How was I today years old in 2024 before I knew this song existed??? This is brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Jon's most soulful vocal ever. I adore the "slow burn," Richie's delicious-as-ever harmonies, David's tasteful piano fills, the nostalgic nod-to-GenX lyrics. The song itself got me all in the feels...and then the video utterly crushed me. **le sigh** If that was the plan, mission accomplished. I'm even inspired to sit down and write again myself. I love this song 😊. The arrangement and vocal harmonies are fantastic 👍. You can hear how important Richie was to the band. My favorite part is 3:28. It wasn't just his guitar playing and songwriting, but also his vocals, which, along with Jon's voice, were pretty much the brand of the band. When you heard them both sing, you knew it was Bon Jovi.
I had tickets to see Bon Jovi on tour last summer…of course canceled because of Covid…and I knew that Richie was touring anymore. It was a bucket list ticket for me to see them live, and well, it didn’t happen. But, I also thought, it’s sad that Richie isn’t there, because, yes Tico and David are so important, but there is a magic between Jon and Richie, and I wish I had been able to see that live. I agree with you, they somehow sounded so good and perfect together, and you could always tell it was Bon Jovi.

It's different without Richie. They have John Shanks AND Phil X on guitar. I think Phil does the talkbox on Living on a prayer but not the backup notes. That camaraderie is missing

I've always thought this song was very underrated. While it's not a classic power ballad like "Always" or "I'll Be There for You", IMO, it's just as good as those 2, and it should've deserved more recognition when it came out.

Jon and Richie's harmonies together has always been one of my favorite things about Bon Jovi. This song touches my heart.
Really? I would have thought it's the uniqueness of Jon's voice. For a person like me I couldn't even hear extra voice or just never paid any attention to it because Bon Jovi had this instrument that made Bon Jovi different from other Rock bands- and that is John's voice. I never heard any other voice. I guess die hard fans of Richie are the ones that listen to such minor details. For a general Bon Jovi listener, only Jon's voice make Bon Jovi recognizable.

Especially in songs like, Bed Of Roses, I'll Be There For You, Wanted Dead or Alive and Never Say Goodbye. You can hear his back up vocal clearly. It's a nice contrast to Jon's voice.

I'm crying my eyes out watching this. I eventually found my soul mate 6 years ago at the age of 36 and after 3 failed relationships. We were going to grow old together and loved each other so much but he died from oesophageal cancer 5 months ago. I'm in a mess-I can't sleep or eat and still can't go back to my job as a midwife. We loved Bon Jovi and this song and "I'll be there for you " were our favourites. I don't know why I keep watching this video as it just makes me cry. I feel that my life is over.
