This conversation needs a doctor/ psychiatrist. There is a reason why a severely depressed person cannot get you explaining that life is worth living. You have to add antidepressants because there is actual factor imbalance in the functioning of the brain. And depression is not equal to sad/stressed/low mood
I have never been to the u.s ,but I have met Americans in Asia ,also Europeans,two different cultures in-terms of social interactions and norms,the latter tend to mind their business and are so deep in to human rights,they’re easily offended ,while Europeans are almost like us Africans ,courteous,friendly and culture welcoming.I agree with mwaf that money can’t deal with loneliness,(I been there ,Asia gets so lonely) I believe there are different kinds of loneliness,the one mwaf mentioned of needing a companion and others including the one you can just lower it by going to a social gathering e.g bar,concert,coffee shop which needs money.and that’s what self-made is referring to..that’s my opinion 👊🏾#iko neneh

A think people don’t understand how therapeutic just seeing people around you is, even if you’re not talking. Like these developed nation you get out of the house and see no one. Everyone is in their car or house. Home ukitoka tu nje kuenda kiosk unapatanga na watu kama 20
Now imagine our girls in Gulf locked in someone's house for two years doing house chores to a family that doesn't speak your language n treats you like trash ... remember them in prayers ..imagine the boredom for two years 😢😢
Selfmade had a point but was shutdown a little prematurely. Not having enough money out here is a lot worse than being in the same situation Kenya and going out to work multiple jobs just to make bills adds to the problem because it leaves you with very little time to decompress. I’ve never lived in Europe but compared to US I don’t think the Kenyans there have as good a support system. In the US there are churches that cater specifically to Kenyans and other social groupings that bring us together. I don’t think the numbers of Kenyans in many of the European countries allow for the same support system. With the large the number of Kenyans in the US you’re also more likely to have more cases of depression and crime reported and increased chances of encountering more depressed Kenyans. I like what Josh said and I wish there had been time to explore that line of thought. Life definitely becomes simpler when you don’t live in that middle point between Kenya and your country of choice.

I agree once you get depressed money won't get you out of it but having some money gives you a chance to take breaks to recharge. Work life balance ni muhimu at some point and that's one place Europe is ahead even though the checks are a little smaller.
