- In this video I clean my mouldy shower grout with no scrubbing in 15 minutes. This home made mix cleans grout and tile in about 15 minutes with no scrubbing and works REALLY well. You will learn how to clean shower grout, and how to clean mould in a shower.

Do NOT do this without gloves.
Used this great, easy trick on my shower grout & it worked! Can’t believe how simple it was, thanks 🥳
I had been buying a product called "Shooter," made by Handi-Clean: $16 for a 30 oz bottle. Well, they closed their local warehouse, but I NEEDED to get the showers clean. Bought 3 lb bag of baking soda and 1 gal of bleach, all for just under $10. I made the mix, and literally painted the walls of the shower with it, making sure some of the mix layed into the grout seams. Maybe 3 min later, I scrubbed the entire wall with a stiff brush. The mildew came off rather easily. What washed off the walls laid on the floor of the shower and started eating away the offending stains there. I recommend that you wear a respirator, and swim goggles - bleach will make your eyes tear worse than onions. Also, operate a fan nearby to displace the bleach fumes. This was a GREAT hack, a real $$$$ saver.
This works very well. Thank you very much.
I was incredibly surprised how well this worked with no scrubbing. I removed mold off of everything from grout to my wall which had some minor mold on it. This is after I had used a household scrubbing agent with a tooth brush and it didn’t touch it. Thank you so much for this as I feel like I have a bathroom that look’s livable😂
I love cleaning science 🧪
Great feeling when it works out :)
Did you ever make a video of the mold in the travertine? I'm battling some now.
Thanks!!
Have you finished the diffeent video of how to remove the opened up mold?
Ty! What kind of bleach?
I was really impressed with your video and have some stubborn limescale on a pair of glass shower doors I wanted to remove but sadly the product didn't work. I'm going to try again this weekend using a melamine sponge but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Get hydrochloric acid toilet bowl cleaner and carefully apply it to the glass - wear gloves and sponge it on slowly.
Have u seen if you put tissue paper and thick bleach on the big mouldy patch ( like paper mache’ ) overnight it will be perfect next day. Same with the grouting ❤
If you're serious about cleaning you're gunna want to know about this simple mistake EVERYONE makes using cleaning cloths: ruclips.net/video/hhYFNdD3QN8/видео.html

Gonna try this and report back! I have some stubborn black mold only in some parts of the grout. Hoping to clean it and then seal it
I’d love to hear how it goes :)
It did not work for me, unfortunately. I had to actually chip off/remove the grout and then apply new grout.
@@danielbocellican you please update if the mold came back. All the research I’ve been doing is saying if it comes back then it’s most likely behind the tiles 😔
I’m having the same issue and worried I’m gonna have to do a full tear out
I see you bought the baking soda in lidl, did you buy the gem washing soda in lidl also?
No they don’t sell washing soda :(
Works great BUT somehow i think I have some mould under (not on top) of the silicon in the shower. Any ideas people how to get rid of the mould short of stripping the silicon off and redoing.
i had the same problem but unfortunately i had to strip the silicone and redo😭 very cheap and quick to do! but yea i tried everything
Hi thank you for your videos. In Ireland they sell soda crystals.... It doesn't mention anything about its PH , is that still cleaning soda?
Yup! Same thing :)
thank you @@CleaningHowTo
No problem :)
Is there any way this mold could be starting from behind the wall?
No idea tbh - moisture causes it so if there’s a leak or water gathering yes.
I see that the washing soda crystals did not dissolve in the bleach, so how does all this work?
They act as a poultice/scrub. Some do dissolve but the function is abrasion.
for the french out there washing soda is cristaux de soudes
What is it in American😂
@@kathya1956 the video is in English already ? Americans speak English
Problem is, this kind of cleaning won’t last long. Need a quick way to quickly dry shower grout down, but that’s a real challenge and time consuming. I did find a spray on protector they use on space vehicles, but problem is it doesn’t last a long time. Somebody needs to make a mold resistant solution for installing them. I try to wipe down shower after every shower, but haven’t yet found a way to do it that gets into the grout, so have to use a sponge or something to get into the grout lines; still haven’t found a perfect quick way to dry down shower
You can use a large microfiber cloth/small microfiber towel. Buy one in good quality. Microfiber, dry up your shower completely AND clean at the same time.
Please remember to rinse your shower with water before you turn off the water while you are finished showering. When you are dry, then do the above.
Is your grout/time sealed. If not it will mildew often
which bleach?
I used the Lemon scented bleach from WalMart.
@@nathanpinnix4149 Thanks for the info
I’m so confused. You went after the small bits in the grout but not the large nasty patches of mold??
The large patches need waaaay more intervention and the limestone then needs to be filled in where it has impaired - also the title of the video is about grout, not patches in the tile.
@@CleaningHowTo is there another vid for how you dealt with the travertine?
I have read that bleach only dyes mold, and that a combination of bleach and baking soda cancel each other out (acid + base)
Which is the acid?
Whatever you read was wrong. Bleach and baking soda are both bases.
That said, vinegar would be much better for actually killing the mold.
Bleach doesn't kill the mold, no. That's why it 'comes back' so fast, because you haven't removed the old, just hidden it.
That being said, this method might be somewhat effective, with the bleach just hiding the last of the old and the washing soda doing the hard work.
Mold is a fungus. Fungus actually prefer a slightly acidic environment, so it actually makes sense that this would kill the mold. The reason it comes back is because in a bathroom the moist environment allows spores in the air to attach and grow
Buy a pastry brush, paint it on and leave overnight.
As a house cleaner, my clients will not allow me to use bleach.
Don't inhale the fumes, chlorine gas...
Because it’s getting painted on the gas is minimal but yes, ventilate the room while doing this! Thanks for your comment :)
it looks the same
It really doesnt. . .
Cleaning your bathroom with a toothbrush - sound's like something you would do in a Korean Prison.
Not a fan of cleaning so? 🤣
Why didn’t you show the black spots
I did . . .
@@CleaningHowToSorry for spam, but did it clean the silicone seal at the bottom aswell? The bottom one looked dirty but the corner one looks like it was just "installed"
It cleaned the bottom one too - it wasn’t new :)
Could just clean ya shower after you use it.
Then how would I make the videos?!
@@CleaningHowTo you dont make the video. You just clean your shower after you use it....your called cleaning how to....I just told you a way to be hygienic, stopping mould, keeping your grout clean and not having a build up of dirt....I'm actually not being a knob...I'm being serious...sotif it comes across wrong
you have a dirty home get a new bathroom
Sure 😜
