily doing some of the more glamorous things you get to do like traveling and hauling clothes/decor/etc. (Not that I don't love those videos too).
I haven't commented before, but since hearing about some of your struggles during Youtober I just want to say that Kalyn you're doing great. I know that you know that you should just keep doing you, but sometimes its hard not to get distracted by worries about what other people think and if you're doing the right thing. I think you are. In terms of what personal things would be nice to know about you, I originally found your channel when looking for videos to help me tackle my anxiety, so anything about this topic I would appreciate. Anything about mental health. But also boys or family are a good topic. Please just keep creating. I watch most of your videos by now, and honestly if there's something I'm not that interested in, I just skip it. I don't expect everything you make to match my preferences perfectly, and that would also be too much to expect from 1 single youtuber! Luckily, I enjoy most of it!
