Slurry Seal

Slurry seal is just one of the many tools the City uses to keep our roads in good condition.
It's a surface treatment designed to extend the life of pavement that's still in good condition. It cuts construction time, disruption to traffic, and is very cost-efficient.

It stops water getting into the road pavement for a few years if low traffic. So slows damage from the weather.
Can also improve skid resistance for a few years.
Does not increase the strength of the road.
Maybe economic for low traffic residential areas. If it is used on high volume and vehicle weight roads it is likely to cost more in the long run.
