Oops. poor Linkka. We all make mistakes though. I've left mine tied up outside a shop before and only noticed when I got home... not good... what's worse is that I've done it more than once. But please be careful in that small van with candles, especially with dogs moving about. Maybe have them inside jam jars with a little water in the bottom just for extra safety. Accidents do happen. Lovely video once again, Merry Christmas Maiu.

Tortilla is Spanish for omelette, nut to avoid confusion with the flatbread version from Mexico etc it is often called a Spanish Omelette ('tortilla espanola' in Spain). I seem to remember that in Spain they call an omelette a 'French omelette'. Keep up the great vlogs and Happy Christmas.

I am loving this series Maiu, thank you. I'm in a small van too, I found out I can keep salad leaves quite a long time putting them in a ziplock or sealable bag together with a damp piece of kitchen roll - if you can't get kitchen roll, I guess a couple of new damp tissues will work too. It really helps to extend the life of the leaves. If the paper dries, just dampen it again. Happy Christmas, I hope you keep vlogging beyond Vlogmas on this trip. Warmest.

I used to have to throw away a lot of milk because it would spoil before i could use it , so i started using powdered milk .
At first having powdered milk in my tea and coffee tasted strange at first i did get used to it , but yes you can't beat fresh milk for coffee or tea .
Another is condensed milk , again it is different to fresh milk but i save money through not throw spoilt milk away .
Dried salted fish and dried meat keeps a really long time and good for stews and soups on cold winter days ,
Dried beans , peas and pulses last ages as well . 👍
Simple nutritional meals.
Mango is my favorite.

Eating can be a real time-consuming chore in van life, much as caring for two 4-footed traveling companions! We get spoiled at home wandering to the refrigerator anytime we please, and pulling out a snack or full meal.
Hihi!! I had this with my dog. He went up the stairs in the chicken house in the dark and the chickies didn’t make any noise and I closed the small door! And I thought: where is Moekie!!! Lucky guess: and yes! He was inside the chicken house! So happy everybody was ok!!
Maiu, when I'm camping I use a silicone pot scrubber to clean dishes (sounds weird but it works well), no stink, washable and dries in no time. Would be perfect for use in the van. Have a great Christmas 👍 don't feel too bad about Linnka, She won't rust.
I've heard about those silicone scrubbers, I have to see where ai could buy one of those.

I do have a tarp that I can set up if needed. Mostly I don't as it's a hassle 🙃 the proper ones cost way too much, I better keep that money in the van repair fund ;)
Fun update. Even with all the mud. No mud here in northeast USA. 24°F currently and -9° F on the summit of Mt. Washington. Patricia made Christmas cookies today, and granddaughter and I went to bring Christmas to one of my sisters one hour drive away.

Tortilla in Spain (and maybe also Portugal?) means an omelet, so a Spanish colleague told me once.
That makes so much sense now! But what do they call the flat ones then... ?
Near the beginning of the pandemic when the grocery store shelves were rather bare I made a video using a DJI Osmo Pocket camera. I was even narrating as I shot the video. Because it doesn't look like a traditional camera, or cell phone, no one really noticed or said anything about it. Even store workers walked right past me and didn't notice I was taking video. I had a plan in case anyone did say anything I would just stick the camera up to my ear and talk into it as though it was just an odd shaped cell phone, which is normal and socially acceptable to talk on a cell phone in the store.
Cook some lentils or green split peas. Both are tasty and good sources of protein. Your dogs will love them too added to their food. I h will cook lentil and add Italian Dressing, pretty yummy, but you can add pickled or other items like cooked veggies etc.
Please, come to Spain. I hope yo visit me in Cuenca: Do you like climb? and ... I miss your hiking videos!

Learning about your food haul was fun. Too bad we couldn't go shopping with you. Maybe next time. I like all you share. I traveled the world before COVID 19....now I wait until I feel safe. How are you managing with keeping yourself protected during these times?
It's actually very easy living in a van. The only time I meet other people close up is in grocery stores where I wear mask and sanitise my hands etc. But as I eat, sleep and live alone in the van I have no problem keeping away from people and potential threat. Ofc I'm vaccinated as well!

Well I want to show you how to use chain oil. And I can show you how is the spanish cooking. And then you can fight for onions or no-onios in the omelette.

Try oat milk. It's long-life and doesn't need refrigerated.
Tried it, don't like it in the coffee.. I prefer going to the shop more often to get the real one.

You're only a half bad dog mom. Who walked in circles around the post anyway? Bad is when you stop somewhere and find half of a leash tied to the van.
The security man was very dramatic, told me if I do it again he will call the police. And I was thinking, yes, please do so, then maybe I can take a shower at the jail? 😂
