Ky Kiske fights I-No God Form - Guilty Gear Strive Story Mode (Edited)

- I was quite dissapointed because of how little credit and scenes they've given to Ky throughout the whole Story Mode... So I wanted to make a tribute to him creating this little edit video, I didn't see anything like that yet on RUclips so please enjoy my favourite and only moments with this amazing character!
So canonically, giving Ky even a FRACTION of the power Sol had, let him go toe-to-toe with God herself, even if briefly. What a fucking chad.
Even in the lore, Dragon Install into lose is a true combo
Except he didnt lose there!
@@Pitax125 he got cooked
Always has been no matter what scenary, if somehow DI gets invented irl u probably would get killed for being dangerous so it still would be the true combo
See I’m in the lower tier lobbies where you can actually pull it off and win.
Okay but he is essentially playing against a Gold character. There was no chance either way. At least he hit her with the perfect guard. It's not about winning or losing. It's about sending a message.
Thanks for making this, I always have one pet peeve with Strive or just previous GG story modes in general, is that they really don't use the character battle themes in the story. It would have been so sick if Roar of the Spark or Holy Orders played when Ky was fighting God I-no, or Smell of the game plays during a full blown tag team moment, and many more :(
Or Armor Clad Faith when Pot came in action to save Sol
Roar of the spark would've been more fitting but eh least strive was a good game as a whole
Ah yes, the best part in the game's story... I just wish they let Ky get the full hero moment. It looked like they were setting it up for Ky to save the day now that Sol's journey was finally over, the conflict with Asuka being resolved and him having the Flame of Corruption removed. The way the scene is presented it makes it seem like this was Ky's time to shine, to take the protagonist mantle for the next chapter of the franchise, yet we got robbed of it so that Sol could get the final blow, and the hero speech to himself, something that honestly cheapened the experience in my opinion. It was like watching Goku kill Frieeza in battle of Z instead of Vegeta. Despite the latter being the one who has the most personal stakes and connections with the previously mentioned villain, and how allowing the saiyan prince the chance to finally take out his most hated enemy himself would have been so satisfying, instead they have the moment stolen from them by the main character. Sure in both cases the other main character is the protagonist, but why rob another great character of their time of glory? I just wish that Ky finally gets his time to shine in the limelight, hopefully as the new protagonist.
Hell yeah man, I have a good feeling that he will get another story. He was mentioned couple of times during new story from DLC so... maybeeee?
@@Pitax125 I pray that's the case. Until then, we must follow the king's example, and not lose Hope!
@@C-Master109 if we ever get Dizzy in strive, we'd get more ky by proxy
100% agree
I love that it’s a remake of Ky’s original theme

what's the OST that's playing the background?
Holy Orders III
Bro, I'm still confused how tf he has Dragon Install
Hello - Ky basically got Sin's (his son) gear eye - they changed with one eye from each other. From what I understand Ky did this to protect Sin from public opinion about gears - with one gear eye that Sin would hide with his eye patch and the other Ky's eye that is normal - nobody would see his Crimson red gear eye to suspect Sin is a gear. Plus Sol was asked to take Sin so he would stay away from people, from king. So with Sin's eye - Ky can use this Crimson Gear power to install it to his body.
@@Pitax125 daaaamn thank u so muchh, but how do Ky "hide" his gear eye?
@@artoriasdvb5527 well he's so chad he learnt how to control it. Sin is too unexperienced. I imagine it is different when you have "installed" eye than already have natural crimson eye in your body when you are filled with gear cells. Ky is just a human, doesnt have gear cells, have to install it.
Hmmm but what about Sol? He also says "dragon install", doesn't he already have Gear cells?
@@artoriasdvb5527 yes but he's different case since he is prototype gear. Not affected by command gear cells like Sin, Dizzy or Ky
The story mode is so bad..wow..rev2 story mode is beautiful though
The best thing about this is how this is the peak of the character development ky has gone through the series's history.
From a war orphan, adopted into a military organization made to combat the same gears who ruined his life,to the leader of said organization (and feeling shackled while doing so)to fraternizing(and falling in love later on)with the daughter of the one gear who started the wars in the first place.
He let go of revenge, absolute order and most importantly, of his hatred.
I think thats why when faced with the liberation of his "shackles" Ky is one of the few characters who didnt shed a single tear, for in his journey he got free of them by himself.
"Only All-Powerful?"
THE COLDEST LINE
"a perfect being cannot create a perfect world" I think that one line just got me interested in watching these stories in their games
One of the most realistic and adult attitude in story-telling I've seen in animation, although there are things like monsters or magic - they are mor scientific here and the world is developed so much - it is explained to it's very atoms.
This is why I love Guilty Gear.
When faced with a being of infinite power, only 3 people did not cry at the sight.
I-no, for she was already all-powerful and in control.
Jack-o, for she knew what needed to be done to save all.
And Ky, who not knowing if it was possible if he would live, or even make a dent onto I-no, gave up the chance for an infinite power to do what was right. Of all the gods, superhumans, and masters of magic that existed, he was the only one who was able to do what was needed.
God bless you Ky.
You just said what had to be said
Axl didnt iirc
@@ink3487 I mean he is almost just as powerful and I-No's sudo best friend despite being on opposite sides.

