I'm a guy, and I admire male ballet dancers who have broken thru into big roles. It is so hard, and such a long path. They really keep the balance alive: the girls need partners, the stories need the boys; and the men have an athletic, different quality that dance needs.

I’m not a guy, but I could not agree more. Also, I am a violinist, not a ‘balleticist.’ Based on the only given clip of Gabriel Figueredo, I perceive a shift in balance, and not in a partnering way.

Wonderful dancers!!! The Bolshoi certainly knew why they opened a school in Brazil!!!
That Chroma choreo! I'm a belly dancer and those torso isolations and flowing movements are more in *our* wheelhouse; I've never seen a ballet dancer do that whether male or female! It requires a completely different type of muscle control than ballet demands. I'm blown away!
Gabriel Figueredo is ethereal. I saw him for the first time dancing at the Prix De Lausanne. I'm not always a fan of the contemporary dance but his performance of Chroma was beyond measure. I was so mesmerized by his performance and I did a side by side of his performance compared to his competitors. His body mechanics are beyond compare, his emotional understanding of the nuances in the music were like none other. I'm sure he'll have a long, lustrous career.

Totally agree. I also saw him at the Prix and was completely engulfed in his ability to pull the focus towards which part of his body he moved.. Even the rehearsal of Chroma was something special he just out performed all the others. Not sure about other peoples comments on his masculinity but he is young and will develop his own persona for the stage. I am also a big fan of Victor Caixeta who is stunning to watch and very pleasant to listen to in interviews..
It does my heart good to see so many talented young men who are just brilliant dancers,i can see that ballet will always be a wonderful art and will never die out.
j'ai suivi toute la finale de grands prix de Lausanne , de la danse classique mais celui qui m'a vraiment ému c'est Gabriel Figueredo .A 18 ans, il est arrivé à une "maturité" artistique du ballet qui mérite d'avoir sa place parmi les grandes étoiles du corps du ballet des célèbres scènes mondiales ..Une fierté pour le Brésil , son pays.

Gabriel Figueredo in Chroma was an extraordinary performance …his musicality, his physicality, his movement quality and the mood he created. Quite something.
This Brazilian are adding in my opinion to the classical ballet, overall technique’s, the extreme naturalist bodies fluidity to the intense gestures, overriding a typical stiffness of European bodies! Brazilian added real truthful bodies movement sensuality BRAVO 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥✌🏿

I admire ballet dancers, regardless of gender. They are simply superb, with grace & mobi,it’s which makes it look easy, but is anything but, as it takes years of work, practice, & effort.

I have to agree with you, Motta-Soares has such fluidity and grace allied to classical technique. (I'm thinking "Tsiskaridze" when I see DM-S as the Prince in red).

I was wondering that too , not just the dancing, but he looks older, maybe 16?

I once visited rehursels in a well known Brazilian ballet school ...I was quite astonished how many male dancers followed the training ...a lot of talent over there ...
I found him on Instagram like 2 years ago and his lines and feet hypnotized me!

All of these Brazilian male dancers are definitely excellent danseurs - - flexible and strong and each possess a great technique 🌟 🤩 ⭐️. For creativity tho - - I ❤️ love Jovani Furlan's and take a look at his stunning 'full mane' because - - if he's dancing - - so does his long hair covering his neck.
