Went there once and was dressed way too nice. Didn’t even know the club, a guy brought me there. Was the blast of my life. Especially when they open the curtains and the das light hits you.. everyone was screaming and then they closed them again and you were back in your own world.

Why is the club like that???
I have never been to Berghain but I am very familiar with the club and have quite a few friends that have visited the club. I can understand the club's perspective on taking your phone out and recording things. Berghain is all about living in the moment, being there for the dj's and music and just have a good time dancing and socially interacting with people. If a lot of people constantly try to film things it will defeat the purpose of what I just mentioned
I personally am glad they have a policy like that because at a lot of parties there are a plenty people who record every single thing which defeats the whole purpose of what I just said here above plus I personally find it annoying that people would rather record a party to show to their friends and constantly have a phone in their hands than to actually be there mentally and live in the moment. I know not ALL people record every single thing that happens but a lot of people do and you can't exactly time every single individual on how long they have been filming for so they just decided to forbid filming all together
Having said that I find the fact that Conan got approached by some dude and be threatened to have the police called on him because he had a camera crew outside of Berghain absolutely ridiculous

They absolutely hate cameras. He should *not* have even tried with a camera crew. To have a fighting chance, don't even have your phone out. And the guy was right- they do smell fear and won't let tourists in. (speaking from experience, I got in 2012 and was standing behind a girl who got rejected 2x in a row).
There's always tourist that often go there, pretty sure they can go in if they know how
The producers should have known and gotten him in. Jordan would have gotten in.

I think it's a good idea to encourage people not to film, but to be so stuck up in general about dancing silly is incredibly sad. Why would I want to be posh about taking drugs and dancing like a lunatic? Kind of defeats the purpose.

My friend and I got rejected at that distance once 😂 - but I had also a lot of fantastic night there! Celebrities usually don't get it in especially not with cameras!! It's not personally - some personalities just draw a lot of attention to themselves, which can disrupt the balance of the party and make some people feel less uninhibited and free. But Conan looked great indeed ;)
Still seems incredibly snobbish. Just tell people not to film others snorting lines or gourning. Works at other raves. Why be so stuck up about doing drugs and dancing silly?

Been lucky in a way, my cousin is a techno dj and producer, so i got to travel around with him, well tag along. To be honest i dont even like techno, its to heavy! But Berhain was decent, like the venue inside is amazing. But hands down, it doesn't come close to other techno places we went which were absolutely epic. The 2 that stand out were Bassiani in Tbilisi, Georgia and Mutabor in Moscow, Russia. If your are into techno and in those cities check them out, thats if you get in!
yea i feel like part of the appeal of this place is the exclusivity but once you get in you realize plenty of other clubs that are way better or the same. i cant imagine its much dif then the high end clubs in miami. i feel like its jsut the reputation and mystique that make people feel like its so great

I went there for an interview with Barney (New Order), entrance fee 6 €. It was a great interview but the venue is not that special
In almost all Berlin Clubs you have to Tape your Handy Kameras
Most say that you should go there by sunday morning but you don't have much chance to get in sunday morning. Try saturday night and be cool.
If you haven't been rejected from Berghain you haven't been to Berlin
Know a few DJ's that played the panorama bar and even they had trouble getting back in when they took a break outside. One had a AV guy and they point blank refused to let him in because he had a USB stick on him.. One got a guided tour and the basement is basically a BDSM club with men in various states of undress getting their pipes smoked and dipped.
