What went through all of these executives heads that thought EVERY SHOW needed a lil "kid-friendly" sidekick to make kids watch. 90% of us hated these new "additions" gremlin, godzookie, the trolas, orko, snarf etc..
I agree with you Dana :) In fact, did you notice the whole new episodes has changed from the animation, stories, music and effects? I think there were 2 reasons for this: 1) Introduce a cute useless character so maybe it will attract more kids to watch. 2) The plots in the early episodes is much confusing for the younger audience because the characters are all adults and no young viewer can identify themselves with anybody. This is what they should have done for Season Two: Introduce a young teen boy or girl, (or both) who "lost" their parents in a crash somewhere and our heroes find them by accident while on some hunting/hiking trip or whatever. Our heroes take them in to their "family" and raise them to be strong like our heroes. The boy/girl parents are not dead - it only looks that way. It is Ming who captured the parents and holds them as hostages. And therefore - we now have a new battle against Ming. A battle with some meaning and you can stretch this scenario for the next 13 episodes. I hope one of the creators of this show reads this :)
@Janet Craft good analysis. As a kid I never needed the " kid " connect. I disliked them all. Like did anyone watch Spaceghost for Jane and Jace...He-Man for Orko, the Super- Friends for freaking Marvin and Wendy...Johnny Quest was the only kids I could stomach lol
@@danahousley-preaster2865 Thanks again Dana :) I watched "Johnny Quest" on DVD from a friend and I noticed that from the very first episode we are introduced to Johnny's pet dog, Bandit :) This idea works because he appears in every episode and of course they had to make him get into trouble like every puppy does. To me, Bandit was a believable character so you got to know him as much as the rest of the team. Now why couldn't the other animated studios see this? In fact, I knew a friend from school who named their dog Bandit - because he also had a little black patch over his eye :) See? A good, well thought out cartoon does rub off even in real life.
Okay, I've accepted that this is the alt-version of this universe. A positive: I will never complain about #GargoylesTheGoliathChronicles again!!!! LOLOLOL!!!! #Filmation #TheAdventuresofFlashGordon #Gremlin #FlashGordon