Wait till you hear sin's side of this.
The reason that Ky didn't get much story, I think, is that this is *Sol's* finale.
But, Ky?
His story ain't over yet.
While Ino's dream for a perfect world was beautiful, Ky rejected it. He understood that suffering is intrinsic to the human experience, overcoming hardships is what makes us human, our niche interests, our love for people and things is what makes us human. Take that away and humanity becomes a pointless existence. Ky, the king who has withstood hardship and struggled from a young age has matured to the point that he understands this and is willing to stand up against an all powerful God believing he is right and his response when challenged on his ability to even face her is one of the most chad things i've ever heard
"Only all-powerful?"
Long live the King
Yes it was well thought decision and doing from Ky. I really wish there was Dr. Paradigm shown to this matter to understand the term he gave to Ky back in Overture "The Foolish King" and that in this at first glance foolish thinking this makes more sense than having life without struggle for progress. I also like the fact nobody seemed to expect much from Ky as it seems he didnt show anyone his true colors yet (Johnny in Xrd says to Ky that he thinks he's hiding something from everyone). There are just little details you really have to dig for that I love because they make tons of sense.
Venat from FFXIV: *gives Ky a thumbs up*
well, there's also the problem that her 'perfect world' necessitates the destruction of the current world.
between trying to stop the end of the world, and just lying down and dying, i don't think it's a hard choice
I agree which is why I bully orphans
It's a shame that it looks clunky because it's epic as hell
Yeah the models they use for the game have hundreds of bones, which is how the animations in the actual game look so fluid and lifelike, the amount of work it would take to animate these models to do these story mode animations fluidly would take absolutely ridiculous amounts of time.
@@davidcamp9335 not to mention they didn't have many people working on it
I’m surprised I never noticed it but it won’t be hard to get used to it again for the extra story they’ve added
The moment where Ky became the protagonist
I like how Ky was the one to put I-No on the ropes. Not Sol, Not Nagoriyuki, Not Axl. *Ky*
I sometimes forget Sol is supposed to be the main character
Is it because he's a badguy?

........YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAH!
The dialogue between Ky and I-No has a whole extra depth to it if you know the story line from the Drama CD's.
To summarize it: setting is back during the Crusades, Ky is a captain in the Holy Order, his unit going into a village that was destroyed by gears. They come across a supposed survivor of the attack, I-No, and take her into protective care. She plays the part of helpless victim and allows them to take care of her so she can sit back and observe. Ky realizes she's not a simple refugee, but allows her to keep up the visage so she can keep her powers anonymous if she chooses. A distress call comes up from Rome under heavy gear attack. Responding to the distress call is outside of their normal duties, but Ky decides to still go in and asks for volunteers, saying he'll go by himself if he has to. Almost the entire unit volunteers, with just the minimum crew to man their airship staying behind. He speaks to I-No saying they'll drop her off in a refugee camp if she wants, though he'd welcome her help. She says she doesn't intend to join the order but might be convinced to fight if she's compensated (and it's heavily implied here that the compensation she wants is for Ky to sleep with her). The battle is one of hopeless odds, but Ky's soldiers end up pushing the gears back, albeit to the point of exhaustion to do so. Ky orders them to retreat and goes in for one final look by himself, despite also being exhausted, to make sure they haven't missed anyone, in particular looking for I-No to make sure she's safe. He ends up being cornered and fatally wounded by a Megadeath class gear. Sol goes back out to retrieve Ky, but doesn't arrive in time and is only there to hear his final words as he dies.
The story jumps forward ten years; in this timeline, the Crusades never ended, the gears run rampant, lead by an evil Dizzy who is bent on destroying the last of humanity. The last humans have joined forces for one final stand to attack the primary gear production facility; Sol leads the Holy Order, but is a horribly ineffective leader; Potemkin leads Zep; May has taken over command of the Jellyfish pirates after Johnny was killed. As the battle ensues, it becomes very obvious that humanity will not hold out, and the gears are going to win. During the battle, I-No tracks down That Man, who is imprisoned, and he converses with her and talks about how this isn't the world he wanted. I-No decides to use her time manipulation powers to jump back in time to the point where Ky was killed, and destroys the gear that did him in to save him. The story then ensues as we are familiar with.
Holy shit dude thanks for this
Soo i-no finally has done something that is actually nice?
Its interesting to think that something as seemingly small as Ky dying changes the entire story in such a drastic way.
@@memorableman3709 both stories have a slightly differences.. check cd dramas..

Whats the theme that plays when ky uses DI?
Holy Orders III
I think I can hear awe of she mixed in there.
Yes there's a little sneaky hidden motive there for awe of she ^^ Good catch, I literally believe this is the best character theme based on how many history it contains. But also Roar Of The Spark has it and I think I love that song even more.

"Stop that blade"
I wonder where the "her left arm is her weakness" come from?
Is it just for the sake of giving her weakness despite being god-like entity?
Its one of the plot reasons happy-chaos and ino had for keeping nagoriykui on their side as a top priority, as hes the only one that could see weakpoints. (at this point in the story hes switched sides, but his ability to do this was setup earlier)

@@Pitax125 Thank you so much
Whats that music in the background its sick
Holy Orders 3 from Overtrue 2 and Xrd (Critical damage Ky)
I still feel bad for how this ended. The GG lore was so well build upon the GGXX series, it had to have a direction change on Overture, but it merged in a fine way in Xrd. What they did in Strive felt rushed in every way, lots of details that were once important (such as the sacred weapons) were completely dismissed. Maybe they "fix it" in some next update, with more "another stories", but the Sol ending should be the last chapter.
The “sacred weapons” were dismissed at Xrd
A Sin focused Another Story would be sick as hell
Man gg story modes always suck. Really unfortunate cause the idea of a whole show in a game is sick
