Regarding training - I've found the biggest improvements in my driving came from transferring music performance concepts to RC. When playing any instrument, having good technique means learning to play your instrument with your body as relaxed as possible and using as little muscles/effort as possible. I applied those concepts to how I hold and interact with my transmitter and my fine motor control drastically increased in my fingers.
Point is, there's so much knowledge, pedagogy, and neuroscience research from other fields that would be an absolute gold mine for the RC world if someone just knew where to look.
When I raced big cars I did a lot of cardio, and breathing techniques to calm down and not be worn out towards the end of the race. I have noticed it has helped me relax while racing nitro off-road as well. I think it would help anyone in the sport to get their mind and body right if they did some kind of physical training

The cam off center would allow for more torque? And that would make it feel more consistent than "linear" engineers struggle to think outside the box and go for perfection too much
