Dunno if it's just me, but there's something about Hammersmith Bridge. I think that it might be the first one as you go upriver from the City where you can draw breath and it tastes fresh.
Certainly the expanse of sky you're gifted on London's bridges is enhanced by the bend in the river as the sun is setting.
A right old mess of an on off on again repaint, then refurb, now restore project with the squabble over who should pay, all the while the costs go up!
Anyway, the nice new cycle track down the middle is long gone and we pedestrians share this footpath with all comers. This is because this month they've finally taken it back to the oak planks and boards of the bridge deck itself.
Resplendent they are! Looking as old as the bridge itself, it's somewhat sobering to realise that there wasn't an awful lot between you and a watery grave among the herons below.
Thanks for jogging memories and good luck with the next one.

Good day @JP_TaVeryMuch. Yes, the bridge does need some work. When I was about to start walking on it, I notice a sign letting bikers to dismount. It walked on closer to the bridge side verses the water side because I didn’t want to take a swim with the herons.😆 It looks as though it was a really nice bridge in its earlier days. My first time seeing and walking across it. Thanks for the your response and watching the video. When it’s done, I’ll go back to check it out.
