    Thanks for posting, and with the slo-mo ! , it's good to see how the bird acts in wind, and to learn from the crash. Looks like it took the hit well; fair flights and soft landings to you !

    Super creative design!

    I dont think this day was windy enough for this plane. next time try when there is a thunderstorm. It should fly well :)

      pretty worthless response..... that was really helpful.

    I have never had a chance to fly mine when it was not windy. I'd say you were simply going too slow when you made that turn and the wind simply got under it and flipped it the same as if it was a high wing trainer. And at hover, down go backwards very much as the reverse direction of the airfoil will cause it to drop or flip (and go into a tree......).

    I think if you connect the battery, the plane must be flat on the floor for the accelometers to initialisize and dont move. (beginn of video)

    I know its late to say but, looks like you probably had it in Acro-mode and what the others mentioned about the wind and wing interference .

    The elevons were moving in hover mode. They're not upposed to do that. It looks like you got disorientated but there may not have been eneough differential thrust to straighten it despite the safe mode.

    These things hate the wind. I turned mine sideways into the wind the same as yours and it did the exact same thing. Nothing I could do to recover after the wind caught the wing and just dumped it to the ground.

      ttttenney pilot error because unique flight parameters. Have to be aggressive in wind and yaw plane quickly into wind. If altitude was high and you were in agile mode you could have rolled it over to level then flip switch to stabilize mode quickly and yaw into wind. Need time and alt to prevent crash. I broke nose off twice learning to fly it, now have about 75 flight on it.

      i ageee with you here for sure i have a few vids of fighting wind this thing loves the wind in my opinion it is a delta it loves wind lol point that nose in to it or fight it side ways it will do it

    With that much Wing area and the windy conditions maybe Acro mode would have helped

    oops....".DON'T" go backwards in the wind at hover.....

    Thats how fast "shit" happens.....I went down straight on the nose and it broke 2 places. Fixed it with hot glue gun from hobbyking. But it looks so COOL in hover mode....I am hooked.....

    What are the specs. and does & don'ts? I only fly my quds in wind speed is < 12 mph. Anything over that is not worth the risk.

      i have flown this aircraft in 20mph wind if you point the nose to the wind you have no problems

    Just crush convergence. Can someone tell me how to setup servos or check if they are centered?

    • @KennethWhiteakaruckusbringa
      @KennethWhiteakaruckusbringa 6 лет назад

      i have modded mine a lot. when you adjust the servos there should be a slight forward angle to the rotors in hover mode. Hover it in your house or somewhere not windy in stability mode. This is the best way to find out what one needs to be adjusted. If you pull back on the stick and when it goes backwards but yaws a little thats how you know one of the rotors is not lined up with the other one.If it wobbles in the yaw that means the nacelle covers are too tight in the front. Take off the linkages and make sure you have free movement on the rotors. All of this is assuming your cg is correct. Check the cg with battery cover on and rotors in the hover position with blades facing to the sides. It should balance correct when you take your fingers and feel for the second screw holes from the front on the outside.
