How did we become Debt free?
We worked extremely hard at paying down our debt despite what our friends and family had to say about our financial choices.
after discovering who Dave Ramsey was, literally all of his books were consumed by me within a week… I was OBSESSED!
We started with budgeting …listing ALL of our expenses (beginning with our "four walls".. Home/rent, food, utilities, and transportation). From there everything else fell in line afterwards. We paused all retirement contributions from our job and applied that to our debt.
The Zero Bases Budget Method was our go to. All expenses listed and they had to equate to our monthly income.. nothing over… or under was acceptable.
Our #DEBT was then listed from smallest to largest (we ignored the interest rates because those small payments were viewed as small wins for us which inevitably gave us the momentum we needed to #KEEPGOING our goal was to be #debtfree
After paying our debt from smallest to largest we managed to move on to the rest of #DAVERAMSEY #BABYSTEPS:
