Here's an idea: (looking back, its really really long, but hey, naruto is 720 episodes long, and i've watched all the fillers too. that gives me alot of room for ideas and improvement. im just thinking on the perspective of "How i wanted naruto to be written" after watching more and more animes that are undoubtedly better written than naruto.) What if naruto was not dumb, but naturally gifted? What if he was just poor at academics, but he had much of minato's blood, that made him the fastest, and strongest physically? What if naruto actually learnt from living in the wild, and gathered tarzan like strength? What i want is, naruto do poorly in class and mess up shadow clone jutsu because the textbooks were bad, and nobody taught him bcz ppl hate him? but even then naruto is the 2nd best at taijutsu only after rock lee, learning taijutsu from AHEM, dragon ball... bcz in the anime, it is shown that naruto as a child was faster than kiba, who was the fastest among the children. naruto worked hard and eventually surpassed kiba in speed. that was a filler. but it makes for an amazing concept. Naruto is naturally strong but is only bad at the academy because he wasnt taught anything. The moment he gets some basic attention from kakashi and jiraiya, he instantly picks up all the jutsus there is to learn from them, including the flying raijin. Naruto is also in possession of multiple chakra natures, including lighting which comes from his father, as well as fire, from the nine tails. Maybe cook something to give him all 5 chakra natures (this has been done before, but im saying all 5 chakra natures are learnt by him eventually through practice, just like the hiruzen.) instead of being a stupid kid, naruto is now a really cool, smart, and handsome kid. "What if, naruto was as talented as Minato" or "what if naruto didnt have plot holes?" bcz lemme be honest. if you live in the wild, you're stronger than city people. what gyms? naruto fights lions in the wild. naruto is often taken care of, by kakashi, time to time, out of his own care, same as jiraiya. but neither of them dare to show their faces, due to their own reasons. kakashi is anbu and jiraiya is shy. they disguise themselves into strangers and often talk to them. Jiraiya took the disguise of a frail old man and often met with naruto and spoke to him, teaching him about life. Teuchi was an important informant to people like jiraiya and kakashi, naturally a close friend of minato, who also saved teuchi's life, so he owes everything to naruto, lets him eat for free etc. pretty long comment, but i've been thinking if naruto was written like this, many of the plot holes would've been patched, and naruto would've been even popular. Yes, im asking you to rewrite naruto, while keeping the structure of the plot the same. sasuke still leaves, but sasuke isnt evil. just small edits here and there to greatly enhance the quality of the storytelling. How else could naruto survive on his own, drinking spoilt milk, if not for kakashi and jiraiya replacing the milk in his fridge? And most importantly, Fugaku cant be forgotten. he is minato's best friend who took it upon himself to take care of naruto, but the entire village shuns him as he's uchiha and its looked down upon for uchiha to interact with the 9 tails jinchuriki. yet fugaku cared about naruto in secret. This fueled the coup of uchiha. And the fact that fugaku knows naruto, makes naruto and sasuke talk to each other right from the start. Itachi too, cares deeply about naruto, almost as much as sasuke. yk what? lets just make it such that the 9 tails has all 5 chakra natures bcz its a tailed beast. the 9 tails combines all 5 chakra natures into a rasenshuriken, which gives it its purple-black look of tailed beast bomb. but its not a kekkei touta. its just all 5 natures mixed together, kinda like how fire and wind when mixed fuels the fire. Naruto is able to use different chakra natures through the use of 9 tails chakra only from version 2 cloak with 2 tails and higher. Version 1 cloak is just using the chakra, but version 2 cloaks naruto. and that brings us to kurama. kurama is a sentient being, that deeply cared about humans. he always did. until he was betrayed (yeah this is from your story as well. i took many aspects from many of your stories, and thought they'd be better if THAT was canon). Now, kurama trusted a child blah blah blah until she was killed. you know. he's reluctant to trust naruto. but he doesnt want to let a child die, so when the child is in trouble, he just offers chakra to him. else it would be a lot tougher for naruto to draw chakra from tailed beast. Kurama is still cocky with naruto and hates him, but naruto eventually gains kurama's trust after the pain arc when naruto saved the village that shunned him. kurama is impressed by naruto's selflessness, and truly sees the sage of 6 paths in naruto. The KCM1 orignally was supposed to be a trading based transformation. jinchuriki takes chakra from kyuubi, and kyuubi takes chakra in an attempt to kill the jinchuriki. or so Killer Bee tells him. But since kurama cares about naruto, he doesnt kill him. in the war arc, naruto and kurama finally come into an understanding, once they meet minato, which lets the 9 tails gain its full power from minato. when naruto meets minato's edo tensei, minato knows the entire life story of kurama, since they had 16 years to just yap inside the shinigami's belly. at this stage, naruto meeting minato, naruto gets to know the story. maybe it can be fist bumping, or maybe its a dialogue sequence, that can be decided later. at that time, naruto feels deep empathy, and realises how much kurama has cared for him in the past. how he'd be dead now without kurama, multiple times. he then releases kurama from the seal, that births KCM2. thats kurama's story. Now let's talk about Hinata. For god's sake, anything other than what kishimoto did would be better. i'll leave it to the expert since i got no experience 💀 I've got more. There are two factions: Shinobi and Samurai, for each great village. the great village is the centre and hub of a country. and there are only 5 countries, and several small villages that come UNDER these countries. the village controls other villages in each country broadly, but they're mainly autonomous. and a few villages like rain village and sound village are completely autonomous. This is all politics. i just dont like how very little they explain about the world building of naruto. its a completely fictinoal world. I just recently played ghost of tsushima. that got me wondering. WHY THE HELL DIDNT JIN SAKAI JUST BECOME A NINJA? ok let that be. But it would've been so cool if naruto had samurai as well. samurai are the righteous people, that fight fairly, they are very strong and their jutsus and chakra complexion is completely different from that of shinobis. All children attend the academia, and as they learn, they are classified as ninjas and samurai depending on their talent and skill using chakra. the amakichi clan (choji clan) and hyuga clan, and a few others are all 90% samurai. The samurai and shinobis often go on missions together, and the world famous trio is the ino-shika-cho trio, formed by the nara head's idea several years ago. often, samurai and shinobi marry, so sakura's father is a samurai and mother is a kunoichi, healer to be specific. Just imagine HOW SICK IT WOULD BE? Lets just say... the samurai are all the demon slayers. just give them deomon slayer powers.(What's that? Intelectual Property? copyright? screw that, this is our story.) Now that brings us to rock lee. Lee has 0 chakra control so he can neither be shinobi, nor be samurai. so he trains hard after seeing might guy, impressing him and learning under him. his story mainly stays the same. I think that's everything i can think of for now. the longer you hold this idea, the larger this essay will get, the more ideas i'll fill. though these are all ideas i've been holding for a few months now.
