Very nice. Looking forward to seeing more. That backhand slap is the opening move in Shotokan Karate's Tekki Shodan originally known as Naihanchi.

Regards Peter's story towards the end about the Doorman that knocked out three teeth,i had a similar experience not long ago when a drugged up idiot tried to pull my 78 year old father out his car to steal it, luckily i was at home at the time
The kid punched my dad, splitting his lip in the mêlée.
I pulled him off my dad, nutted him in the mouth them followed with two uppercuts.
Afterwards the police came after the neighbours phoned the police.
They told me he'd lost two teeth in the cells..
Luckily nothing happened to me legally.....Or him as with the pathetic law's in the UK he got a small fine which he's paying off out of his benefits.
I now wish I'd hurt him a bit more 😆😉

Did a seminar with Peter 20 yrs back. The backhand chest slap as shown to No1 opponent on your right hits like a ton of bricks even through the pad when done right with impact, and sets up the following cross to No2 on your left in a way that both can be executed in a split second. This stuff really works (and I've had to use it).

Indeed. Nice having some real lifebt testimonials. in video it is hard to convey the real experience of the impact.

Why add the miserable background noise?

I enjoyed the discussion. In the drill at 3:50 why are you not encouraging striker to keep his hands up?

Thank you for this question, Bryan, the striker writing 🙂.
The topic of that specific training was pree-emptive striking from non-threatening positions.
Of course, the drill has to be adapted for different purposes.
