I would like to thank you, it really is a simple thing, but the customer, unfortunately, loves to think that restarting the device will solve something, as if it were some generic router. Thanks again, from Brazil
interesting, i have the same device gen1, but no power button on the side like yours. I navigated to the shutdown in the software to perform the same for safe shutdown. Also, when I factory reset mine as per reset button, mine restores to a 6.x firmware and none of the current 7.9x backups will restore. i had to set it up as new (ignore adding your equipment, just get logged in so you can perform firmware update to the controller). After you performed the setup as new, i ssh-ed into the device and used scp to copy my autobackup files from /data/autobackup before doing anything else. This is because the microSD isnt recognized by Mac or PC and they want to initialize it, so you cannot save your backups that way. Apply the firmware updates to the controller to the latest version (that is still supported!) and then you can restore your backup.
Mine is now a solid white LED after yesterday’s firmware update. Ive restarted it several times and no joy I cannot connect to it. Everything is still working but I need to bring my new AP online. How can I access my system directly?
Hi Coyote. Well you can't. Everything on Ubiquiti must be done with the controller. The controller may be in the cloud key, on the ''cloud'' or your computer with the software. In your case you will need to repair the cloud key so you can control your AP again.
@@HowToPM Well that’s annoying so I’ve got a fully working system that I can’t manage 🤦♂️. I bet I’ll have to hose it all and start again as all devices will be managed by another (controller) which is dead. Meh
Yea I know. But at the same time it is so fast to program with their cloud key interface. But as I showed on the video, you cloud use the backup feature to put it back as it was before the corruption.

You're welcome! 😉
You should check for updates before restore

Mine doesn't have a power button.
Hum. Do you have the gen 2? Yours must be grey?
Hi My unifi controller does not appear in the unifi portal
You might need to reset it before. Is it the first time you set it up?
