saw them tonight, was amazing. met yannis and walter after the show, they're really nice guys. if anyones contemplating seeing them i say go, one of the best gigs ive been to. x
See all the people who are like "uh they are NOT original blah blah blah - check out THIS guy from 20 year ago blah blah blah Battles blah blah blah" - of course they are not totally unique, but I defy ANY of you to find someone who does this style of music as good as Foals. They are incredible. Even better live. And this song is completely euphoric. One of my favourite albums this year without a doubt.
to the guys below ... seriously, I love Foals and I admit this sounds kinda shit but seriously they are sooo amazing now! I just recently saw them and it was a million times better then this. You can't really capture how good they are live on camera, you have to be there.
Not that I'm putting them down but alot their riffs aren't that complex but more it's alot of concentration getting lots of little simple riffs to be in time to sound more complex, alot of timing with this band. I love their music deeply.
yannis uses a travis bean tb1000s, very rare but brilliant guitar! the lucky sod has 2 of them, if you watch any recent vids he uses his black one nowadays.
@ethankernaghan Because he likes to be able to face the band, and not the crowd so that they can be tighter and get more atmosphere with them. As if they are just rehearsing and the crowd just happen to be there!
Foals is not "math-rock" by the textbook (buh dum che). They definitely use elements of their math rock predecessors to create what they really are: a dance band. This is music to dance to. I think of them as a British No Kill No Beep Beep-era Q and Not U. So to say that any band is directly ripping off another band denies anyone to be influenced by anyone. Yes, there are elements of style similar to Don Cab (and by extension, Battles), but Foals are unique.
Yeh someitmes I see them do it purposely, like XXXXX on Scala, but there are other times when im listening to their stuff and the drummer speeds up and then about a second later the band manages to catch up, like Olympic Airways on iTunes. I'm not trying to rip them down by the way, they're a ridiculously good band and each one is an amazing musician.
ha, yeah, i had id'ed it elsewhere i thought here but must have been another video, you can actually see "travis bean" written on the pick-up in this pic: 5cense.com/images/FOALS_Yannis.jpg
To be completely honest I'd rather listen to Foals than Radiohead. Whoever helped them produce Antidotes was brilliant. I love Radiohead but Foals is just more my style....
this song is awesome, the build up in the intro is ace i go mental in my garden to this and love it. my neighbours think im an alcoholic though
God damn this song is GODLY
This one of my favourite drum parts to play, I just love it how it goes from this odd beat to a classic "disco" beat. I'd kill to see em live :)
the bass is absolutely unbelievable!!! walk home through the field listening to this on my ipod :)
This was the first video I saw of FOALS. Made from this, it became my favorite band. FOALS FOREVER.
saw them tonight, was amazing. met yannis and walter after the show, they're really nice guys. if anyones contemplating seeing them i say go, one of the best gigs ive been to.

@bl0wwJ0bb it's a Travis Bean.
I think its a gordon smith, unsure though, its a small english guitar maker from Manchester
wow the sound way off here...just saw them tonight though and it was BADASS
Travis Bean 1000S, worth so much right now. Doesn't really treat it well though when he has his 'sulks' if you know what I mean.
@gebzere123 its a Travis Bean, very rare.
Foals live are so fucking tight
@thebigapplesauce
My mind would explode.
@gebzere123 He use a Travis Bean TB1000S ;)
didn't know they are big in the u.s.
its like... "let's see how difficult we can make it to play this song."
@gebzere123 its a Travis Bean.

To be completely honest I'd rather listen to Foals than Radiohead. Whoever helped them produce Antidotes was brilliant. I love Radiohead but Foals is just more my style....

Damn. I thought the foals would be/look better live...
@gebzere123 a Travis Bean TB1000S

It's definitely a Travis Bean, you need around $5000 to buy one new.
