I've only been lucky enough to travel overseas for snow once (over a decade ago now ooft), and I'm glad it was to SLC. I'm a snowboarder, but I've only just found myself hooked on Lucas' channel reminiscing of the amazing Utah pow :(

I would just say the right tool for the job.. When there are a ton of people on the hill I want skis that have shorter turn radius.. It is different from when I can plan my turns compared to when I have to instantly turn..

I lived at Sundance for 10 years, at 6k' it's pretty low so it doesn't get the snow like the Cottonwoods do at 8k', but the back mountain on a powder day is a good time.
I could tell the snow definitely felt a bit more wet. Still a lot of fun tho!!
I have to agree with you. Powder seems to blow off the ridges and drifts into Bishop’s and Far East adding to what naturally falls into them. Sundance has the best Senior prices for any UT resort btw!

Sundance is on my list, right across the valley from my buddy's place in Heber, but we haven't hit it yet. Heading out there right after Christmas! Always a great vid Lucas.

I love your content and have been following you for a couple years. My intention is to not sound negative but I really enjoy the 360 mounted above your face vs your actual pov. On top of helmet is a wider field of vision and has the ability to show a lot more of the boots and skis/feet work which is really cool. Last years pov > this years pov. Food for thought. KEEP THE STOKE! Thanks for the awesome content.

It’s the catch 22 of the whole system. Maybe you find efficiency and purpose in both set ups. Did you use the extension clips last year that you’re using to drop it in front of your face? If not maybe it’ll provide a new experience without the helmet interrupting now. Either way. Keep grinding. Always stoked to see the channels growing success and recognition you deserve.

I would be so worried about falling on it and breaking it, or hurting myself falling on it. Have you fallen and felt your camera beneath you before? Assuming ya …..
Thanks man! And yeah for sure have taken some spills with it but it’s just kind of necessary to take the videos beyond just a GoPro. If it breaks, it breaks!
@@LucasCatania17 Hey man, your filming is unique and good, being a pro photographer myself. Sundance is my home resort. I live 30 min from it. When the clouds are not low you can see Mt Timpanogos, it’s one of the best views in UT. The back mountain is the place to ski at smallish Sundance and it appears it wasn’t open. When pow is fresh Bishop’s Bowl and Far East are some of my favorite runs in UT! 🤟🏻🎿

Love your videos, what do you use to video your skiing. I'mm guessing the drone on your link? Most ski resorts don't allow them, and when I watch you ski by other people, they don't seem to notice? I'd love to know.

Comments about your skiing? Why? Because there's a moment here or there where form might have fallen apart? So what? It's not the World Cup out there where every tenth matters. It's one thing that bothered me when I was teaching, so much emphasis on technically correct skiing. How about we tap into our artistic side and flow with nature? Yeah, good technique is fundamental for staying safe and going hard, but have a bit of fun man. Sorry for the rant. Hope you're killing it again today for the rest of us!

I'm a snowboarder/skier, I miss skiing more than I currently ski... but I have to laugh as you meet up with Dan from Boredprogression and I just got a video of his recommended to me yesterday. Been bingeing on s3 ep 7x's last few days... wild coincidence. Also stoked to hear YOU say that you spend so much thinking about the camera work you forget to ski at your best, because sometimes... I wonder.
