- One of the best songs of 1983; - One of the best songs of the 80's; - One of the best songs of the 20th century; - One of the best songs of all time.
This is one of the most misinterpreted songs ever. It is about an obsessive stalker, but it sounds like a love song. Some people even used it as their wedding song. The Police frontman Sting wrote it after separating from his first wife, Frances Tomelty. In a 1983 interview with the New Musical Express, Sting explained: "I think it's a nasty little song, really rather evil. It's about jealousy and surveillance and ownership." Regarding the common misinterpretation of the song, he added: "I think the ambiguity is intrinsic in the song however you treat it because the words are so sadistic. On one level, it's a nice long song with the classic relative minor chords, and underneath there's this distasteful character talking about watching every move. I enjoy that ambiguity. I watched Andy Gibb singing it with some girl on TV a couple of weeks ago, very loving, and totally misinterpreting it. (Laughter) I could still hear the words, which aren't about love at all. I pissed myself laughing."
puff daddy sampled this for his song called i'll be missing you, it's a tribute song to the notorious b.i.g, faith evans & the r&b group 112 is on there also.
Interesting fact STING & Terminator 2 judgement day. Sting was originally casted to play the T-1000 but weeks prior got into serious motor cycle accident so they went with there back choice Robert Patrick. Not a well know fact.
Danny bobs his head to the tune for a few seconds; once Sting starts singing he looks around with his eyes, then promptly lets out a nuclear F-bomb, throws his tube of Colgate toothpaste; the one with tartar control to the floor, the Colgate Consumer Affairs worker comes back to the phone after holding, requests that Danny repeat his problem, Danny repeats his problem, CCA worker offers a refund, Danny loudly claims that he pissed himself, then the CCA worker promptly hangs up to which Danny points out.

Every Breath You Take by the police from 1983 it reminds me of Dian Parkinson queen of Barker's beauties 💖
so clear
Every breath you take
Every move you make
Every bond you break
Every step you take
I be wanting you
Is this the highest quality version of this to be found on youtube?
The best song of The Police...plus "Message in a Bottle", of course.

C'est de ma génération ça 😅
1983.
I honestly never even knew that this song was about stalking. Given the back story of this song.
2:30 My Favorite Half Of The Song
Also My Favorite At 0:47
It's always a hoot to just lip-sync the lyrics to this song at the local city bus stop. To assert dominance over the local homeless population. 👏🏽💯
LOL I looked at your page .you couldnt assert dominance over a golden retriever puppy
