      That's a good question. tbh i think he did a typo cause it does not make sense

      i think what he meant is that if for example the only survivors of the chance event are elderly, they wouldnt be able to reproduce and end the bloodline that kind of thing

      i think it’s more of an example; traits that make organisms less fit (i.e. green beetles in a brown environment) may become more prevalent within a population resulting from a bottleneck that, by chance, leaves the population with more green than brown resulting from the genetic drift.
