He's not 'your' man and the British press don't 'hound' ppl for having a life. You have clearly bought into a lot of the 'British media' cliches. I'd very much doubt youre ever even read a british newspaper. These silly stereotypes are actually bekieved by ppl like you all over the world. Try thinking for yourself maybe or better still try a bit of travel. I hear all these dumb cliches passed from one totally uninformed opinion to the next like a disease spreading. The British media is no different to any other. If the national side loses a game after putting in no effort and seeming like they didn't care then obviously thetre gonna face justified criticism. That's called journalism and free speech. Theres no rule that says british ppl have to be upbeat and put a positive spin on something. If something warrants criticism then it's rightly gonna face it. But we don't care if some player has a bit of a laugh. Plus ive seen a lot of the spanish press on footballers and theyre far far worse. You're taking yourself and life way too seriously. He was a young guy just playing a game then he answered all the questions without resorting to pretentious cliches and i found it at the time hilarious, honest, to the point and not wrong. Hes just explaining the very simple act of scoring a goal. It's not metaphysics and he's not employed to be a pro spokesman for anything. You can't come from Britain cause you clearly don't understand our humoUr. It's called having a laugh and most of us here get off on it. Yep, the non-cliched straightforward forward, honest, not over-analysing replies. Very refreshing from 'at the end of the day... I'm over the moon... all the lads 'done' great... I've got my team mates to thank... on balance I think we deserved the 3 points' etc. Zzzzz at least he used his time to actually make ppl laugh. And by doing what? Giving honest answers in a straightforward way. And that has suddenly become so strange why? This is really how most of us should communicate and cut out 90% of the verbiage we ALL say every day.
