Well that's right but I have another way to do it:
Put the germinated seeds in the beaker.
Connect a glass of lime water to it.
And tightly close the gaps.
If the the seeds respire, then CO2 released , when mixed into lime water , turns it milky.this just a simple test for checking CO2.
