- In this video we head over to an existing customer's home to diagnose and replace a failed blower motor on a Goodman 90+ furnace. The motor was bound up tighter than Dick's hat band and had to be replaced along with the run capacitor.

Nice job Jake ... Thx for the ride along
Thanks for watching and for leaving a comment.
Love my puller, comes in handy in a pinch. Stay warm brother.
Makes getting blades and wheels off much easier. I like it even better when they pop off and I don't have to use it though. You as well man.
That was one dirty blower wheel. Another professional job.
Yeah it was funky. It blew a massive dust cloud when I blew it out with my shop vac outside. I put the reducer head on it and gave her the beans. Put my face into my sweatshirt and tried not to breathe much so I didn't suck it all into my lungs.
Nice work I remember that furnace 😊spray liner😊
Is that what it is? I don't recall seeing a furnace spray liner for sale in supply houses before. The person that owned this house before these people was a HVAC guy. Figured he spray painted the doors and put a bed liner type material on the top. He patched the rust holes in the side of the cabinet with sheet metal too.
Good to hear you’re busy Jake. Next week we’re supposed to get some more bitter cold temperatures.
Yeah, we are expecting it to get real cold after this new snowfall this weekend.
Great repair jake stay warm out there thanks for the video
Trying to stay that way. I keep having to work on heat pumps outside. Lol. Been taking a beating.
Good fix get ready for real cold jake with an artic blast to hit the deep south. By Tuesday or had not been this cold where I am in years.
Yeah, we are supposed to get more snow this weekend and then the temps are supposed to plummet for a few days straight. Seems like this winter has been flying by.
Hi Jake I hope all is well
Yeah man. I am waking up in the mornings with an opportunity to experience another day. Always a good thing when that happens.
how much did you charge for that
This one had some extenuating circumstances to it. I didn't mention this in the video because I was still a little fanny hurt about the situation. I also don't want to dog any supply houses or people because mistakes happen out here. I called a supply house that sold Goodman products. They said that they had the universal US Motors blower motor in stock and the OEM motor had to be ordered and it would take a week to get there. Supposedly only 3 available in the US. Customer decided on the US Motors option. Left the town where they lived and drove back into Johnson City 20 minutes away. Waited at the supply house to get the motor and run cap. Got the motor and realized that they gave me the wrong one when I looked at it. The one they gave me was a 208-230 volt motor and this furnace is a 115-120 volt motor. Waited for them to check their inventory. They ended up not having it in stock. Had to call the customer and break the bad news. Supply house said 2-3 days to get the motor. Found one in another town. Had to drive to that other town 25 - 30 miles away in each direction. Grabbed the motor and run cap from the different supply house and then drove back to the customers house. 1.5 hour round trip to the supply house back to Johnson City and then an additional 20 minutes back to the customer's house. Total hours on the job was 4.75 hours from the time I showed up until the motor was installed along with cleaned the wheel up and tested out on. $600 for the motor, run cap, belly band, and wheel cleaning plus the $95 trip charge. $695 in total. Not the customer's fault that the supply house messed up and not my fault either. I had given the customer a range and even though it took 2.5-2.75 hours longer than expected I kept my quote at the initial price at the low range of what I had given them. I told them initially $600-$650 for the motor, run cap, belly band, and wheel cleaning plus the $95 trip. It was inconvenient for the customer and for me, but I gave the lower price to them anyways at $695. Should have probably been around $900 with all of the additional travel time and mileage, but $900 was too much to charge and I wanted to be fair because it was inconvenient for them. My van gets 9-10 mpg in the summer and 11-12 mpg in the winter months. I still made a little money, but I ended up having to offer my next customer a discount as well because I was running late to their call. I did call them and gave them a heads up though.
Forgot to mention that I grabbed the belly band from the other supply house as well.
